I'll only respond to the part about the captaincy; Gattuso is in no way qualified to be a leader. How many times did Maldini have to literally tear him away from other players because he was getting himself sent off?

Report: Milan Want Marco Borriello - David Trezeguet Swap Deal With Juventus

After chasing down strikers all around Europe, Milan look set to plump for David Trezeguet.

Juventus have apparently decided to put the 31-year-old on the market against his will, and the striker looked rather tense during yesterday’s friendly match against Vicenza, even refusing to wear the captain’s armband.

La Gazzetta dello Sport today claims that Milan are ready to offer asylum to the former Monaco man. Apparently, Rossoneri vice president Adriano Galliani, along with transfer consultant Ernesto Bronzetti, met last night with the player’s agent, Antonio Caliendo.

It is suggested that Milan are prepared to sacrifice Marco Borriello to land Trezeguet, who has become the most prolific foreign striker in the history of Juventus.

Borriello returned to Milan last summer after a successful loan spell at Genoa, but was plagued by injury problems and barely contributed to the club’s cause.

Milan have turned to ‘Trezegol’ after negotiations with Sevilla for Brazil striker Luis Fabiano broke down, as the Rossoneri are unwilling to meet the Spaniards’ asking price of €20 million.

OMG we are brining Trezegol at 31, if he come it will phathethic, better let's bring Bobo (Vieri) he is free and he can play on same level as Trezeguet If i were Galliani i would go for Guillaume Hoarau from PSG in my opinion he is same as Trezeguet onlly younger ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guillaume_Hoarau )

So you want the Milan captain to be the one stamping around the field roaring into other players' faces? Ok.

Oh and Maldini himself said Ambrosini should be the next Milan captain. I don't think it's worth to even try arguing with Paolo Maldini when it comes to anything related to captaining Milan.

Like I said to you before, and Ambro is so calm and collected? The total picture of poise? He's even more nasty then Rino, he has no class what so ever.

And the reason Paolo said that is because he knew Ambro would get it because of the BS seniority rule Milan have. He wasn't going to say anything different no matter what he really thinks of the situation wink.gif

QUOTE (Tennie @ Jul 21 2009, 11:22 PM) *
On the captain debate, Fishdoll has no great problem with Ambro having it -- Ambro, despite his faults, NEVER gives up. That said, Rino is the heart of the squad, especially now with Il Capitano gone.

The debate should be stopped right here. Ambro is most probably not going to be a starter anyway, so we'll still see Rino more with the arm band. biggrin.gif

We might as well not get anyone, we already have Pippo for that so what's the point?

Like I said about a million times, I'd prefer letting go of the striker for now, getting Hernanes for the midfield and if they really want a striker so bad, get Cruz on a free

Milan Boss Leonardo Hails Juventus Striker David Trezeguet
The Brazilian says that ‘Trezegol’ is "extraordinary", while admitting that talks for Fabiano are deadlocked.

Press reports in Italy suggest that Milan are considering a sensational bid for Juventus star David Trezeguet and are prepared to offer Marco Borriello in part-exchange, rumours that will only have been intensified by head coach Leonardo's comments this morning.

The Rossoneri have turned their focus to the Frenchman after failing to reach an agreement with Spanish club Sevilla over Brazilian international hitman Luis Fabiano, whose agent all but confirmed this morning that the transfer has collapsed.

“That’s a deal that is about to come to a decision: yes or no. But things are a bit stalled at the moment,” Leonardo admitted to Sport Mediaset.

But the Brazilian could console himself with ‘Trezegol’, who has netted 161 goals in 292 appearances for the Old Lady since joining the club from Monaco in 2000.

“We are talking about a player who has hit thousands of goals,” explained ‘Leo’.

“I don’t know how far along discussions are, but Trezeguet is certainly an extraordinary footballer.”

Milan had also attempted to sign Wolfsburg forward Edin Dzeko earlier this summer, but the German champions refused to let go of the Bosnian international.

Well. Fester was awfully clear on the Borriello issue. Here's the staement from acmilan.com's english page:

MILAN - Concerning some transfer rumours published today, the Official Site of Milan makes clear that, in the words of Delegate Administrator Adriano Galliani, "Marco Borriello is not on the market and was therefore never involved in any negotiation. Milan confirm he is unsellable

Roma are apparently interested in Abate, according to Gazzetta. But Abate's agent (in an interview on calciomercato) made it clear that there's been no offer made and that Abate is not likely to be going anywhere.

As for Trezeguet...Fishdoll would find it the height of irony if he were to play for Milan, really, given that the gobbi got rid of Pippo when they bought him. I suspect the gobbi will only go for cash in the operation though.

Fishdoll's got an idea for a transfer (no clue if it's possible or likely): Oddo has said he'll only go to Lazio. So why not send him there for De Silvestri (who is supposedly on the market for a good offer)?

