Being a Cassano fan, and with Del Neri arriving at Sampdoria, I am very anxious to see what happens in his future.
I am not necessarily saying I want him at Milan. But I consider him to be immensely talented footballer.

He has an awful amount of talent, he just lets other things get in the way of it. I'd like him at Milan, maybe he'll change? It's a gamble, but one I think we can afford to take since we're just going backwards right now.

I hope so too. He has proven himself in bundesliga but thats bundesliga lol. Serie A will be the real challenge.

It seems after him we are going after defence.

We are linked with: Zapata/mexes/maxwell/srna/pasquale

Lets see what 80 million does for the team.

Not so fast blue. Even if we did get 80 million, a large percentage of that (~20-30%) would be off as taxes on the income. This much we know.

Out of the remaining amount, some part of it would go into covering whatever losses we made the past season. Then perhaps we might have what's left for transfers.

It's something similar with the Sheva case. I always wondered why everyone thought we had the whole 30 million to spend.

While I've noted the names of all who wanted Pirlo and Zee sold, (and rest assured you will be perma-banned in short time)...for me it's about the figure.

Board had two options:

1. Sell Kaka for 70 million. We had Pato, Ronaldinho, and could have enough left over to buy one more person in attack.

2. Keep Kaka for sentiment's sake. But to raise the 70, proceed to sell Rino, Pirlo and Zee..basically rip out our mid-field which I think would have been far more damaging. I'm sorry, but we couldn't have recovered from this. We don't have the players. Besides Xavi and Alonso, I know of no other player who can replace Pirlo (Cigarini replace Pirlo is like Darmian replacing Nesta), and both of them would be either unselleable or cost more than Pirlo.

In that sense the board did what was best. I don't like it. I would have preferred that we took the financial hit. But lately it seems to have become an operating guideline, that this club can under no condition function under debt. If this condition holds, then we'll have no scope but to do this.

Otherwise what Bluey mentioned is true...Kaka was sold at the right time. A player who depends on pace, will only decline from now on, and Madrid have made a HUGE gamble. We've lost nothing except perhaps on the sentimental side.

Because R80 might not play like Kaka, but with some tweaks, I think Milan could be just as effective. Don't forget how last season, R80 always played better when Kaka wasn't around. It's that whole point of them both drifting onto the left.

I remember some years ago, the second season of Kaka at Milan when we were still big and could buy anyone. Galliani was asked whether we could buy Ronaldo or R80. He replied," The first is an impossibility, while the other would cut space for our own Kaka who we count on very seriously for our future". Then they went on to do it anyway. biggrin.gif Defined irony, thy name is Berlusconi.

Cassano's agent: 'He's Happy to Remain at Samp.'

Giuseppe Bozzo (the agent of Sampdoria forward Antonio Cassano) said: "Cassano is very attached to Sampdoria. He is grateful to them for the fact they gave him the chance to become a top player again and he doesn't want to leave. Of course, we must not be hypocrites : if there will be an offer from other clubs we will evaluate it. But, as far as I am concerned, there are no offers at the moment".

Benitez: 'No interest for Lavezzi'

For the past few weeks, there has been lots of talk concerning Napoli's Argentine forward Ezequiel Lavezzi. His entourage claimed he was tracked by Liverpool officials and the player is tempted to leave Napoli. However, Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez said today : "We have never contacted Lavezzi and we will not do so. We are not interested and we want to put an end to the rumours". .... Benitez's statement contradicts what Lavezzi's agents say. It is obvious someone is lying and time will tell who it is.

Milan Star Alexandre Pato Drops Chelsea Hint

With the Kaka transfer saga finally over, Milan fans are now afraid that the club will also cash in on his compatriot Alexandre Pato, who is allegedly being tempted to Chelsea by new Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti.

“It’s an honour for me to be appreciated by a club like Chelsea,” Pato told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“However, I will first talk to Ancelotti, then I will meet with Milan officials. My future will be clearer at the end of June.”

Diavoli supremo Silvio Berlusconi has insisted that after selling Kaka to Real Madrid for a reported €65 million, he will do everything in his power to keep hold of Pato.

