So he's able to run on that sog-fest of a pitch without any trouble but one good sprint on the San Siro turf and he's out for 3 months...
No one can ever convince me that something wasn't wrong with how he was treated here by our medical staff. Just doesn't make any sense

True, he is yet to get injured like that again. I think he missed a whopping 1 game at some point because of [a different kind of] injury but that's about it. absolutely nothing like what would happen to him at Milan on a regular basis yet.

Former Milan striker Alexandre Pato spoke to SporTV about the injury hell that he experienced at Milan.
"I went through 18 months at Milan where I kept on getting injured. And now everyone can see what's happening there now: the players keep on sustaining injuries. It proves that the physical problems I experienced at Milan weren't my fault. I paid dearly for my injuries and I'm paying a price that doesn't depend on me. I was playing, getting injured, recovering and then going back in to see the physio. It's the fault of the doctors who were forcing me to return to the pitch too soon. The treatment at Milan is different to the one I get here. They work a lot on physique in the gym, swimming pool and physiotherapy. At Milan, they do 20 days of work in just a week, so it's only normal that the body can't handle it. I haven't had any injuries this season."

It seems injuries were a temporary thing, I think his bulking up changed him as a footballer tbh. yeah he'll never be the Pato of Internacional/early Milan days that was quick and comfortable on the ball, but I still haven't lost hope on him being good in front of the goal yet (that doesn't include penalties!).
But again, it's hard to tell since we don't watch him play regularly. a good goal here and a bad miss there doesn't show you the whole picture.

Pato always gets a lot of slack from press and fans... He had it here, he's had it in Brazil. Globoesporte did a piece on him
today, noteworthy because apparently his coach reprimanded him in front of the whole team, calling him "irresponsible brat."
But Pato brings it upon himself. A gold nugget from the article:
QUOTE
If you don't know any portuguese, the paragraph says that the Corinthians fanbase was pissed at Pato because he left hurriedly after (losing) a match in order to go to a Beyoncé concert

Corinthians' ultra fans are threatening their club to sell Pato, now. Apparently they didn't forgive to him the shameful penalty kick against Gremio, which kicked Corinthians out of the Copa do Brasil semi-finals, and furthermore they don't appreciate his extravagant lifestyle. In a recent interview, Pato said that he's very attracted to designer clothes, sports cars and expensive watches, declarations which enraged the fans. One of the phrases they sprayed on the club's offices was "You go to too many parties, the peace is over".

Not selling him to PSG for €35 million becomes a greater mistake as time passes by. I called this sh*t! Not doing the Tevez-Pato "swap" was one the most asinine things ever done by Silvio, yet people were actually happy that we kept the "talent" Pato and didn't sign the "rotten apple" Tevez. Right...

He's not interested in Brazil because it's a step down from Italy. He's gone back to one of the poorest nations on Earth with its backwater league.
He did have talent but sadly succumbed to the glamour of the football superstar lifestyle. Doesn't have the Beckham savvy to get away with it though.

Exactly. Most people blame it on his injuries, which is comprehensible, but the guy's behaviour outside the pitch wasn't exactly impeccable. First getting married at 18 only to file for divorce a year later, then dating the president's daughter, not to mention his going to parties and events even while he was injured. Personally, I believe that someone with a huge desire and motivation would have been able to pull through. Pato just wasn't strong-willed enough. Like you perfectly put it, he succumbed to the glamour of the football superstar lifestyle.