Fishdoll hihihihihi to CMF!

Fishdoll notes also that the last time he made a comment like the one you did, he was accused of all sorts of naughty things. Still, though, Fishdoll agrees that De Silvestri has the wrong passport.

As for Rosina, Fishdoll's not sure he'd want him at Milan. Rosina is undoubtedly good but he's also got the temper of an angry rattlesnake. His ego caused all sorts of problems for Toro last year and we all know how THAT ended up.

Andrea Pirlo Is A Chelsea Player, Carlo Ancelotti
Chelsea have signed Pirlo according to coach Carlo Ancelotti...

Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti gave Milan fans a temporary heart attack by claiming he had signed Andrea Pirlo, only to reveal he was joking.

Plenty of speculation has surrounded the Italian international. Daily reports have linked him with a lucrative Chelsea move and Ancelotti had reporters momentarily reaching for their mobile phones
and laptops after claiming Pirlo was a Chelsea player.

"There is no particular situation, Pirlo is a Chelsea player," Ancelotti told reporters.

"However, you know I like to joke around. Pirlo is a good friend and a great player."

The west London side beat Jose Mourinho's Inter earlier this morning. Chelsea won the friendly match 2-0. A first-half striker from Didier Drogba and a second-half penalty from Frank Lampard sealed victory.

Anyway, I was not arguing with Maldini but telling you why I thought Paolo said that. He'll never disagree with any of the internal choices of the club, that is the way he is and one of the main reason why some of the fans acted the way they did at San Siro in his last match
Tennie
Fishdoll respectfully disagrees with han about that. The so-called fans did what they did at Milan-Roma because Maldini was never a player to pal around with them, go to the Fossa player dinners, sit in the curva when injured, etc etc. And he didn't apologize to a teenaged curva member after returning from Istanbul when said teenager got in his face at Malpensa and demanded it.

(Fishdoll notes he was in Italy during and after milan-roma and remembers seeing one of the curva leaders interviewed on Sky. Guy's a real slimeball.)

quote from goal.com

"Fred, whose full name is Frederico Chaves Guedes, is currently plying his trade back in Brazil with Fluminese after leaving Olympique Lyonnais, but is available.

Sevilla are aware that a European club can activate a €500,000 release clause if they make a move before July 30 and an approach could mean that he will be seen as Fabiano's replacement.

If Fabiano does leave then his fellow compatriot Fred could be a viable replacement although this scenario seems unlikely as AC Milan refuse to increase their offer for the Sevilla striker."

why don't we go for fred instead,
he did quite well @lyon,
500k release(as we're now the greatest penny pinchers in the market)& also we've spent more on the youth team

Fishdoll big fins down on Fred. Didn't do particularly well at Lyon last year and, well, Fishdoll would prefer to field the 17 year old Zigomi than spend money on a subpar striker just because it's felt that one should be bought.

The reason we haven't gotten him is because hes non-eu. Our hope is still on Dzeko coming through at the very end and that is why our market is so constricted. Right now we probably not sign a striker until we have fully confirmed Dzeko will not be coming to milan this summer.

Hernanes is in the same boat unforunately because he is non eu so we won't sign him until we are 100% clear on Dzeko. Trezeguet is the only option it seems because he is cheap/old/european sad.gif. So right now we are going to go into a deal with Juve and put it on hold until we are clear, like we did with Fabiano. If Dzeko isn't available then we'll sign treze.

Update: Galliani met with bronzetti today and it seems they have been talking for hours. Heres a few of the topics, whether signing fabiano (by force) is a good thing, what other targets are available, how much we can get TREZE for etc.. and the finally signing of Dzeko this summer.

Whats interesting is that Dzeko's agent has come out and said he is ready to return to the negotiation's table and his staying at Wolfsburg does not depend on a new striker coming but rather depends on the coach's decision. Its reported that August 1 the coach will meet with Wolfsburg board and co. to decide his future. That is when they will probably sign a new striker as well.

their decision to sell him is just 1part of the game, the more important part is for milan to actually meet the asking price..

dzeko: ibra's physique mixed with pato skill&flair with just the right amount of composure in front of goal

Toni's also coming off injury, CMF. It might not be quite so dire as it would normally sound.

Fishdoll's playing conspiracy theorist right now. He wonders if Milan were never really all that interested in Fabiano and only made noise about it while other stuff (possibly the Dzeko deal) simmered quietly.

In other news, there's a nice piece on Bronzetti's blog about how he's all rosy and positive for the new Milan. No particular insights re: incoming or outgoing transfers, hwoever.

Also, Fishdoll wonders if anyone knows why Dzeko was not fielded in the German Supercup earlier this week. Was he hurt? Is it a sign of things to come?
