^^ they should know their transfer targets months in advance not just decide spur of the moment.

fiorentina are on the verge of signing drenthe and we go after buck-tooth-bill and fail LOL! this club is so pathetic right now.
Dash
Months ago, we had a different manager with a different tactical outlook. Since Leo will be playing much differently than Carletto, it's much better that he decide who he wants in at his own pace.
kurtsimonw
I wouldn't even want Drenthe at this club. Like Ryan Babel, he shone at the U21 Championships, moved on to a big club and failed miserabley.
Dash
Drenthe is a bit gash--could do well in the Bundesliga, though.

I don't know about Drenthe, but I wouldn't put him not succeding at Real Madrid to much against him. Real Madrid is a graveyard for players, the management or the fans have absolutly no patience whatsoever for new players. The amount of quality players they have almost abused is amazing, Van Der Vaart was viewed as a great talent before joining them, now he's a bit of a joke, same with Gago, Huntelaar, Marcelo to some extent, and don't forget players like Cambiasso, and even Robinho wasn't appreciated except for his last season at Real Madrid, despite his obvious talents.

Point is that Real Madrid is the most impatient club in the world, they change the squad constantly, and their fans aren't to slow to boo anybody, it's very hard for any players to break through at that club.

The AC Milan - Cissokho - FC Porto saga continues. The negotiations between the two clubs are deadlocked and FC Porto chairman Pinto Da Costa is getting impatient.

Da Costa told Portuguese media sources : "After finding out that Cissokho has a health-related problem with his teeth, AC Milan GM Adriano Galliani changed his mind in regard to signing Aly Cissokho from us. First, he wanted to cancel the deal, than he proposed to sign him for less than 15 million Euros and later on he asked to keep Cissokho only on loan for a season. Well, I cannot accept to loan Cissokho. The problem with his teeth can be easily cured, therefore I do not see any reason why AC Milan should not sign him on a permanent basis anymore. Cissokho can leave Porto only for 15 million Euros. I will not agree on any loan deal and I will not negotiate on any discounts. If AC Milan refuse, I will keep Cissokho at Porto".

AC Milan are never keen on ultimatums, therefore it is easy to assume now that they will no longer sign Aly Cissokho.

to be honest, for 15 million we can sign a much better LB. If he comes then fine but if he doesn't we can easily find a better target. Lets go splash that cash on De silvesteri who has the potential to become an all star or santacroce who can be bought for that amount.

Porto can go suck a fat one if they think we are going to play hard ball over a player they bought for 300k in january laugh.gif

Report: Villareal have given Rossi a contract Renewal, which he is expected to sign by the words said by his agent in a recent press conference. Rossi has a complicated situation. But there are no problems, we are dealing with a renewal of contract with Villarreal. However, if a big club comes knocking then we will reconsider our options.

He'll sign, i'm 99.9 % sure of it. Hes out now as an option and so is benzema. He is pretty much done. Madrid wasted no time, offered 40 and lyon accepted. Announcement should be made shortly.

If we don't sign Dzeko we are going to run into big problems. We have to sign him this saturday, NO IFS OR BUTS GALLIANI! DO IT GODDAMIT!!

Milan To Launch Final Assault On Wolfsburg Star Edin Dzeko - Report

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, good news is coming from Germany for Milan as striker Edin Dzeko could still join them this summer despite the persistence of Wolfsburg not to sell him.

Apparently, the Bundesliga club are currently searching for a player who can fill Dzeko's shoes once the player leaves the club, and this could be the biggest hint as of yet that he will join Milan.

Yesterday, Wolfsburg met up with Manchester City to discuss the possible transfer of former Fiorentina striker Valeri Bojinov, who is deemed as the ideal replacement for Dzeko.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is also expected to fly to Germany on Saturday to accelerate negotiations between the two clubs and persuade Wolfsburg to part with their Bosnian star.

This means that by the weekend, Milan should have a definite answer on whether or not Dzeko will join them.

its important i mean it all adds up but we have nothign to worry about. We have another 70 left probably to spend.

Thiago silva
Abate
Di gennaro
Dzeko
Ciskho

All under 25, i guess Galliani wasn't joking when he said milan are going to become youger.

I think were playing 4-3-3 forsure next season. I mean abate and gennaro back...? THey both can play wing and then we go after a striker who can also play wide.

You don't sell someone to cover losses..and then go and spend all that money elsewhere.

We had about 60 million in losses right? Okay we can solve this problem in multiple ways.

We can use silvio's pocket, which is imo the best way but not a realistic choice. We have been doing this for about 20 years and it has to stop sometime.

We can sell gattuso, pirlo, kaladze, seedorf, dida etc. until the 60 million is covered.

We can sell Kaka and cover the losses.

We can use the money that is is used in place of our transfer fund, which is recieved heavily from champions league participation to cover the losses. Then we could no longer buy any players this summer.

I think the logical choice is the current one, which the mangement took.
Jack Sparrow
I agree with you. I already said this. That if instead of Kaka, someone had come up and offered 70 million for Pirlo, they would have sold Pirlo.

But all I'm saying is your math seems to indicate that we have another 70 million available to be put into transfers...when we might at the most have another 30.
kurtsimonw
Another co-ownership deal that's punched us in the face. We'll probably end up bidding a stupid amount to get the player, or we'll lose out because we're cheap. Either way we're stupid.

No we have about 70 million to spend, that i'm quite sure of. It makes sense because Kaka's sale was to make sure leo had the funds to rebuild the team.

