biggrin.gif I like it. "QUACK QUACK!" cool.gif

I like how Pato never gives up following the ball btw. that's not the first time he scores like this.
amancik
Last season he scored 9 goals in 18 games, which is very good for an 18-year old who just got transferred to one of the biggest clubs in the World.
How much goals do you think he will score this season? Or have you guys thought about loaning him is a better option?
KillerMax
Pato? Loaning? Please be kidding...

I could only imagine the amount of bullets sent to Milan if that happened..

What are you doing on anyways, isn't it like.. 3:30 where you are? Have you not gone to sleep yet, or do you just wake up really early? biggrin.gif
dst
I think Pato is a bit lazy. In the last games of the season he did not seem to give 100%.

Just don't feel like sleeping sometimes... But right on with the time difference calculation...

I've been thinking the exact same thing... He always looks lethargic for some reason and especially after his injury last season he started completely disappearing in games. But on the other hand, he accepts responsibility really well and can lead the attack when needed.

No player is perfect.

Well we can't blame him for being a bit wary of getting another injury after just recovering from one.

He's still young so it's understandable, even experianced players go through this.

I'm counting on 20 goals or more [in all competitions; including friendlies] IF he doesn't get injured too much, or for a long time.

*

Before that ankle injury he looked so charged up but after that his form declined a bit. let's say he's still 18-19 and the pressure of heavy trainings and playing almost two times a week mixed with a few mysterious injuries were too much for him. I think it's unfair and premature to call him lazy.
Jako19
After his injury he didnt start nearly as much, cuz pippo was on such good form. I think that had a little to do with him not goin 100%. He was prolly frustrated about losing his starting spot and it effected his work eithic like it would most 18yr olds.
Zed.D
I'm not sure if he was frustrated about losing his place but he definitely proved Ancelotti wrong in the last game
dst
I'm not saying Ale did not put on much effort deliberately. Maybe he was afraid he would get injured again. But he certainly did not use his abilities so much, especially his pace and acceleration. And he did the same in that friendly game with Brazil against Paraguay. I hope his injury really has not affected him. At least not permanently. It's be a big shame!
amancik
I think he's just being cautious. I mean he's still only 18, being injured is the last thing he wants to happen.

I wasn't kidding when I asked about loaning Pato, pkillermax. I know it's some BS from sites where a rumour has it that Milan could loan it him out if we bring a WC striker. I was just curious about the reaction of you lot about loaning him out.

zdrossoneri, I know you're a big fan of Pato, probably biggest here. I disagree with you one thing though. He will score 20 goals excluding friendlies. devil.gif
KillerMax
Well, I don't know who that source is amanick, but teams very rarely loan out their first team players. In Pato's case, it's out of question.

If we bring a WC striker Paloschi will have to sacrifice his place. that is a certainty. though I hope for a WC striker and Paloschi stay...

And I predicted he'd be as big a hit as Emerson.. I was wrong.

PATO: "I'm happy to start a new season"
7/16/2008

MILANELLO - These are the declarations of Alexandre Pato on the day of the team's gathering at the Rossoneri's sports centre of Milanello: "I'm happy to be here to start a new season and I'm happy about the arrival of Ronaldinho. On Monday I will start my olympic adventure with the shirt of the national team and I thank Milan for offering me this opportunity. First I want to do well with the national team and then with Milan."

Pato: With Dinho we can win it all

Sunday 20 July, 2008

Alexandre Pato trusts with Ronaldinho by his side he can win the Olympics, Scudetto and UEFA Cup.

The Milan starlet will be in Beijing with his new club teammate next month for Brazil’s Olympic squad and believes it’ll be the start of a beautiful partnership.

“With this team, we can win it all. Kaka and Ronaldinho are both very important for Milan, but they play different roles,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Ronaldinho tends to spread out wide more and if Kaka does too, then they’ll both give me the ball in the centre to score. Easy, eh?”

