Milan Hop On The Keirrison Bandwagon

Italian giants AC Milan have joined the race to sign Brazilian sensation Keirrison.

Barcelona and Liverpool have already admitted their interest in the 20-year-old Brazilian with AC Milan now joining the race for Keirrison's signature.

Keirrison currently plays for Brazilian giants Palmeiras, on loan from Cortiba who own 20 percent of his contract. The other 80 percent of the striker's contract is owned by Traffic Sports Marketing, the same company who own the rights to Manchester United's Carlos Tevez.

The player, who has already netted 13 times in 10 games for Palmeiras, expressed his own desire to one day play for La Liga leaders Barcelona. However, his interests may soon turn elsewhere as his idol Ronaldo's old club AC Milan have shown their interest in the youngster.

Speaking via telephone on Brazilian talk show Bem Amigos, Rossoneri technical director Leonardo revealed his club's interest.

"The reason for my call is not to speak to Ronaldo," Leonardo said.

"I wanted to call Keirrison.

"Ronaldo has already played for Milan and scored goals, now it is time for Keirrison. It impresses me that he can score with his left and score with his right. He has the ability to dribble and has a perfect touch."

Flattered by the kind words of Leonardo, Keirrison still remained firm in his dreams of one day playing for Barca.

"If I was to pick a team to join from Europe, I would like to play for Barcelona, like Ronaldo and Romario. It would be great to play in Spain.

"I have watched Romario and Ronaldo play for them in the past and that made me aspire to want to play for a great club like Barca.

"I have also dreamt about playing alongside someone like Lionel Messi one day."

Stephen Crawford, Goal.com

Another great Brazilian talent by Leonardo cool.gif

Hmm....the interview seems to suggest he's a dribbler. If we get another dribbler, we must plan to play a 4-3-3 or something.

If this dude is coming in, then I guess Ronnie is going out?

It's Leonardo vs the appeal of Barca. We'll see. I'm worried that Barca would offload Henry to us in a bid to get this kid. The advantage is that Barca is currently distracted by Benzema and would ignore Keirrison. So then it would be a toss up between Madrid and us, and I think we'd be better off. Of course IF we want him.

Zed, take a look at this kid. You're good with Brazillian youngsters.

You mock me? tongue.gif well, I believe in Leonardo. he must have seen something special in this kid.

I don't really think there's any room for him at Barca. he better stop fantasizing!

PS. 13 goals in 10 games for Palmeiras?! blink.gif that's impressive!
Jack Sparrow
No seriously. I no, it sounds like that, but I'd rather take your word for it. I honestly have no clue when it comes to picking outrageous talent. Esp not from youtube. I actually thought that Kerlon kid would be something. biggrin.gif While G.Rossi would be another name lost to the annals of history.

sad.gif I know.

It's my way of thought. I saw Kerlon and I thought, some kid who can do that, must have a lot more up his sleeve. He'll be great.

And when I saw Rossi, I thought so what else can he do. Meh!

@CMF: I know the mechanics of the transfer. I was pondering the usefulness. Mikel is no Desailly. In any case we have Flam, Rino and Ambro in that position. I'd rather we got Kuzmanovic. Someone creative please.
Zed.D
Essien !

He's kinda my dream signing. and I suppose he'll remain that, a dream.
Jack Sparrow
Where did that come from?? Damn..your train of thought moves pretty fast. laugh.gif

Essien is one of the very few Chelsea players I'd like to see at Milan. Really really like the guy.

I'm Interested, it's not like we don't have enough Brazilians to serve as bargaining chips tongue.gif (I.E) this kid gets calls from Thiago Silva, Kaka, Ronnie, Pato in the same week, he might HAVE to come to milan smile.gif )

Especially if that DM is Mikel. I'd rather Milan signed you up.

i hope we sign kiersson. That kid has got some talent. He could be as good as pato. But if this deal goes through its looking more and more like rijkaard is coming next season.

4-3-3 is probably what were going to be playing.
Tennie
I wish we'd sign an Italian or two.
kurtsimonw
I would like Rijkaard to be the next Milan manager, though the whole Rijkaard/Ronaldinho thing would no doubt start up again. If it were to happen, Ronaldinho would have to go, it's not like he's really done anything to earn a place at the club, he had his chance this season and he's just not put any effort in as far as I can see.

Yeah exactly. Thats why were being linked to kiersson. The guy is fast, very fast.

But we need to sign more than just kierrson if were going to play that formation.

we need a solid wingers. I dont think Kaka can play winger.

abbiati-zambro-cb-cb-janku-gattuso-pirlo-flamini-kierson-pato-kaka

that attack would be sexy.
kurtsimonw
Who does Kiersson currently play for?
Bluesummers
palmerias.
Bluesummers
I wonder if we could sign Lucio from bayern. I remember we were linked with him a while back.

