Losing Pirlo would hardly be a disaster (except it means we lose ANOTHER Italian) as it's not like he's given tonnes of great performances in recent years. The 2006 World Cup seems to have taken the ability away from all of them! (Except Rino, but he never had ability to begin with).
Jack Sparrow
I think the job he does is a little more understated the past two seasons, ever since he dropped back as extra cover. But it's still very vital. We saw games without Kaka, when a semi-fit R80 did a pretty good job.

He's called the metronome. He dictates the pace of this team, and he is very vital. To discard him, is to discard the 4-3-1-2.

i think we are discarding it with 4-3-3 as the main formation whihc could be converted to other different formations
Jack Sparrow
I think the 4-3-3 is all about wing forwards...and seeing as Milan don't have any of those...I think the 4-3-3 is just a better way of terming the fluid X-Mas to 4-3-1-2 formation...that changes during the match.
amancik
As much as I want to see new formation and strategy, I don't want to lose Pirlo because of it.
He may not deadly as he used to be, but his role as link-up not to mention as defensive cover is crucial.
I think selling him would be a big mistake.

AC Milan's latest signing, Oguchi Onyewu, has successfully completed his medical, according to MilanNews.

The centre-back signed for the Rossoneri on a free-transfer after five-years with Belgian outfit Standard Liege and has passed his medical examination with flying colours.

He will now join up with his team-mates ahead of their pre-season tour of the United States, where they will play LA Galaxy, Club America, Chelsea, and city rivals Inter.

Onyewu has been the Rossoneri's only significant signing thus far in the summer of 2009 and just gave a simple "Thank you very much" to the Italian journalists present as he left the clinic.

The 27-year-old recently gained plenty of exposure at the Confederations Cup, as the USA made it to the final before losing 3-2 to Brazil in an exciting encounter in Johannesburg.

This will be benefitical for us in the long term. I expect to see a better Milan image in the USA, which is always welcome. I asked a friend of mine who is from belgium on how good he is and he said Milan are very lucky to get him for free. He said he is very underrated and even at Standard Leige he showed he belonged to a top club.

Thiago , Gooch, and Alessandro and Kaladziity is more than enough for the centre. We need a full back now and we could potentially be covered at defence.

The words of Mr Berlusconi, who said he does not want to spend crazy digit at a time of crisis, appear to have slowed down the negotiations to reach for recruitment dell'attaccante Luis Fabiano (28).

The trip, planned by the leaders rossoneri towards Silviglia, was canceled. IThe President considered disproportionate to the amount requested by the Spanish company, placing a limit of 15 million euros for the purchase of the Brazilian.

However in the coming days, in Milan, you should hold a meeting between the leaders of Milan and the company which owns 65% of the player's card, the Gsi.

A meeting in which the Milan will try to reduce as much as possible the price of Brazilian in order to achieve the maximum amount spendibile, or those 15 million euros imposed by Silvio Berlusconi as a ceiling.

F*CKING PRICK! ITS 3 MILLION FOR CHRIST SAKE STOP BEING SO CHEAP, OMG 15 MILLION YOU GOTTA BE JOKING ME. YOU PAID MORE FOR FLOPAVEIRA!!! realmad.gif realmad.gif realmad.gif

If we lose him to city I will be so pissed, i'm sick of this piece of s*** of a president. If you don't want to fund the club fine but at least have the decency to f*ck off and let us run the market with what we got. Greedy ******* f*cking *******.

Report: Milan to Dzeko could be back on as the striker is pushing once again for negotiations.
TriniKing_CE
Given your last two posts, once they do in fact have truth behind those reports, I guess if we are going back for Dzeko, that could be why we are again delaying negations, this time for L. Fabiano.

WTF? Mediaset says, "Pirlo goes, Hernanes arrives?" are we seriously going to sell Pirlo?

http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y...history_state0=
Zed.D
I had said before that if we can survive without Kaka, we can survive without Pirlo as well. he has hardly been a world beater in the past 2 seasons. IMO the problem is not a footballing one. we're losing icons one after one. Maldini, Kaka and now Pirlo? I will miss him if he goes. but I still believe he won't go anywhere. let's see...
han2503
I can't believe we're really going to sell Pirlo. Hernanes would be great but not at the expense of Pirlo. This management makes me puke.gif

Hernanes should be a replacement for Seedorf not Pirlo!! There is no way anyone can do what Pirlo does for the team.

And to those saying that Pirlo hasn't been good since the World Cup, have you ever stopped to think that it was because Carlo was limiting him so much in his rigid system?? How do you explain his great performances for Italy then? Oh right because Lippi know how to play to Pirlo's strengths and all Carlo cared about was playing Rino and Ambro because that to him made us defensively sound, even though we conceeded more goals when playing in that system then any other rolleyes.gif

You have a point, but it still doesn't explain his many misplaced passes (someone who's supposed to be accurate in his passing), or losing the ability to take good free kicks (someone who once was one of the absolute best in the respect). Carlo may have been influential in Pirlo's decline, but something's certainly happened to Pirlo himself. might be the age, might be lack of motivation. I don't know...

Guys Pirlo is WC midfilder but he is 30 years old and how much contribution he can give to NEW Milan, we are building team for the future and i think Hernanes is way better option just coes he is 23 years old and coes he is future. I gain some video of Hernanes he look like mix of Kaka, Gerrard and Gattuso he is so good at the defence and eaven better at AM role, Kaka speed- Gerrard shot and long balls - Gattuso defence carachteristic and i think he can run more then Gattuso lol...

