Milan Chasing Corinthians Star Andre Santos - Agent

Roberto Queiroz de Andrade, agent of Corinthians defender Andre Santos, has confirmed that Milan are after his client.

The Rossoneri believe that Santos is the ideal recruit now that Porto's Aly Cissokho will not join them after failing the medical in the past week.

"Yes, it's true, Milan want the player," affirmed the agent to calciomercato.com. "Now it's up to Corinthians to decide.

"His price? The club is starting from a base of around €25-30 million, but in my opinion we can easily close for €20m, including the commissions.

"If Milan are really interested, then they must move quickly because there are other clubs who are making a move, from England, Russia, Spain and Turkey."

Roma are also rumoured to be in the race to sign the full-back, but the price could be too high for the Giallorossi.

I don't understand, I thought with Dzeko we couldn't sign anymore non eu... unsure.gif

anyways here is the need info on this player:

Full name: André Clarindo dos Santos
Date of birth: March 8, 1983 (age 26)
Place of birth: São Paulo, Brazil
Height : 1.80 m (5 ft 11 in)
Playing position: Left back

He's not worth 20m imo

We should really start looking at Serie A first for these kind of players or we'll get burned on prices if we're going to go for these hyped up Brazilians

Report: Milan Plan To Replace Andrea Pirlo With Arsenal Ace Cesc Fabregas

The Italian press are convinced that after selling Brazilian superstar Kaka to Real Madrid, Milan are also poised to sacrifice Italy international Andrea Pirlo to reduce their massive wage bill. The Rossoneri will then launch a bid for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

General manager Adriano Galliani yesterday insisted that there are currently no offers for Pirlo, but new Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is supposedly keen to reunite with the playmaker at Stamford Bridge.

Negotiations could take off next week, and with Pirlo out of the picture, the Corriere dello Sport claims the Via Turati directors will knock on Arsenal’s door for Fabregas.

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to table
a €28 million bid for Pirlo, while Arsenal will demand no less than €35m for their prized asset, who would be offered a lavish five-year contract at San Siro.

Fabregas yesterday moved to quash rumours he was considering leaving the Emirates Stadium for Spanish giants Real Madrid, however, he has recently admitted that Milan would be his first choice if he were to move to the peninsula.

Milan are also keeping tabs on Sao Paulo star Hernanes for the post-Pirlo era, but the Brazilians have slapped a €40m price tag on the 24-year-old.

no way in hell its gonna happen but its nice to dream smile.gif

For transfer guru Claudio Pasqualin, the chances that Fiorentina hold on to their star midfielder, Felipe Melo, are very low, despite the fact that they do not want to let him go.

There are many clubs chasing the Brazilian player, with Milan, Inter, Arsenal, Liverpool and Real Madrid all thought to be interested.

"I think that for Fiorentina to hold on to all of their champions is very complicated," declared Pasqualin to Lady Radio.

"In particular I think about Felipe Melo, for whom there is a lot of pressing from many important teams in these past days."

The team closest to Melo seem to be the Rossoneri, as yesterday it was reported that there was a meeting between the Milanese giants and the Viola.

It would be a popular signing for the Diavolo, as a recent MilanNews survey showed that the supporters would welcome Melo to the club.

yeah bro I feel your pain. I think its very stupid. We should be going for an italian core, which would come cheap and in the end would benefit us much more than a foreign core.

But what can you do, next is gattuso.
han2503
I still don't understand why they would sell Pirlo.

It's not like we're going to get a huge sum for him and the fact that he gets as much as Seedorf, Ambro and Rino is just as baffling. Why is he the one considered surplus and they're actually going to give Ambro a bigger wage

Maybe I'm the stupid one here but surely everyone can see that our management have clearly lost all sense of sanity. And if Pirlo gets sold, I feel that it will be the last straw that will finally send Milan back to were Berlu found it.

It's just a stupid move all around

I don't think we're going to spend 20m on a defender. For that money we could get Santacroce so I don't know why we are looking elsewhere... I supported us buying from Brazil because we can buy cheaper but 20m is a European price.

That guy Andre Santos looks good but his price must have gone up considerably now.

Melo is very good but I can't see us buying him... unless Pirlo goes. sleep.gif

He gets 6.5 million a season. He has several huge money bonuses that put him ahead the likes of seedorf and co. The wage is the same yes but I doubt the money he gets from the club overall is the same as other players.

Finally he is 30 years old and has been declining over the last few years. Pirlo simply just isn't the player he once was. Right now we can get 25 million pounds for him so they are thinking this may be a good chance at making some serious cash.

or something like this. I'm not a 100% sure but its just my hypothesis.