“I hope Kaka will be happy in Madrid, but I can’t wish him to win the Champions League. I want to win that!” grinned ‘the Duck’.

“We will lose so much from his departure, but Milan are not just Kaka. We have a great group and we have a phenomenon in the form of Ronaldinho.

“Is [owner Silvio] Berlusconi saying I will stay put? As I said, nothing has been decided yet. I want to speak with Ancelotti. He is an amazing man. He helped me emerge at Milan and in Italian football. Before deciding my future I want to talk to him.”

Let the fun begin smile.gif Oh how i'm so excited to see when he will be leaving. happy.gif I'm sure berlu can make a good 50 million on him smile.gif Long live Il presidente cool.gif

In-Demand Serdar Tasci In No Rush To Leave VfB Stuttgart

Serdar Tasci admits he is flattered by reports linking him to some of Europe's top clubs but insists he is settled at VfB Stuttgart for the time being.

The 22-year-old centre-back is considered one of the brightest prospects in German football, and as such the likes of Arsenal, AC Milan and Juventus have already come knocking.

However, even those high-profile suitors have been quickly waved off by the powers that be at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

"I have the ambition to move clubs one day, but the time and circumstances have to be right for me," Tasci told spox.com.

"I have to admit I'm flattered that clubs like Arsenal, AC Milan and Juventus have had their eye on me in the past.

"But I'm not getting carried away with this. I'm focused on Stuttgart and looking to return to action following my knee injury."

The young defender's current Stuttgart contract expires in 2010 and the Bundesliga outfit are eager to renew his deal.

Milan Already Looking To Life After Kaka

Milan have gained €65 million from Kaka's transfer to Real Madrid, and president Silvio Berlusconi promised a few days ago that this sum would go towards signing new, important players.

According to gsvs.it, the main transfer target is Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko, who is valued at around €20m and rated as a very likely arrival.

Marco Borriello's continual struggles with injury could accelerate the negotiations for the Bosnian player, who finished first in the Bundesliga top-scorer list this past season.

In midfield, the Rossoneri are looking at the possibility of signing 24-year-old Hernanes of Sao Paulo, but in this case a lot will depend on Andrea Pirlo's situation.

Despite Berlusconi stating that Milan are fine in defence, Roma defender Philippe Mexes is still a possible target for the club. His alternative could be Alex Silva of Hamburg, whom coach Leonardo likes a lot.

In the end, Milan are set to rejuvenate the squad without spending too much, as their intention is to retain most of the money earned from the Kaka sale.

However, should their targets come through, then they would have also managed to considerably strengthen the team with the sale of one player, like Juventus did in 2001 with Zinedine Zidane's switch to Real Madrid.

Thiago silva, alex silva mattioni and maxwell would just finish the combo right up. Brazillian defence laugh.gif is this a joke seriously?!

I'm actually worried about the Pato deal.

I'm sure that Carlo knew before he left that Kaka was leaving. So when he said there's one player I'd like to bring to Chelsea, but he's unselleable - I presumed Pirlo. Could it have been Pato?

Now Pato 'wants' to leave?? If Pirlo and Pato are leaving I'd rather see them play under Carlo than anyone else but..this is crazy.

Someone please talk to Pato and make him stay. I always thought their affection for Leo was greater than that for Carlo. Now I'm not so sure. sad.gif

Hopefully, this is just to get a better contract.

Exclusive: No Milan Deal For Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko - Agent

Edin Dzeko's agent Irfan Redzepagic has exclusively told Goal.com that his client is not in talks with Milan, contradicting what Sky Sport Italia claimed on Monday night.

The Italian news station suggested Dzeko was on the verge of joining Milan after his father met with Milan directors Adriano Galliani and Ariedo Braida on Saturday. However, the player's agent has denied rumours that his client was in negotiations with the Italian side.

"Edin Dzeko is a Wolfsburg player and he still has a two year contract left to run with the German side," Irfan Redzepagic told Goal.com

"Reports saying that Milan are in talks with Dzeko are not true. I have been contacted by clubs and there are teams in England, Spain, Germany and Italy who are interested in him, but we have not received any concrete deal on the table yet.

