Definitely want Abate back, Abate on the right and Janku on the left if for some unlikely reason Carlo tries 4-4-2.

Need a CB, that's the biggest issue. Thiago Silva looks like a great signing but we need someone to complement him.

Both Ambro and Rino are good players but I personally don't think playing them at the same time is right at all. so no, it was not a mistake. they can be rotated with each other.

Borriello
Pato -------------- Rossi
Kaka
Ambro -------- Pirlo
Janku ----- Thiago ----- Nesta ----- Zambro
Abbiati

Satisfied? biggrin.gif

That's better! biggrin.gif

i think Flamini > Ambro, but that just may be that i'm a younger fan that has only recently been able to follow the team. I have little to no loyalty to the older players in milan's recent "mini-crisis" and believe Flamini should start over Ambro every game :S
Out side of an aerial presence, i think Ambro's abilities are outdone by Flamini. That's not to say Ambro's a lesser player, hell no, just past his prime...

ambro's a good player bet he's out of his depth when were depending on him to send a killer ball our need that extra presence in the box to get that goal late in the game.

carlo plays him wayyyyyy too much and everywhere on the pitch which makes him look bad.

In Ambro's defense, he DID set up Milan's 3d goal v. MU in the San Siro leg of the 07 semis.

Habitant Ambrosini is more of a 'destroyer' than a 'creator'. He isnt there to provide Killer Balls, not when Pirlo, Seedorf and Kaka are there

Ambrosini's pass and Gila's goal against Manchester were awesome though

We need balance. Pirlo is too weak defensively and can unbalance the squad if there are too many attackers in front of him, thats why if we ever play two strikers Pirlo needs adequate support, or maybe we should move further up in a Trequartista role (his original position)

why is it that our most convincing display of the season (5-1 against Udinese) was when we played a pirlo, seedorf, janku, dinho, kaka, pato front 6?

Pure conincidence IMO.

Why did we trash Inter while Boban, Leonardo, Albertini, etc. were away and we had Giunti and Comandini? Same answer...

C'mmon! You're pushing it to far! Kaladze has been injured and out long, so you've fogot how the man plays. One reminder, and you'd wish Seedorf rather then Kala.

This is something to me something like your Vidic-Senderos idea. With Kaladze you have someone who is **** and he's **** no matter how hard he tries. With Seedorf you have someone who can do great but does not even care to give anything more than ****. I'll always prefer someone who at least is making an effort!

Up To 17 Players Could Leave Real Madrid In The Summer - Report

Real Madrid are preparing for a mass clear-out in the summer, with no less than 17 players being considered to be shown the exit door as the club looks to regenerate its squad, Sport report.

Whoever wins the presidential race will told by the outgoing administration that drastic changes are required and Sport believe that moves are already planned to start the operation.

Five players are certainties to leave; Julien Faubert's loan will not be made permanent while Jerzy Dudek, Michel Salgado, Fabio Cannavaro and Javier Saviola will all go.

Salgado has reached the end of an era at the club while Cannavaro's desire to finish his career in Italy will see him go back to Serie A.

Among the more unexpected players to have their stays at the club put in doubt are Royston Drenthe, Daniel Parejo, Christoph Metzelder, Javi Garcia, Rafael van der Vaart and Ruben de la Red.

Drenthe is set to be loaned out and Metzelder will be told to look for another club. Meanwhile, Van der Vaart is thought to be low on confidence, having failed to break into the starting line-up, and is close to a departure, either via a loan or transfer.

The trio of youngsters are not considered to be at the level required, with current boss Juande Ramos having not been impressed with any of them enough to give them a chance in his side.

Four more surprising names then appear. Fernando Gago, Mahamadou Diarra, Guti and Gabriel Heinze are all likely to have their situations analysed as the club look to rebuild.

Gago has suffered in recent big games for the Blancos, while Diarra's long-term injury looks to have seen him replaced in the side by his namesake Lassana, Heinze continues to cast doubts about his temperament and Guti will have to show that he can still play at the highest level, according to the report.