OFFICIAL: Milan Sign Striker Gianmarco Zigoni From Treviso

Milan have beaten off competition from a number of Serie A rivals to sign 18-year-old striker Gianmarco Zigoni from Lega Pro club Treviso for €1.2million, according to Sky Sport Italia.

The striker had made a huge impression at youth level and was brought into the first team by the Trevigiani last term, netting two goals in 18 appearances in Serie B.

However, Treviso suffered relegation to Lega Pro and are in desperate need of funds ahead of next season.

The club risked being sued by Zigoni for unpaid bonus money and could have lost the player on a free transfer, so they swiftly accepted Milan’s offer of €1.2m.

Zigoni has scored more than 100 goals at Primavera level for Treviso and netted on his Serie B debut against Ancona last January.

He is the son of Gianfranco Zigoni, who won two Serie A titles with Juventus in the 1960s.

He gets the same exact wage as Seedorf, Ambro, Dida, Kaladze and Rino. I'm sure of it. Yes Pirlo is not the same player he was back in 03, but no one is. We've got a team full of these guys who have been declining, with your logic we might as well sell the entire team, Pato being the only exception.

But the fact is, that out of all these declining players Pirlo is the youngest (29 btw wink.gif ), most talented, influential for our team and the true last real star we have on the team.

He's not going to generate a big transfer fee. So what would be the point of selling him? Getting rid of the heartbeat of this team. If we want to get the wages down then why not sell the real burden of this team? Dida, Ambro, Seedorf, Kaladze, etc. But for some reason they're seeing Pirlo as surplus. When we have all these freeloaders getting sky high wages off the club while either sitting on the treatment table or playing continuosly like cr@p

Surely the management have finally lost it if they're seeing Pirlo as the burden but not seeing all the others that are really doing the damage to this team.

And if we sell Pirlo do you really think we're going to go out and buy someone who can realistically replace him and do what he can? Do you think they'll go out and get a Fabregas, Xavi or Iniesta? No they won't, they'll say we're good as we are, that we have Seedorf, Ambrosini, Gattuso and Flamini for the midfield and we're fine as we are. You can even forget about them trying for someone like Melo or Hernanes because both aree too expensive.

Your right. I agree with you entirely. But heres the thing:

He is : May 19, 1979 (age 30)

He also commands a decent transfer fee, I mean 25 million pounds isn't all that much but it is much higher than the likes of kaladze and seedorf and co.

We can sell those players at max 10 million if were super lucky and galliani bends over twice a week for the rest of the season for the buyer.

They are just selling the big money makers, kaka pirlo gattuso pato you know and then replacing them with 2 or 3x the amount of players in order to develop a better core.

We signed 4 players and sold 2 so far. 2 of those players are absoloutly useless but thats not the point. They are trying to develop the team overall with as many good signings as possible while reducing the wage bill.

I can 100% guarantee if fergi bids 20+ for gattuso he is gone.

hmm must have forgot that he turned 30 in may, but still concidering that he just turned 30 and the others in our midfield aside from Flamini are all 32 going into 33, Pirlo is a baby rolleyes.gif

25m is very small and imo, not worth it if they're not going to be reinvested into the team. Because that is what is ultimately going to happen. Getting rid of Seedorf, Dida, Kaladze, is the answer because by getting rid of them that's Pirlo's transfer fee right there in one year as it has come off the wage bill. By selling the big money makers our team is going to be full of old, useless players.

And don't kid youself, the transfers they're making are beyond ridiculous, they're losing money over our own players, that's what they're doing with this co-ownership business. Oh so they brough back Abate? He's not good enough to play for us, that money wasted over a player we already owned previously, Yoann was sold for a ridiculous ammount because some genius decided to put a buyout clause in the lone deal. It's just ridiculous what this management has turned into.

Yes they're reducing the wage bil, but that's obviously going to happen if you're getting rid of your world class players and replacing them with mediocre ones. And that is what our management are doing...

Agreed. But seriously this new "strategy" they're implementing is beyond stupid.

They're literally dismatnling the team and we'll barely be mid table quality by the end of this. Dzeko will not be enough. I can't wait to see Galliani's face once we start getting humiliated week in week out in the league.

I really don't want to imagine what will happen when we face Inter andthe teams in the CL, at this rate we won't even make it out of the group stage with this team.

Three things could potentially happen. Leo will be sacked or Berlu will sell the club or berlu will dig in his pockets and cover the losses.

I don't see Berlu digging into his pocket anytime soon, and he's too pig headed and stubborn to even think of selling. That would be admitting failure on his part. And its something that is never going to happen.

Yes, but do you realistically see other clubs making offers for the likes of Dida, Kaladze, Seedorf etc. We'd probably have to beg clubs to take them.

Al I'm saying is get them off the wage bill. I don't care if they release them from their contracts and get no transfer money in return. Just getting their wages off the bill will be enough for Milan to recover the cash.

