Pirlo's request was pretty simple. 3 year contract. Money wasn't even the issue as he's currently getting half of what he did at Milan

But Galliani suddenly decided to implement a 1 year only contract for above 30s as if everyone's case is the same. Allegri also had a huge part of course but let's not get into it because I have so many issues with this guy these days I can barely stand to look at him when the camera pans to him during games

Well you will only make sense of it, when you look at the broader picture and the direction the club has taken.

I for one would have loved for Pirlo to stay on, especially given the exodus of players last summer. But truth be told, Pirlo was not as effective and was rather rusty in his last 3 seasons with us.

On hindsight, you can build a case for almost anything han. 1 year extension is the new policy for the club. Wage cap of 4MM is the highest a player will receive. etc etc.

But of course you will counter this comment of mine and present your argument in the idiotic manner in which this club is managed. But that my friend is only a short-term observation, whereas a long-term plan is well underway.

Yeah that was the big issue. Pirlo based on his previous 3/4 years did not warrant a 3 year extension. When a player refuses a 1 year deal, to me it screams that he does not have confidence in himself anymore. If he did, he'd have just taken it and then another year after that and so on.

For me it's one of those one-third issues. One third of it was Pirlo, another third was the management and another third was Allegri.

But I don't care anymore. Pirlo is a closed chapter for me. I no longer have a favourite player in this Milan team.

It's just ridiculous at this point.

Blaming a loss that was coming either way on a missed penalty, which anyone could have missed since we really don't have a specialist in this team to take them is plain stupid. It was a soft penalty which Pato himself won.

I think fans are just desperate to find scapegoats at this point.

I don't think anyone blames Pato for losing the game. It's rather his appalling performances, accompanied by a very soft attitude, that truly enrage the fans, myself included.

lexandre Pato looks ahead to Napoli-Milan, explains why he took the penalty and denies he was attacked by angry fans.

The striker sat down with Milan Channel just days after a 3-1 home defeat to Fiorentina in which he blasted a penalty over the bar.

“The game didn’t go the way we expected and unfortunately we lost three points at home, but now have to focus on Napoli,” said The Duck.

“I can say we are growing, but cannot keep throwing points away like this. On Saturday we have a very important match with Napoli and must think about winning it.

“I am disappointed at missing the spot-kick, but I am a penalty taker and so am not afraid to miss. If I should find myself on that spot again in future, maybe even against Napoli, I would not pull back.

“I put all of myself into it. Unfortunately the ball went out, but I cannot say I gave it less than 100 per cent, as I practiced it in training.”

Pato was jeered off the field after that miss and substituted at the break, but there were reports he was even surrounded and harassed by angry fans after the game.

“It is impossible not to hear the whistles of the fans and I agree with them, as I know how tough it is for fans accustomed to great victories and important trophies. We are in a growth process and many champions left, so we are doing our best. I’m sure they are close to the team and will never leave us.

“I read someone claimed the fans attacked my car when I was in it, but that’s just not true. I left San Siro the way I usually do and criticism is understandable, but not when they make stuff up.”

Pato missed almost an entire season with muscular problems and has just returned to the field, but is lacking match fitness and sharpness.

“I am back after a long time, but in a way I never left. I have always been here working hard and am back playing on the pitch, which is what makes me happy. When I reach 100 per cent, everything will be fine.

“To those who say I am scared of hurting myself again, I reply that they don’t know me. The only time I was ever afraid was when I was 10 years old and risked losing an arm.

“I have never felt so calm, as I am working well in a great squad with marvellous fans.”

Good job Allegri, yet another player you alienated by unnecessarily dissing him.

"It's Pato's game... He will play... blah blah blah..." Then Kick off and Pato is on the bench. Only to come on when when a player is injured.

Go f@ck yourself Allegri.
Fillipo Simone
Hmh. This could be bad, but Pato should just hold on and wait. First, he should regain his form, then act if Allegri will still give him the cold treatment - or even coach Milan.
kurtsimonw
I think Pato has very little room to complain. His form over the past 18 months has been dreadful and he's been injured more often than not. If Max were to throw him into the team at every opportunity, he would keep getting injured. Even today when he came on as a sub he didn't like fine come the final whistle.

