Rafinha, approached to Juventus and Barcelona, is appreciated also by Ac Milan. The agent of the Brazilian footballer, Marcos Malaquias, will have a meeting with Rossoneri Officials. Schalke require 8/10 million euros, but until this moment no one club has offered enough money. Rafinha, however, next year could become free, by effect of article 17.

TMW

Okay lets go over something regarding his transfer. If shalke don't sell him now he'll become free next year according to article 17 in fifa
QUOTE
Part of Fifa's Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, Article 17 grew out of European Commission regulations on freedom of movement for workers and allows footballers to break their contract once a "protected period" has expired.

For those younger than 28 when they signed their contract, they must be three years into their deal - the 28 and overs can use it after just two years.

It does not act as a get out of jail free card though - the player must pay compensation to their club which is worked out based on wages and their original transfer fee. But since their new club can get them for no official transfer fee, they should not be short of a bob or two to pay their previous employers.

Players must give notice that they plan to use Article 17 within 15 days of the final league game of the season.

So Rafinha's will be allowed to break his deal next year and pay his club the remainder of his contract. So thats what they mean he'll be free. That means we can go in and pay Rafinha the 1 or 2 million it requires to break his contract and he's ours. So Shalke might indeed sell him this year if he does want to go.

Thats why I guess were interested, because we can land someone whose worth 20m for 8m laugh.gif
Bluesummers
But that is if Rafinha wants to leave in the first place, and also if we got b@lls to do something like this to shalke, which i'm sure will prove to have consequences later.

milannello (if thats how you spell it) is very high-teck when beckham was going through his medical they noticed that he had a back problem by just looking at his teeth and they told him to fix his teeth and there will no longer be any problems and it was true
i doubt that there was something going on between B&G

Milanello is the most advanced blah blah blah, but my faith in them took a hit, when they couldnt fix Kaka and a whole host of other problems. If memory serves correct, i think they injured him more than helped him last season (or was it two seasons ago?)

The only thing they seem to be doing right at this point in time is extending careers almost supernaturally. This is both a blessing (Maldini, Costacurta, presumably Rino, Ambro and Pirlo in the future) and a curse (Favalli...)

juve are set to sign one more player before the transfer window closes and i feel they are complete in every department barring full backs _ o and juve pay more than milan in general when it comes to transfers and there hot on heels when its come to rafina so i think they ll get him and fiorentina will get de silvestri wrapped up we ll settle for no one in the end - im not dissapointed but would have been nice to have some new fullbacks in

Madrid badgered us with kaka bid threats before we made up our mind, and we got huntelaar
balls go un-noticed in today's market

no we recieved money from madrid. a deal took place. We got paid a fair price for kaka. If we wait till next year, Rafinha is recinding his contract and shalke will lose out on alot of money. Thats why i'm saying its dangerous to do this.

Instead of negotiating with the club, were paying the player the 1 or 2 million required to terminate his contract. That is just a low blow, and it'll come back to haunt us in the end. No big club to do date has done this yet, and I hope we are not the first ones to do this.

Well, according to tuttomercatoweb, the gobbi have put in offers for both Rafinha and Grosso (no clue if they're right).

Calciomercato says nothing about a gobbi bid for Rafinha, mentioning him as one of four possible lb/rb options: Rafinha, Zaccardo, Behrami, and Sevilla's Adriano.
Jack Sparrow
I'm not clear on this 'fullback' thing. Do we need a LB or a RB? Why would anyone do?
Tennie
I think it's a matter of we need one or the other since Zambrotta can play either side.

i think we're overlookinh agood buy in DARIO SRNA, he's a versatile player with bags of quality, i'd av assumed he'd be cheap but his recent form and shaktar's uefa cup win would av increased his value. but still...........
Tennie
Mediaset is running the Gobbi offer for Rafinha too, so sounds like they really did make a bid.

I'd LOVE Srna, ganney, but suspect he'd be rather expensive (and he is Shakhtar's captain so..).

Then again, the Supercup is this week so maybe they'll be willing to consider offers after?

i'll look up his contract status, i suspect he might not av that many years left on it. i don't think a player like that wants to remain in ukraine very long

which is probably the case....

i just dont get it, i know were trying to keep 0 dept but COME ON, it's complelty normal to run on dept. these crazy figures that teams like real and man u are incurring i agree are overboard.

but you really think italy will uprise if their billionaire rolleyes.gif prime minister INVESTS 7-10 m in a top italian talent?!?!

this is when it shows that all this guy says is BS, i just dont trust him he doesnt have the best interests of the squad at heart. not the mention his sarcastic/insulting claims that were one of the best in europe or better than inter w/e he said.

imo he's worth around 15m and will only get better...

7-10 would be a bargain...

We probably won't sign anyone and we'll bet on Abate becoming a proper RB.

and in all honesty he was in my top 3 of realistic transfers that i wanted...

Loosing out on De Silverstre (were we ever in the race?) is a blow, he would have been an ideal player, young, Italian, and with lots of ability and potential.