"There are no offers for the moment, but it's possible that he could leave for another club. I don't have any information of a deal between Milan and Wolfsburg."

and the usual denial coming right as scheduled. Perfect, welcome dzeko everyone smile.gif Hopefully the first of many great signings this summer.

Am I Going To Chelsea? We'll See - AC Milan Midfielder Pirlo

On the day of Kaka's big transfer to Real Madrid, another Rossoneri idol, Andrea Pirlo, said some words that will have caused even more unrest in Milan.

Currently the midfielder is training with Italy's national team in South Africa ahead of the Confederations Cup. Answering a question from Sky Sport 24 regarding his future, he said, "Am I going to Chelsea? We'll see..."

Asked about Kaka's sale, Pirlo unsurprisingly admitted he is disappointed, "With Kaka's departure Milan lose a very important player."

It has already been reported that new Blues coach Carlo Ancelotti would like to see Pirlo join him after he also recently made the move from Milan to Chelsea.

Nevertheless, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has frequently reiterated that, after Kaka's sale, no big-name player will leave the club, at least not this summer.

It seems, that even the CEO of Milan has already met in Bosnia, near Sarajevo, the father of the player to establish an agreement in principle. "Setting up a treaty in the coming days probably," he anticipated the consoluente market Wolfsburg Vlado Borozan . What I can say is that AC Milan will be a very tough negotiation, the Wolfsburg is a rich club that does not need to sell and wants to prepare a competitive team for coping with the Champions League. I Might Leave Bayern Munich - Luca Toni

After buying striker Mario Gomez from Stuttgart, Bayern Munich may be forced to sell one or two of their forwards.

Today Italian international Luca Toni, who's currently training with the Azzurri in South Africa ahead of the Confederations Cup, admitted there is a chance he will leave the Bavarians during a press conference
.

"Four strikers are a bit much at Bayern," he said to calciomercato.com. "It's possible that I will move elsewhere."

Toni joined the German side from Fiorentina in 2007. Earlier in his career he had impressed at the likes of Brescia and Palermo. In the 2005-06 season, he became the first player since Antonio Angelillo in the 1950s to surpass the 30-goal mark in a single Serie A season.

Ronaldinho Can Bring Greatness To Milan - Alexandre Pato
The youngster wants Kaka to be happy at Real Madrid but also thinks that Ronaldinho can lead the club to glory in his absence...

AC Milan youngster Alexandre Pato has said that he wants Kaka to be happy at Real Madrid but that he wants to win the Champions League himself.

'The Duck' joined the Italian side back in 2007 but despite showing plenty of promise he is yet to win any silverware at San Siro.

Kaka on the other hand has already lifted the Champions League when Milan triumphed in Athens two years ago.

Speaking about Kaka joining Real Madrid today, Pato admitted that he has mixed feelings about seeing his Brazilian compatriot leave.

"I want him to be happy in Madrid, but I want to win the Champions
League, I really want to win this title," Goal.com Brazil quote him as saying.

Certainly the youngster looks set to be a big part of the team next season and will be hoping that he can fire Milan to European glory.

Asked about whether or not he feels the loss of Kaka will hurt his team's chances of success, Pato stated that it won't.

"The Milan has lost an awful lot, but Milan is not only Kaka. We have a great group and Ronaldinho, who can still bring a lot of greatness to Milan," he insisted.

if we announce dzeko next week then all our no eu spots will be over so hernanes is out of question and i dont know what is the status of melo probably non eu..... what I hope or want milan to do this summer is get these players:
Dzeko ( 22-25 million)
Maxwell/Srna any one would do (maxwell will be free while lets just put 10m for srna)
Krajer ( cheaper and younger than mexes as nesta is back we can develop krajer and silva) (12 million)
hamsik (30 million if we sell pirlo)
machetti ( 5 million for the keeper)

total cost is 80 million while we would have earned 65+15+25 that is 105 million......