Its possible to sell them but we would get like I said at most 10 mil max for them. Secondly we can't just release them unless they are willing to terminate it mutually. We'll have to pay them their contract money in full in one full go. You will see kaladze and walk off with about 10 million if we just release him.

Me saying we should release them was to exxagerate how much I want to see Milan get rid of these free loading players that we have.

I'm sure mid table teams in any league would jump at the chance of getting Seedorf, Kaladze, Ambro and Dida. We're not going to get a lot out of them but at least they'll be off our wage bill. Like I said, if we got rid of these players instead of selling Pirlo for 20m, we'd still recover that money from the wage bill which would be lowered considerably...

Oliver Bierhoff: Wolfsburg Ace Edin Dzeko Is The Right Man For Milan

Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko is Milan’s prime target this summer to bolster their striking options following Kaka’s move to Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid, and former Rossoneri and Germany star Oliver Bierhoff thinks the Bosnian would prove a shrewd move.

The 23-year-old netted 26 goals in the Bundesliga last season to help Wolfsburg win their first ever league title and Bierhoff thinks youth is the way forward for the Diavoli.

“Dzeko has scored lots of goals. He can do well,” Bierhoff told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“He is a calm and generous lad. He is not a big name, but that suits Milan’s current economic situation. He is a great prospect and is hungry.”

Milan fans are still furious over Kaka’s €67.5 million switch to Real and they fear Italy international Andrea Pirlo will soon follow suit.

“I understand their feelings,” Bierhoff said. “But it is time to cut down on big expenses. If you lack finances, you need players who cost less but with great potential. Dzeko is one of them.”

Wolfsburg have no need to part with their prized asset and will only consider releasing Dzeko if they received a bid in excess of €30m.

I think the sore point is we were pushed into a position lacking finances. There should be a better method to this. Surely, you don't just wake up and declare that from this season on I shall no longer spend money on the club.

Dzeko
Tonight will be in the vicinity of Hamburg, where the Wolfsburg is located on the preparations, a meeting will be held Edina Dzeko and his manager Irfan Redžepagića with leaders Wolfsburg.

The meeting is one: It goes there or representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the ranks of the German champion.

More importantly, Milan's "bait" for Dzeko, and the BH team said his desire to join the team from San Siro.

"Here, I just landed in Germany, so now I'm going to plug here Wolfsburg camp near Hamburg, where they are preparing. For tonight's scheduled meeting with the administration of Wolfsburg, after which many things will be clearer as to whether the Edin go or stay in Wolfsburg. However, at this point, it would be unprofessional to give a statement related to this issue, "said fort the SportSport.ba Irfan Redžepagić, agent representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Italian media have been told that the Wolfsburg have offered a new contract to Dzeko, but it is a "diamond" that rejected it coes of his disire to play for Milan. Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani on the other hand, carefully monitor the situation around the negotiations between Dzeko - Wolfsburg.

From our point of view is obviously that Edin will join his childhood love werry soon coes u can't say NO to MILAN.
Dzeko
Obafemi Martins replacement for Dzeko

New coach of Wolfsburg, Armin Veh, wants to bring the attacker fromNewcastlea - Nigerian star Obafemi Martins.
How states Wolfsburg Allgemeine Veh is already in negotiations with Newcastleom for arrival of Nigerian. Supposedly a new German champion for the players, who in 80 Premier League matches achieved 28 hits, are wiling to pay 7 million euros.

If this information proves correct, Wolfsburg would probably give the green light to our team members Edina Dzeko to go to Milan.

More importantly, Dzeo has announced that it will be during the weekend to meet with leaders of Wolfsburg, and that after this meeting to know whether the remains or leaves the ranks of the German champion.

Great to see _ the amount of useless players _ we had such as emerson and sheva _ leaving the club the OUTS' are very pleasing _ however they are hindered by the fact that we sold gourcuff _ i am truly depressed when i watch videos of him now at bordeaux and for the france NT he was Kaka's ideal replacement _ dry.gif

KAKA' was a good sell for 60 million _ so im not gonna lose too much sleep but gorky _ was a big no no _ sad.gif

as for the in's dzeko is vital for the forward line or else we end up with de gennaro and pato linkin up tongue.gif

Interesting read from the official site. Galliani talks about a lot of things.

SITUATION IN EVOLUTION

MILAN – These are the declarations of Saturday June 27 of Adriano Galliani, in the second and final day of the Rossoneri’s workshop of Tanka Village of Villasimius.

THE YOUNG PLAYERS

“Di Gennaro returned at 100% to Milan. I was anxious, because he is a very talented player, he’s a player who can become good in a medium period. I just spoke to him; he was happy, he was jumping around and as a role he said that he can also play as a wide attacker. He can play as an attacking midfielder or a wide attacker.”