While I'm sad at this situation with Pato, it is not entirely Allegri's fault. El Sharaawy is untouchable at the moment, and people have been critisizing Allegri for not playing Bojan more often, that leaves the right forward position which I don't think Pato will do well there.

Bojan could easily play on the right and Pato as CF. But anyway, I agree with Kurt, not to mention that Pato in those games he's played so far has been quite dreadful.
servbot
Should Bojan get time ahead of Pato IF Pato is fit and ready to play though? There's not really any chance Bojan is around more than this season anyways...if Pato gets back to form we will want to lock him up for a few more years.
kurtsimonw
I think X-Off was right when he said our biggest mistake recently was not letting Pato go last January. His stock is at an all-time low at the moment so I don't see us getting the 35m or whatever it was that PSG offered. What's worse now is that if he does want out, it makes our bargaining position even worse.

It's like nothing can go right for us lately. dry.gif

Don't we have full ownership of Bojan now? I thought I read that recently. Could be wrong. Either way, Pato is definitely not fully fit so for now it is a moot point.
Jack Sparrow
We don't have full ownership on Bojan. We will need to pay 12 million to buy him from Barca, but Barca do keep first option to refuse and then take him back. 'Officially' he is on loan to us from Barca for a 'fee'.

Pato does not deserve to start. But his gripe might be with the second class treatment. Saying Pato would start and then benching him smacks of either indecision or a lack of transparency. Both are huge negatives for a manager of a top team.
Zed.D
^^ Exactly. and this was an away game, I can't see him starting the next game at San Siro either.

He was injured all the time. now that it "seems" injuries are behind him, it's Max's turn to make things hard for him. he was never going to rediscover his form after 2 years of injuries with 5 games. it takes a while and if the coach doesn't put his trust in him, he will never get there. and unfortunately Allegri doesn't seem to know how it's done at all. as Jack said his pre-game words on Pato and his team selection and actions during the game says it all.

TBH my gut feeling is that $#!t£€gr! never liked the kid. Even in our first year when iBra-Robinho was his decided striking partnership, Pato had to live off the dregs in terms of playing time.

Benching him all game and choosing Niang over him, no disrespect to the kid, is downright insulting. So is the immediate benching for missing a penalty. So is the declaration that this was to be his game then afterthought substitution. Pato is no saint and has his own culpability. But to suffer 3 years under this n00b charlatan is too much for most.

Allegri may well be the worst man manager of all time cool.gif

Pato and Allegri have a history between them so should this really surpise anyone?

And how could you justify Allegri not playing him because he was out of form when Allegri has insisted on playing the likes of Urby, Bonera, etc when they've been playing like sh!t as well? And how do you expect Pato to get back into form after nearly a year out when he's not playing regularly?

The debate about Bojan is simple. Play Bojan wide (where he is 100% more effective) and play Pato in his natural position which is as a striker. Allegri has done countless things to accomodate the likes of Urby and Boateng to play in attack when they're not even fit for those positions. It's just ridiculous to try to justify Allegri's decisions a this point no matter how out of shape Pato still is (which is understandable considering his injuries)

For those who are ok with this, think of all the other good players Allegri alienated over the span of his stay at Milan and ask yourself was it worth it to lose these players over this mediocre mid-table coach who won't bother to pull his head out of his @ss to do what's best for the team and instead is more interested in stroking his own ego by discarding the stars in this team?

Exactly!!!!!

If $h!tlegri was consistent in any form or fashion then he'd actually be in the right here but he can't say $h!t

If he was such a disciplinarian, he'd have benched iBra when he missed the crucual penalty or when he started acting up. Instead he put up with EVERYTHING iBra did because iBra was actually keeping him employed

If he was in the slightest way fair he'd have benched Prince a looong time ago when he was utter and complete sh!t to send a message to him that he needs to shape up....same for Bonera....same for...Urby etc.