It would be good because we could use Oddo +15 million to lure him. Imo hes the only worldclass CB right now we have a chance of signing.
Tennie
(Abate and Di Gennaro can play on the wings.)

solid wingers. I'm talking ribery level. If ronaldinho was actually back to his old self, he could be a solid winger.

Although I personally wouldn't mind them for backups.
Tennie
Right, sorry. It's okay to bring on 19 year old unknown Brazilians and give THEM a chance, but not at all permissible to do so for our own good primavera players.

kiersson is different. Its not the same. Right now kiersson is much better than both gennaro and abate. kiersson wouldn't start if we had a solid winger either.
Tennie
Really, blue? How many palmeiras games have you seen? Do you think he can automatically transition into serie a? Do you think he's milan quality based on the games you've seen? How many call ups has he had for his NT?

Seems to me people are ever so excisted that Leonardo has found yet another promising player while they're totally dismissive of any potential our own homegrown players have (if they've bothered to watch them at all).
Bluesummers
better than any italian youth player we got
CrazyMilanFan
abate defintly should be preffered he is having a real good season de gennaro mayy have to prove a bit more
Bluesummers
Yeah recalling abate is a good idea as well.

Seriously... youtube vids? There's not even something so very special about those goals (except for the on on 0:50 but then he'll never find himself in that position in Europe)... Brocchi and Kaladze can be made to look amazing in video compilations.

I don't know who we're going to sign and I don't care about his nationality as long as he's tall, strong and world class. We should of course when looking to sing new players first check the Italian players that fit the characteristics.

For one, we should buy Aquilani to take Seedorf's place in the starting line-up.

hes good, i've watched him live. Theres more videos if you browse. He's like pato, but better finisher. If we sign him, with time we would have a sick attack.

Hes fast, good touch, amazing dribbling and plays more upwards than pato. He can also play wing.

Ofcoures he'll cost a sh*t load and since he wants barca signing him will be hard. im' guessing 20 million minimum.

Aqualiani wouldn't come to milan. He loves roma.

There was something so special about Pato that one could see it even in youtube vids! I did tongue.gif

Anyway, can't say I'm amazed by this kid. he's good, just like many other Brazilian kids. but I don't see any reason why we would go for him when we have a similar player in Pato (which IMO is much better even though he's 1 year younger). I want G.Rossi.

I really like Rossi but he's short... I think it'd be better if we added some vertical presence in that attacking department.

Borriello wink.gif if only he stays away from injuries, he's exactly the type of striker we need.

Borriello
Pato -------------- Rossi
Kaka
Rino -------- Pirlo
Janku ----- Thiago ----- Nesta ----- Zambro
Abbiati

Kinda like 4-2-3-1... *sigh* we know it won't happen under Carlo but a new coach, who knows?

Kaka.........................................................Ronnie/Becks

I agree, Pandan. He's really blossomed at Toro and with the U21s. And he's FAST and can cross the ball well.

Keirrison scored 13 goals in his 10 appearences with Palmeiras smile.gif

Report: Milan To Swoop For Roma Defenders Philippe Mexes & Christian Panucci
The Rossoneri are allegedly preparing to ransack the capital club to reinforce their ageing defensive line.

According to Turin-based daily Tuttosport, Milan could launch an audacious bid to capture Roma central defender Philippe Mexes next summer and are also eager to bring back Christian Panucci.

The veteran Italian defender plied his trade at the Stadio San Siro from 1993-97 and will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season. His current contract in the capital will run out in the summer and it is unlikely that he will be offered a renewal after his insubordination in Naples back in January.

But the Diavoli would need to dig deep in their pockets to prise French international Mexes away from the Stadio Olimpico.

Paolo Maldini will call it a day in June and there are still doubts over the long-term fitness of Kakha Kaladze and Alessandro Nesta.

Milan consider Mexes the ideal candidate to command their rearguard and it is suggested that Roma will be forced to part company with the 26-year-old if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

The Lombardy giants are reportedly prepared to put a €15 million offer on the table, plus the services of Ignazio Abate, who is currently co-owned with Torino, and Yoann Gourcuff, who was loaned out to French side Girondins de Bordeaux last summer.

Vince Masiello, Goal.com

i have no words.... dry.gif ohmy.gif
Tennie
You shouldn't. smile.gif It's TUTTOSPORT. That's a Turin based paper that is in no way reliable for Milan related news. Given that Panucci is out of contract that one's perhaps possible (he'd be free and we know how Galliani likes that) but Mexes for Gourcuff AND Abate? Nah.

Both Ambro and Rino are good players but I personally don't think playing them at the same time is right at all. so no, it was not a mistake. they can be rotated with each other.

Borriello
Pato -------------- Rossi
Kaka
Ambro -------- Pirlo
Janku ----- Thiago ----- Nesta ----- Zambro
