I'm jus tired of continuing seeing old people...Look at Raul, he already wants to retire...He's a legend...What will Favalli still be doing? i'm saying the truth...no top team today has any old players playing defence or attack today....We've suffered too much...Tennie, i was positive that u would make a comment on this.. It seems like u still like old people playing for milan..but if we have to move forward we don't need old people....We really don't need Favalli...we need fresher blood..Has Darmian played a lot..no..Look at Rafael, he's already a vital player for man u..What's the use keeping players that we don't use...I'm just tired of it and Carlo, being the coach would now put him..Does he have more confidence in Favalli or wat? Imagine Favalli playing for man u..He wouldn't even make their bench...When is the time that they'll give Darmian a chance..As far as i'm concerned, Darmian of now has a lot more to offer than Favalli does....Favalli wants to be legend by force..(That's the only reason i see that he'll play)

kenny, again with the snark. Actually, I look at a player's contribution to the team - player ratings, if you will. Favalli has gotten consistently higher ratings than (for example) Senderos, who's a good decade younger. That to me indicates he's a better player. Yet by your logic, we'd toss Favalli out and keep Senderos. Favalli is a good BENCH player. He isn't a regular starter in anyone's imagination - he's played as much as he has because of the injuries the defenders have had.
As for the Darmian debate, he seems to play more on the right than in the middle. I don't see Zambrotta being benched in his favor. I think he's just as good in the center (he can play there too) and would certainly prefer to see him there over Senderos or Kaladze.
I'm curious though -- how many games and in what context have you actually seen Darmian play?

Realistically are senderos or favalli AC MILAN quality. The fact that you even consider him a "good bench" player is in itself a joke. Is that how are standards are now... happy that a 38 year old player can make the milan bench. I wonder what other top teams have a 38 year old on their bench...hmm.....
i would rather see mattioni or darmin on the bench and used centre and fail and get experience then a 38 year old useless player. We truly have become a retirement home with this mentality.

Now that makes Favalli fourth choice. The position Darmian occupied. Tell me honestly blue, this was a freak season, where everyone got injured, but otherwise how much time does a fourth choice player get in a team? I don't agree that a fourth choice player should be a youngster. If a youngster is there, play him, otherwise loan him. Don't keep him there just for the sake of reducing your average team age.
I still stand by my statement that there are few better fourth choice CBs out there. Favalli>>>>Rivas.

i,ve seen him play abertazzi play for u21s. I,ve seen him play a little bit for milan aswell.
What i,m trying to say is, why do we have favalli in our squad at 38 when darmian should be there instead of him. All favalli is trying to do like kurt says is make as much money as possible before retiring.
Why do you defend the fact that a 38 year old inter reject has room to play our lineups. Hes not a 4th choice, when he plays at least 10 games.
Gourcuff didn,t even see as much time as favalli does.
Tennie
Feb 28 2009, 03:01 AM
Actually, blue, they've neither of them played for the U21s.

Perhaps you mean the U19s or the U20s. For the record, I've seen Darmian play for the U19s in last summer's tournament, I've seen him in Serie A a handful (probably less than 5) games, and I've seen him 3 times for the Primavera (they televise primavera games in Italy and I've seen those while on holiday).
You're conveniently ignoring how stable Favster has been - he got a 7 in the Udinese game, which is quite a high rating for a defender. (Maldini got it in the first Derby but he's the only other one who has so far). You're labelling Favalli a reject of the cugini and forgetting that he was captain of Lazio after Nesta left. Would you also label Pirlo and Seedorf rejects?
And you're ignoring the fact that I've said repeatedly that I would love to see Darmian get more time.

your older yet have better memory than me. I give you full props. Yes as you guessed i meant the u 19s. I was thinking of canada,s u 21 team as i was typing this sorry.
But yes favster may have been stable a few games but that doesnt ignore the fact he cannot play week in week out as cb. While darmian could eventually develop into a nesta and play week in week out. Thats my whole point.
Favster is a reject of the cugini because at 35 or whatever age they got rid of him, he was pretty much done. He had no room on the championship team in italy.
Pirlo and seedorf are a different story. They couldn't work with inter's style so they had to let go of them. Same with quaresma right now. If he starts scoring hattricks in chelsea they'll hail him as god but he still did not work good with inter.
I've forgotten why i'm even arguing with you at this point.

As long as we do what we're supposed to do, which is buying at least one great CB in the summer, Favalli won't get much chances. with Bonera, hopefully Nesta, Thiago, Kaladze and another CB (in no particular order), how many minutes do you think he will get. I don't know what's all this fuss about.

That's what i'm saying Tennie...He's played maybe 2-3 games and may be not the entire game but he's played something...Why would Ancelotti not play Darmian? I think that an 18 year old or 19 year has more to offer than a 38 year old...How do we know what he can do if he doesn't play...So my thought is that if Favalli didn't or hasn't renewed his contract and decides to retire, Carlo will be forced to play players like Darmian..The more the old players are gone the more we use other young players that are here or buy new young players...Carlo doesn't have confidence in youth players..I mean common, look at Santon, Rafael and his twin...Jossie gave Santon the chance and he's been very playing well.....But rather Carlo would would rather even choose favalli over antonini...That is why we are where we are...and to tell u the truth we're where we are because we keep playing old players n because the coach keeps doing the same thing....If Carlo was doing what he did in chelsea, he'll have been fired a long time ago....We want to sign beckham? why? We can't be doing this...Alright, first from beckham practising with us, to Beckham loaning with us, TO BECKHAM SIGNING WITH US? How retarded is dat...Man U said no to him evening loaning with them because they know he won't get a chance and also cuz they're more interested in young players..That's why they're the best team together with Barca...Beckham over Abate? for what..? we need to build 4 d future n start playing n signing younger players..? i can't point out how many times i've said this...I mean how would it take a top coach to win another Scudetto? Since 2003 i mean come on...Since my little brother was born and has grown Carlo hasn't won another scudetto n u call urself a top coach!!! Okay he's won 2 champions league...Jossie jus came and look where he is.....I don't think that other coaches would be doing the same thing Carlo is..I also heard that Carlo and Galliani had a crisis talk...OMG, How many times will u be given to prove urself...I mean, we exited the Italian, not more in running for Scudetto and now UEFA Cup..lmao, this is ridiculous..Even Arsene wenger isn't doing as bad as Carlo is...And sometimes u know the most annoying part, after another exit from a cup or from a huge match, Carlo would give a conference like nothing happened..EXAMPLE:
We need to work harder to stop them from scoring at set pieces and then it happens over and over and over again..There must be a change...

no i dont think so.
stats:
Last season:
mancini: GP 38, WINS: 25, DRAWS: 10, LOSS: 3, POINTS= 85; GOAL SCORED: 69; GOALS AGAINST: 26
mourinho so far:
GP: 25; WINS: 18; DRAWS: 5; LOSSES: 2, POINTS=59, GOALS SCORED: 44, GOALS AGAINST:18
If mourinho wins the next 13 games lets say, he'll finish with 98 points. But its only 70% through the season and anything can happen. We'll wait and see but for me mourinho has been playing much better football than mancini was last year.