The Selecao trio has sparked a wave of enthusiasm with more than 10,000 season tickets sold since Dinho’s £18m move from Barcelona was confirmed.

“I am ready to train up as a centre-forward. If Carlo Ancelotti sees me in this role, then that is not a problem for me,” continued Pato.

“I am young and want to learn many things, the secrets of the sport. I scored nine goals in half a Serie A season, but I know I can do more. Much more.”

It will be his first full campaign with the Rossoneri, as due to age restrictions he could not sign the contract until he had turned 18.

“The most difficult thing to face was tactical, as in Brazil I was accustomed to running forward and waiting for the long ball from a teammate.

“Ancelotti asked for a different movement, as I have to go towards the ball and then run into space. It took me a while, but I’ve got it now.

“I am happy the way my first Italian season went, but Milan were unable to qualify for the Champions League and that made me very angry. Now I want to help my team get back into the competition.”

Now Pato will have the support of Kaka and Ronaldinho, he pledges to bring a Selecao sensation to San Siro.

“I haven’t changed, but I have grown up and learned what it means to play football in Italy. I can guarantee I’ll improve. You haven’t seen the real Pato yet.” devil.gif

[Robinho? Pato is way better IMO]

Well, Real buy a lot, but not all of them succeed. *cough* Drenthe, Higuain, etc. *cough*.

Drenthe's got potental. hes still just 21. Higuain agreed, Robinho didnt even start performing till 2yrs ago

IMO Pato has more potential than Drenthe and Higuain put together.

Drenthe has got explosive talent. I agree. but that doesn't mean he hasn't failed at Real so far. Higuain... he's not a star striker and he won't become one IMO. he just lacks something!

(Psst, Kurt. Higuain is an Argie, with associated Argie cooties).

As for Pato, I just hope he stays healthy this season and that the Serie A defenders don't invent a 'kick the Duck' game that sees him injured for weeks on end.

The kid is only going to get better and I'm very much looking forward to seeing him play again, especially so I can say QUACKQUACK. smile.gif

i dunno how pato is currently better robinho, he was key factor in real winning the league. arguably their best player last year. although i do belive pato has more potential and will be a star for the future.

point is we need more young talent. we arent going to get by with just pato.

anyways i dont buy into this everything real touches turns to shite outlook. for a while their management was retarded and they can still be asses but they've been buying lots of quality players, all of whom have been contributing.

the only one i can really think of that has been a disapointment is drenthe and well they have so many wide players on the left side of midfield, not much room for him. but he will improve.
dst
Marcelo is certainly not a great player right now. Far from it. But he's very good and if he keeps improving he's certainly going to be among the best.
In my opinion Drenthe has huge potential but he took the step too early... same as Higuain minus the potential...

Of course... Brocchinho is da man!

It's not quite right to compare 18yo Pato with 24yo Robinho [but there's no need to say if I had to choose one, it'd be 18yo Pato - I might be biased, but I'd like to know what others think about it]. Robinho signed signed for Real with sky high expectations [they used to call him "the new Pele" ffs rolleyes.gif] but he hasn't lived up to it yet IMO, despite being one of the key players for Madrid last season. he's inefficient most of times... don't you see he's already under Pato's shadow in Brazil's Olympic team wink.gif

I agree with your point to an extent though. more talents needed [but not as many as Real brings in every few years]. we especially need one for the future of our defense. hope it's gonna be Darmian because there's a lot of time till C.Maldini gets ready cool.gif

I like Higuain, he's rescued Madrid's *** a few times. I only think he lacks that special thing likes of Pato, Benzema, Bojan, etc have. he won't become a world-beater IMO...

Pato>>>>Robinho for me
Jako19
Robinho is my roomys fav player, so i gotta watch him alot, I think hes really good, and currently id say him and Pato are about the same in talent and pace. Sayin that i would def. still take pato cuz hes 5-6yr younger
gal_kenny
Nah Pato is way faster than Robinho..They might have the same talents though...
