I agree with Paolo. it looked like it was the first time Pato experienced such injury and pain in his career. perhaps he was scared and overacted a little bit?
Anyway, Paolo has lived with these things for as many years as Pato's age, even more! I hope it's like what he says...

Yes, it depends on the individual. But 9 out of 10 times, players get over these quickly... let's hope we're not so unlucky...

Recupero Pato:
Gazzetta saying that only tomorrow we'll know the injury but our medical staff is already preparing a thing to be prepared vs. Arsenal - that's the main goal for them. To rest him vs. Siena, Livorno and Parma but to be ready for London.
Will Carlo use him against Arsenal? I'd be surprised if he did to be honest...

If R99 will be back on top, than Pato will probably be benched against Arsenal (if he's recovered of course)
BTW, Rooney got the same injury at the same way as Pato at the start of this season at was out for a month.
Experts at that time blamed Nike shoes for it. Ironically, Pato wears Nike too
Stupid Nike!! You should have gone Adidas duck, it's the football champions' brand name!

I think there have been a few injuries with players wearing Nike boots...perhaps Ricky could persuade Alex to wear real football boots - Adidas

It could be his boots. but can he switch to Adidas when he's tied to Nike? I don't think Nike would like that idea!

Cristiano Ronaldo wears the exact same model (Mercurial SL) as Pato and he didn't get any injury. Same for Robinho or Ibrahimovic.

Wayne Rooney no. He's nike but it's another model. It's the T90 Laser, same as Fernando Torres, Cannavaro and Gattuso.

So I don't think the boot is any excuse. Robben wears adidas, as Messi, as Kaka' as Del Piero and check out their injury-list (on the first 2 and on the last 2).

Pato faces Arsenal absenceMilan starlet Alexandre Pato could lose the race against time to recover from injury before the Diavolo's Champions League clash against Arsenal.
The Brazilian striker has been a revelation since arriving at San Siro from Internacional at the start of January.
Four goals in six games have made Pato the talk of the peninsula, but he was stretchered off with an ankle injury minutes after he scored the winning goal against Fiorentina last weekend.
Latest reports suggest that Pato could be out of action for around three weeks and will miss out on Milan's trip to London to face Arsenal on February 20
.The Rossoneri medical staff are still conducting tests, but the 18-year-old is now almost certain to miss the Serie A games against Siena, Livorno and Parma.
Pato’s injury is particularly badly timed for Carlo Ancelotti as his side face three fixtures in seven days and there are doubts over Kaka’s fitness after a series of recent niggles.

Well...not exactly nothing. Just no official statement on when he's expected back.
The 'today's training' note has him in the gym with Rino and Janku doing individual work. (note that there wasn't regular training for the team as today is an official rest day)
Galliani has said - and it's been quoted all over the place - that Pato is expected back for the Arsenal games.

Encouraging news from Controcampo today:
[For Pato, there's moderate optimism. After the painful ankle sprain, the improvements of the last 48 hours have been progressive and constant. Tests have excluded serious ligament damage, the ankle is no longer swollen and the pain was gone by Monday, so much that Pato could work for two days doing therapy in the swimming pool. For him, the return could be next Wednesday during the make-up game with Livorno or at the latest, the Sunday game (feb 17) with Parma.]

That's right, it's better for him to start from the bench but he should play the last 20-25 minutes when Arsenal defenders are exhausted. his pace and technique can cause a lot of trouble for them.

Casillas and Ronaldo Top European Team Of January Votes
The best starting eleven in Europe for the month of January - voted for by the writers from the ten publications that fall under the European Sports Magazines umbrella - has been announced today, with Iker Casillas and Cristiano Ronaldo leading the votes.
The team is announced on a monthly basis, and for Janaury, Real Madrid are the best represented team, with three of their players making the eleven.
Goalkeeper Iker Casillas was a universal choice among all the publications except for the Gazzetta Dello Sport, with the Italians voting Juventus keeper Gianluigi Buffon as the best in January.
He was tied at the top of the voting by Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo, with only Don Balón of Spain omitting the Portuguese winger from the team.
Emmanuel Adebayor of Arsenal received six votes, with Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Robinho (Real Madrid), Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United), Mancini (Roma), Esteban Cambiasso (Inter Milan), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Inter) and Alexandre Pato (AC Milan) all tied on five votes.
AC Milan defender Alessandro Nesta also found his way into the team with three votes.
Players who just missed out on the eleven included Karim Benzema (Lyon), Michael Ballack (Chelsea), Guti (Real Madrid), Nihat Kahveci (Villarreal) and Martin Laursen (Aston Villa).

GK Iker Casillas
DF Sergio Ramos
DF Rio Ferdinand