The bad passing could be linked with the fact that he was so ristricted and came under more pressure so he made bad passes.

The free-kicks are a bit unexplainable...

We should ask Chelsea for Deco plus the money. I know some would say that he's cr@p now a days, but I'm a firm believer that it was the EPL doing the same thing that it did to Sheva and Pirlo will go through the same thing. Cultured players like these don't belong there. Its a big difference going from leagues like the Serie A or La Liga to the physical fast paced EPL especially when you've reached the age of 30 like Deco, Sheva and Pirlo have. I think Deco could do well in Serie A. And if he doesn't, who cares? We'd have gotten him for free and then we'll offload him to Jose in the winter, win win situation as far as I can see
han2503
Regarding the Dzeko rumours, if we get him then we can forget Hernanes or vice-versa, both don't have EU passports so its either one or the other and not both

Milan Locked In Talks With Luis Fabiano Representatives - Report
Sky Sport Italia claim Adriano Galliani is in deep negotiations with RIO - the investment company that owns 65 percent of Luis Fabiano...

Adriano Galliani is locked in talks with the company that owns a majority stake in Luis Fabiano as Milan try to implement a strategy in an attempt to pressure Sevilla into selling up.

Sky Sport Italia report that high-powered talks are taking place at the Rossoneri's headquarters in Via Turati today after a number of lawyers from investment company RIO arrived in Milan.

The situation is complicated though as Sevilla are playing hardball. It is said RIO are eager to sell the striker to Milan, while the Spanish club are seeking a better offer from the Rossoneri. The sale will not go through unless RIO and Sevilla can find an agreement.

Milan have already had an initial €14million bid rejected, but they are working alongside the investment company that owns Fabiano in an attempt to raise temperatures in Seville.

Voices suggest the Rossoneri will design a strategy with RIO in order to convince the Spanish club into selling up. The Rojiblancos are demanding a better offer from Milan and the Italians will use today's negotiations to find a way of landing the Brazilian through a deal that all three parties can agree on.

AC Milan Linked With Barcelona Captain Carles Puyol
The Euro 2008 winner is now on the radar of the Rossoneri, as they monitor his contract situation...

Barcelona skipper Carles Puyol kisses the armband after rising to bullet a header into the Real Madrid net

AC Milan are considering a bid for Barcelona defender Carles Puyol, according to Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo.

Apparently, the player is waiting to be offered a contract renewal, as his current deal expires in 2010. The Spanish international would like an extension until 2012, but the club are still considering their options.

The Rossoneri are reportedly ready to step in. Puyol has never hidden his admiration for the Italian outfit and their vice-president, Adriano Galliani, has compared Puyol to the legendary Paolo Maldini in the past.

The 31-year-old has spent his entire career with the Catalans, making over 400 appearances in all competitions and playing a part in two Champions League titles.

Meanwhile, free-spending Premier League side Manchester City have also expressed an interest in the Spain defender.

He would rather have us stay as we are than spend 3 million more and sign him and end this fuss. He is now a foul toxin that Milan must rid it self of.

Milan: Luis Fabiano "dead end" Tuesday 14 July, 2009

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Milan have “revoked” their offer for Luis Fabiano after talks with Sevilla reached “a dead end,” announced one of their directors.

The Brazilian’s buy-out clause is around £25m, but the Rossoneri were hoping to seal a deal for £15m plus performance-related bonuses.

“The negotiations for Luis Fabiano have reached a dead end,” director Leonardo Cantamessa told Sky Sport Italia.

He also denied reports Milan were trying to get the player for just under £10m by talking to the Rio company that owns 65 per cent of his contract.

“Our talks have always been with Sevilla and only with that club, not the player. We have made our offer and, as they said no, it has been revoked.

“You need to ask [Vice-President Adriano] Galliani if there will be another offer, but at this moment I really don’t think so.”

It is a heavy blow considering this week Coach Leonardo had described the move for Luis Fabiano as “lacking only a few details.”

There were reports this morning that President Silvio Berlusconi personally put the brakes on the deal, as he did not want to pay such a large sum of money despite pocketing £56m from Kaka’s sale to Real Madrid.

It remains to be seen whether this is just a ploy to get Sevilla to lower their asking price, fully aware that Luis Fabiano has publicly begged to be able to join Milan, or if the transfer has truly floundered.

Why is the max at 15? That can't even sign emerson these days.
han2503
I don't really understand what's going on, on one hand you have the club saying that for now the deal is off and on the other hand you have the player's agent saying that a deal is close to being reached

Its a very confusing sitaution atm, not knowing who's words to believe... unsure.gif
Bluesummers
Basically Fabiano's agent has come out and said talks are still on but Milan needs to change their offer. We bid 14 and they want 20, they said a deal around 18 million could be made but we are refusing to rise above 15 million. What galliani tried to do instead was add related bonuses such as if he makes 30 appereances for milan this season sevilla get 3 million etc etc to make up the 3-5 million were lacking but sevilla said no.

The team is not what it used to be, this is a time when Inter Miland and Juventus are strengthening themselves even further and Milan goes and sells kaka only to replace him with Luis fabiano. ********! And now they talk about selling pirlo, what they should be doing is selling dida seedorf inzaghi favali oddo ambrosini and fester! Instead the team keeps these plays, sells the most valuable players we have and buy the cheapest players in the market. I don't know if two or three years is enough to build a young team, arsenal are going into their sixth year with nothing.