If we are going to continue being stingy for the foreseeable future, why not promote some Primavera players. Let Albertazzi play LB sometimes etc etc

ok so Inter in the last days get: Sneider
Roma get Burdisso
Juve get rafinha
Fiorentina get de silvestri
and we get silvio bitching that leo is misusing Ronnie?!?!
Tennie
Before everyone panics needlessly, I'll point out that there's nothing official on either the Schalke or Gobbi websites and that the bits on tuttomercatoweb and mediaset (which is presumably where goal stole it from) say 'probably will be concluded' and 'probable' and 'likely'. Not 'definite' and there are no pictures anywhere of Rafinha holding up a gobbi jersey and standing next to Secco and Blanc.
il_diavolo_mtl
For their part, the Rossoneri are thought to be examining the Sevilla player, Adriano.

Tuttomercatoweb is reporting that there'll be a meeting tomorrow between the gobbi and schalke because the gobbi want to beat Milan to Rafinha. Milan's not out of the picture but, as stated in the past, they need to offload Oddo first (and he's being intransigent).

Realistically speaking here, how much could they really get for Oddo?? I think 3m max, and since he's so persistant on staying whether he plays or not I say tear up his contract pay him the cash and be done with it. At this rate if he really doesn't want to leave then we'll still end up paying him his wages until his contract is up.

We need a good fullback desperately this is not a situation where we could play it cool and wait for Oddo to decide things. If Rafinha goes to Juve, our options will be down to zip as there are no quality fullbacks left out there now that we ruined our chances of getting De Silvestri because of this Oddo nonsense

Its not official anywhere as of yet, wiki can be edited by anyone.

I'm pretty sure its going to happen, but I still wouldn't rely on wiki if I were you wink.gif
Habitant
believe it or not i dont i've ever seen wiki go wrong. i dont go check there every day but generally transfers that effect us, especially the ones that royally piss me off like this one.

i think epic fail should come out wit their very own fester/berlu "FAIL". signed 1 player in open market, and theres around 20 are so players we've courted or rumored with that we know of.

so what a success rate of 5%? pretty damn good!

Bluesummers
well I guess when silvio said the market is closed, he was serious.

Sigh....

What a poor job done in the market, we had 2-3 months to rebuild this squad properly and we didn't.

I'm not even optimistic, Nothing is going to happen in the last few days if it didn't happen earlier in the 2 months we had.

In the end this will all snowball and Berlu will pay the price for this. Either he will have to pay for the damages later or sell the club. Were in the year 2009/2010. With all the media/news/youtube etc pressure on them, they will have a very hard time doing their job if our club doesn't make CL. This isn't like when Napoli declined, I doubt it'll be that easy for berlu to just say we are the best club in the world if we don't make CL.

Its make or break imo. If we get 5th season, things will fall apart forsure. Maybe our training ground will be burned down or our downtown office will be burned down and B&G will probably go under more protection. He will be probably forced to sell the club at that point is my guess.

----

Personally if it would mean getting rid of nesta, pato, ronaldinho, gattuso, ambrosini, pirlo, leonardo and anyone else who is our symbol, i'm all for it. We should have rebuilt this club properly with good players like Juve and Inter have done so far.

Inter: Lucio, Eto, Milito, Motta and now Wesley

Juve: Cannavaro, diego, Melo, Caceres and now Rafinha

Milan: Onyewu and Huntelaar

Its just sad no matter how you look at it. Inter got 1st yet they have gone through more changes than us. Juve look motivated this year and have taken the steps in the market to make their team better. Then their is us, we sign a free american and bring back a bunch of our players and sign some useless school kids. The only decent signing we have done Is Huntelaar, who can't even compare to the likes of Diego or Eto.
Bluesummers

The player successfully underwent a medical yesterday and has moved to the Viola for a reported fee of €6 million. He is the first of the three players labeled as 'rebels' by president Claudio Lotito to leave the Biancocelesti.

Wow we couldn't even pay 6m for him. How f*cking sad. I can't even describe this in words. For 6 million we refused to sign one of best upcoming RB in Italy. laugh.gif

Berlusconi and Galliani ladies and gentlemen, lets give them a round of applause for their great performances in the market; we truly are the best club in the world bar none laugh.gif

Bluesummers
can someone explain this please:

We are all in the champions league, Milan & Inter & Juve.

We have the richest owner out of the three.

We have no debt compared to the three.

Yet we have no money and spend the least compared to the three.

Inter: Miltio/motta (30m), Eto (swap), Lucio (10m), sneijder 15m(soon to be official)

Juve: Cannavaro (free), Melo (20m), Diego (25m), Caceres (loan), Rafinha 8m (soon to be announced)

Milan: Onyewu (free), Huntelaar (15m)

Someone give me an answer please sad.gif

blue...it's called politics

berlu is in a different position than every other owner in the world. he has a political image to uphold. it's bad on his political image if he goes and spends all over the place during such a bad time in our world's economy. no one else has to deal with that.

now, does that make it ok to have miserable market? no...imo, this is why i don't like have a politician run our club.
Zed.D
I'll be waiting for a last minute surprise... because I can't accept our transfers are going to end right here! a full back could be the difference between a good and a bad season. I think if we don't buy one now, we will do it in the winter transfer window however.
-
Guess I have to say this again which I feel may be the sentiment of many others here: the day this club has an owner who doesn't have to deal with ****ing politics and is willing to spend the 'necessary' (we don't want overspending anymore - just buy what we need!) money on the club will be a very happy day for me.

Also Its not like were asking madrid spending here were just asking the average amount clubs spend and nothing more nothing less.