“Yesterday Zigoni passed the medical. On Monday we shall deposit the contract. We have purchased him on a definite title from Treviso and he will play with the Primavera. We want to return to have a competitive Primavera, Filippo Galli is working very well. Our youth sector gave to Serie A many players. There’s Astori, who president Cellino tells me that he will be a starter, there's Paloschi, who Parma believe a lot in him and there are many others. The youth sector has allowed the club to make very important profits for the balance. In the first squad we have four young players who come from our youth team, that is Darmian, Antonini, Abate and Di Gennaro. Zigoni will be called-up up by the first team on July 6 because the national team players will not be available yet. Apart from Zigoni we will also have, on July 6, Strasser, Albertazzi, Amadi and Harmony, the two Nigerian players who last year did very well with the Primavera."

THE TRANSFER MARKET

“The interest for Dzeko exists from the web of our observers which is headed by Ariedo Braida. Almost all players in the world are part of our bank data. For the technical project of Leonardo of next season, we have believed that Dzeko could do for us. However we have no agreement with Dzeko. He's a Wolfsburg player. Dzeko has expressed his interest, but right now there are no negotiations. We have written to Wolfsburg and they replied that he is not for sale. If Wolfsburg will change mind, we have agreed that they call Milan. The first official game is on August 23, there’s no hurry. Between Dzeko and Wolfsburg there’s no tension, we have always known that the meeting is today and will happen today. I repeat, if Wolfsburg change their mind, I'm ready to leave straight away and go to the wolves city. There's no sum as of yet and Dzeko is not for sale. If he is transfer listed, then we'll start talking about the amount."

“For Adebayor there was just a phone call, in which Wenger was gentle.”

“For Pirlo there has been no offer and on Thursday evening with Ancelotti it was just a dinner between old friends, since Carletto was in Milan for the thesis of his daughter. On Wednesday evening, I went for dinner with Gattuso who gave his availability to reduce his salary. He still has two years of contract, he will pass to three years, reducing the wage. Gattuso is an example, a real extraordinary man.”

“I don’t think that Cissokho will arrive. I hope that Beckham returns in January. There’s nothing dramatic about Ambrosini, but I must balance the books and there are some slight differences. Oddo has returned, he’s a Milan player, he has two years of contract. If there are interesting opportunities for him and us, we’ll see. Favalli signed a contract for the 2009/10 season. From Nesta and Kaladze there are good news.”

THE ECONOMY

“Milan will have a careful eye on the balances, but will not decrease its ambitions and the sponsors present here understood that. Yesterday I did not speak about the success of Milan on the international to attack Inter, absolutely not. Our international success are unique to Milan and I use this argument to keep the sponsors always attached to the Milan project. We’re here to work, not to attack Inter. The brand is magic, fuelled by the results, but not necessarily only by the results. The Real myth has grown even though from 1966 to 1998 Real did not win the Champions Cup. You must take notice of the new world economic reality. Italy is worth half of a year ago. The companies on the market are worth 50% less. Now we must be good to balance the books as well as build a competitive squad. Milan had balance problems and now solved them once and for all.”

“Our objectives are always the same: finishing in the top three in the league and go as forward as possible in the Champions League. We have a salary cap to reduce in a consistent way. Milan must reach level in the ordinary management and I hope to succeed also in the exercise that was started on January 1, and which ends on December 31. We will not have to be forced to sell players."

No need to bold anything..they're all relevant. Check out the last paragraph though. Looks like this 'the season' for AC Milan v2.

Milan started the galatico concept with Silvio's money..and now Milan want to get out of that style. Obviously coz we can't compete anymore, but let's see. Somehow I want to have faith in this project. I also have a lot of hope on Dzeko. He might be a real find. Similarly I remember Galli saying Di Gennaro was much more talented than Paloschi.

king.gif Rino. I can already hear han loading guns on Ambro. Though in his defence poor man will probably be signing is last contract.

Favalli extends. cool.gif That settles it, once he retires he's coming to the Milan backroom staff. Good move. You're not given the title of 'Professor' just like that.

"Milan will have a careful eye on the balances, but will not decrease its ambitions"

Arriving among the first three in the championship and going as far as possible in the Champions League.

rolleyes.gif, being happy with not winning the scudetto is ambitious?

you it's like you have a classroom of 20 students, you are in the top echelon and expected to excel. the Big text comes along and your goal is only to reach par or to be 3rd best? of course not it's always to be no. 1 to aim to be the best, thats how you get ahead.
Darunia
lol I'd be happy with 3rd best on a test. But yeah, I agree that it's wrong for Milan not to challenge fro the scudetto