But we'll see how its spent. We have quite a few freindlies, which will earn us crazy revenue.

But lets not forget what we've spent.

10 on thiago silva
3-5 on abate
3-5 on gennaro (if we win)
10-15 on cissko
20-30 on dzeko

In reality yes we might not have that much more to spend. But I think we'll spend over a 100 million with the sale of some players ofcourse or silvio's pocket or revenue from friendlies. We will sign 7-8 players, that i'm sure of. Galliani usually pulls of 2-3 signings in august. He is almost known for it tongue.gif

And what happens to Pato?

IMO Di Gennaro is not that good to make it as a regular winger (or a regular player in any position for that matter) at Milan.

Pato ---- Dzeko ---- Rossi (or Abate) for me if we're going to play 4-3-3

No my dear friend. Dzeko will not play center. He will play wide. It will be ronaldinho=pato=dzeko. For wolfsburg he would always play as a wing/central striker. Its a weird role. Forget Rossi, he will not leave villareal he will sign a new contract with them shortly.

no grafite played that role. Dzeko is very similar to sheva. He is a SS if you know what I mean more than a CF.

He's 6 ft 3 inches, fast and a great finisher with his head and feet. He has the killer instinct. He will be like sheva for us when he first came.

Besides Zed, woudn't you want Pato in that free role in the middle? I mean we don't need to play the long ball game anymore. We can play the short passing and dribbling game with dinho pato and dzeko/X.

I think Pato would do damage in the centre where he could drop pick up the ball and attack the middle than attacking the wings where he has not done too well. Pato needs space and lots of the ball in the middle where he is allowed to run at the defenders and shoot. When he played on the wing for Inzaghi he always dribbled too much and usually made no impact.

Just my opinion.

Porto President: Milan Must Pay Up Or Forget Aly Cissokho

Milan's move for Aly Cissokho is on the verge of collapsing again after Porto president Pinto da Costa warned the Italians that they will have to cough up the cash initially agreed or they should forget a deal.

The Portuguese chief is reluctant to offer the Rossoneri a discount, and he wants the Italian club to go back and respect the original terms of the transfer if they want to sign the French full-back.

Those terms included a €15 million payment, however, Milan have tried to use a medical problem with the player to obtain a discount.

Although they still want to proceed with the transfer, Milan have insisted that Porto do so in the Italian way. The Rossoneri want an initial loan deal worth €3m, with the option to buy the player permanently next year if Cissokho plays at least 50 per cent of Milan's matches.

The deal is now once again in serious doubt, and Da Costa's words could scupper any progress just days after Cissokho's agent claimed the revised talks were moving well.

"It is inconceivable to think of accepting the loan when the Milan physician has admitted that the problem with his teeth is solved," Da Costa told Expresso.pt.

"Cissokho moves only for €15m and nothing less. If Milan do not return to the initial proposal, we will have no trouble keeping the player."

LET'S RESTART FROM PATO
6/25/2009 3:22:00 PM
There have never been any doubts on Pato. He will have his contract extension. In any case he already has a contract until 2012. There's nothing on Pirlo. No requests or offers: nothing. This is what Adriano Galliani said today in Lega Calcio.

MILAN - These are the declarations left by Adriano Galliano today in Milan after midday, before entering the Lega Calcio: "Pato? I'm absolutely happy of his declarations. We have always spoken with Pato, then the declarations that arrive from other continents are often misunderstood. There were no doubts and there are no doubts. Pato wil have his contract extension and we shall restart from there. He has 20 years and I continue to think that in the world there isn't such a good player of 20 years. In any case, no one must worry, because Pato has a contract until June 30 2012. Pirlo? For Pirlo there's nothing, there's no request and there's no offer. A request for Andrea Pirlo never arrived at Milan. The only one that arrived is for another player, a monstrous offer, from England, I won't say from whom, for a player who is called Alexandre Pato and is newly wed."

The other declarations, starting from Edin Dzeko: "He's a Wolfsburg player," highlighted Adriano Galliani, "And I prefer not to comment. Obviously if Wolfsburg call me up I will rush there. He has expressed his desire and I think that he will continue to express his desire to come play at Milan. As an old football director, I say that it's difficult to hold on to players who don't want to stay, but everyone does what he thinks is best. However right now we are searching for an attacker. Dzeko is the first objective. Luis Fabiano could become an objective, if we do not reach Dzeko. Luis Fabiano like other attackers, because on defenders and midfielders we are not moving. Adebayor? Could be an alternative. I had a cordial meeting the other day with Arsene Wenger and we said that we would have spoken again if there were the conditions."

The other topics, starting from Aly Cissokho: "With the Porto president we are friends for many years, it's true what he says. The contract was sealed even with a handshake, but it was cancelled at the medical visits. The medical found that there were problems and with a written opinion by the doctors I cannot do otherwise. Without these problems, the player would have joined us. Either cissokho arrives or we keep our players, we have signed Abate yesterday. On Cissokho there are no limits there are no end terms, he can also arrive later, because either he arrives or we keep our players. Real? It's true that if Milan wanted, it would have priority on the players is excess. It's the result of the friendship with Florentino Perez. However, we are searching for a striker. Not Van Nistelrooy. At most Huntelaar, but for the time being we're on Dzeko."

Has Galliani forgotten there's a league called Serie A from which he can buy players as well? (our players like Abate, Borriello, etc. doesn't count)