The last quartet could yet win their place back at the club, but Perez allowed no less than 16 players to leave in 2003 after a successful run and, while that proved to be the beginning of his downfall, it seems as though repeating such an exodus has once more become an eminent possibility after Madrid's Champions League humiliation.

We should go for VDV asap before others. Sell dinho sign VDV!

Gago and VdV are tempting. If Flornetino will be the head...like Galliani said, anything will be possible.

Press reports in the peninsula claim that Inter and Milan are both interested in signing Palermo's Danish international central defender Simon Kjaer. Both clubs may have to do battle with Juventus, and Premier League giants Liverpool and Chelsea, during the summer session of the Calciomercato.

Kjaer, who will turn 20 at the end of this month, joined the Sicilians last summer on a five-year contract, but it has been revealed that a clause would allow him to join a foreign club for a fee of €12 million.

After a difficult start to life in Serie A, Kjaer has earned the trust of coach Davide Ballardini and has now made 17 appearances in Serie A, starting 13 times.

FcInterNews.it reports that Jose Mourinho has expressly demanded to bring in the Danish defender to bolster his back-line. But the Nerazzurri could face stiff competition from city rivals Milan, who are eager to place him at the heart of their defence alongside Brazilian Thiago Silva. Milan are reported to be prepared to put a €10m offer on the table.

However, Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini and sporting director Walter Sabatini have already stressed that they are not willing to listen to bids, and they insist that Kjaer will stay where he is next term.

Anyway, goal's running a rumour that Inter are looking to offload Maxwell. And since his contract's out in 2010, they're welcoming all comers (including us!). Wouldn't mind him too terribly. Besides the fact that he's Brazillian, he would be good.

The rumour claims, it's a move endorsed by Leonardo, and it's so that Marek can be pushed out into mid-field.

Don't ask me about credibility of the rumour though.

I don't think we should sell Dinho and buy VdV. Like the game showed yesterday, he's got class. While VdV hasn't impressed me, even when he turned out for Madrid. Yes, I know he's been out of practise and all but...I'd rather we got Kuff kuff back than VdV...I think it will be the same difference.
Tennie
The Maxwell rumor comes from a statement by his agent to the effect of 'Sure, if everyone agrees' in response to a question of Maxwell to Milan. But it's qualified by 'I think it'll be easier for him to go abroad'.

It's being paired with a Clichy to Milan rumor on Mediaset.
Jack Sparrow
Bah..I don't think the LB is our biggest priority right now. We're not 'exactly' losing games coz our fullbacks are bad.

I don't care if the whole transfer budget is thrown onto one CB. We can then let go of a few people and then land an average target man striker on a free. Some Italian Heskey type or the Favalli equivalent of strikers. Any options guys?

@ Jack

LB our priority? no. do we need LBs? yes.

With Maldini retiring, Favalli being around 38yo, Janku a liability in defense, etc. I think we do need to bring a left back. Maxwell's only problem is his nationality. not many people are keen on seeing yet another Brazilian at Milan, which is fair enough. but apart from that, he looks like the ideal choice. decent, young -at least for Milan-, cheap, already has Serie A experience, etc.

All our ex-Interistas are considered legends (even Favalli!), why not Maxwell? tongue.gif

100% agreed. Believe me, if any player's just done playing for Inter, I want him in Milan. biggrin.gif

I don't have a problem with him either. Since I'm almost certain that Emerson will be leaving (unless all the Brazillians go on strike for their brave and fearless leader). So the balance is retained. I understand, once upon a time he was talked about as being the next great thing, so this means he's not mediocre.

My only worry is that Maxwell might eat into our other funds. I don't want that extra 5 million we put into Maxwell, to cost us our top class CB(if he's coming). Also, it's just me, but I really don't know if Borriello will get over his injury problems for another 2 years (like Ambro). So I really do want a target man, to give us a better aerial presence in the last third of the field.

Agree with Pana about Clichy. A couple of years ago, I thought he was remarkable for his age, but he doesn't seem to have developed too much. In fact it's all bad habits now. He makes too many wrong decisions, something you'd expect to reduce with experience. I'd rather we get Vargas, who's slowly improving after a pathetic season so far. At least he can take left footed free kicks. I think it would be more bang for buck.

Well, the LB position is a tuff one, we once had class with Maldini, Coco and Ziege, but nowdays we find second-hand solutions like Sergio (terriffic LM, LW) or Janku. I'd still give the french guy a chance, even if I agree he had a bad season. My tip would be France - major change in Ligue 1 this season, PSG and Marseille seem finally near to Lyon. Let's find a LB there...if not in Italy.

My transfer scenario for next summer (wish mode also):

OUT:
Antonini (isn't up to the task, but we could keep him)
Kalac (too good to be 3rd)
Oddo (I suppose he'll stay at Bayern)
Kaladze (change of climate)
Ronaldinho (-)
Gourcuff (France, Barca,..offers will come, we can take the extra cash and make space for the other 2 youngsters)

IN:
Di Gennaro + Abate
Panucci + Mexes
Giuseppe Rossi
Edison Cavani
Simon Kjaer
Jack Sparrow
I don't want Panucci. dry.gif There won't be enough playing time for Favalli to develop.

Cavani? What kind of striker is he? Do we need that type?

And Kjaer is with Senderos staying or without? Coz I get a sneaky feeling, we might agree to keep Senderos. And do you send Sheva out as well?

As for R80...I want to wait till this season ends. With Kaka injured, I think R80 will have a bigger role to play, and I really want to make judgement then.

Still not convinced about the physicality/sneakiness of our forward line though.

The great thing is, your targets kinda balance out our depth problem.

Would like us to make an effort for Kuff kuff though. At least know, that we made an offer for him. Coz I don't mind spilling extra cash for Abate if we had to . I certainly think technique like Kuff kuff's doesn't come everyday. It's just tactical acumen which can hopefully be drummed into him.

I'd say versible, but most of his goals come from headers. He's not Zigic or Morientes, but I'd say he would do a good team up with the uru-guys.

Maxwell is mediocre? I don't think so. he's definitely nowhere near even Serie A's best LB, but we could use him as a decent backup for that position. he won't do worse than a 37yo Favalli, will he?

--

Edison Cavani?... hmm... he looks like one of those 'small team strikers' to me. not sure he can do much at Milan. for that kind of striker, I think D.Milito fits the bill perfectly. but a ) we have a problem with Argies b ) he will definitely stay at Genoa if they finish top 4.

An attack line consisting of Pato --- Borriello (or another target man) --- Rossi would be awesome. two wide strikers/wingers, a target man in between. I really, really hope we sign Rossi before Juve do that.

Milan and Arsenal target Miguel Veloso has received death threats in an unsavoury letter sent to the Sporting headquarters.

Sportmediaset claim the letter was directed at Veloso as well as club directors and coach Paulo Bento. It is believed the threats were issued as a result of Sporting's poor season so far, as well as their miserable exit from the Champions League last week.

Reports in Italy and England have suggested Veloso is a target for Milan and Arsenal, and this latest incident may convince the player to leave Portugal. Apart from death threats, a number of anti-Veloso messages have been written on walls outside the club's training ground.

Reports suggest that the police presence was stepped up during the game against Rio Ave on Saturday and a number of fans were stopped in connection with the recent incidents.

This latest problem comes just days after Record.pt reported that professor Jorge Silveiro of the University of Minho claimed Veloso needed a psychologist as the Portugal international has not been at his best this season.

Sporting are currently second in the Portuguese Liga after their 2-0 win on the weekend, four points behind league leaders Porto.

Bs on this aswell. Arsenal are pole position, not us. Besides he'll cost us 20m at least.