Certain players have gotten a lot of patience, assistance etc and the MINUTE something happens with the other players....they get tossed to the wolves.

in Pato complained about Allegri not being clear on what he wanted from him nearly two years ago. I don't think anyone knows the answer to that question

  1. Real Milan fans know that $h!tlegri said that this could be Pato's match before he benched him again.
  2. Pato got tossed for missing ONE penalty as if better players haven't as well
  3. Playing Niang instead of him when we needed goals then using the BS excuse "Niang" would have fit in better
  4. Pato complaining about a lack of direction...since 2011.
  5. Record number of muscle injuries under $h!tlegri...just a conicidence? what about having to change training methods due to injuries? What about the large amount of our guys getting injured in training? Playing an INJURED Silva? Naaaah it's not $h!tlegri's fault
  6. Playing the SMALLEST and WEAKEST forward out of position just not to start Pato...you think he doesn't notice it?
  7. Serial underperformers (Boateng, Bonera, Urby) go untouched but the instant Pato has trouble he is thrown to the wolves?

This was exactly the same sort of thing he did to Ronaldinho.

Exactly. Allegri doesn't seem to care if his favorite players are underperforming, he'll still field them. But as soon as someone he doesn't like/trust makes a couple of mistakes, he's immediately given the cold treatment. I'm the first to say that Pato has been a disappointment so far, and if he doesn't get his act together, then he shouldn't play. But, shouldn't this logic also apply to the various Bonera, Nocerino, Boateng, Emanuelson etc? Yet, how come they nearly always play? How come Zapata, who's been pretty good in those few matches he's played, keeps getting ignored on a regular basis? It's not right. Allegri should think about the well-being of the team rather than pleasing his own intentions.

Right now I can't see how this Milan-Pato thing can end well. Pato is at fault, Allegri is at fault. MilanLab is at fault... it's become one of those situations that things just don't work anymore and everyone shares a bit of the blame.

Pato's goal last night actually made me sad. because he went from the player that could give SES a run for his money in terms of quality and class when he was his age, to this striker that only seems to be capable of tap-in goals and not much else. not to mention he always looks like he's about to pick up another muscle injury and that's just frustrating.

Personally I don't mind selling him anymore because I think he can start doing well again somewhere else, and we have a perfect replacement for him in SES. btw, I wish we had never changed his number. it looks like another desperate move to make things work, like a new "birth" or something. it backfired completely.

All that needs to be done is to remove the cancer we are currently living with and that is Allegri. Once that is done you will see a lot of players being happier and content again.

Allegri has a track record of having trouble with every big name we've had on the team, and what's worse is that he has a great track record of managing to get rid of all those players as well.

I mean when was the last time that you heard of a gentleman like Nesta FFS butting heads with his coach. It's unheard of, yet voila! Allegri managed it. Milan have released a statement assuring Alexandre Pato only picked up a knock against Anderlecht and “tests did not show muscular lesions.”

There were fears the Brazilian had injured himself again during last night’s 3-1 win in Brussels when scoring the final goal.

However, the club announced this evening that Pato “received a bruise to the left thigh. Medical tests did not show muscular lesions.”

It is also believed that Philippe Mexes only lightly sprained his knee and has not done serious damage.

I believe Pato to be an exteremely talented player; his experience alone in his career with Milan is HUGE, from post our CL win we got him. He was rather explosive, just like SES now from the offset, this comes to mind from the offset 18 years of age.

He is 23 years old. Five years of experience on the highest of levels - maybe not in merits, but certainly he must have learned something from Maldini, Seedorf, Kaka, Ronaldinho, Beckham, Inzaghi, yadda yadda .. The kid will explode, forwards generally hit their prime late 20's.

Still, I wont risk to gamble on an asset that could very well have a market-value of anywhere between 25-35MM, we sell the kid and he can probably do better as you said.

Exactly, and I believe if he opens another loosing streak of two/three games, he will be shown the door. Galliani acting like Allegri will be at Milan for life, generally lasts to the next transfer window if I'm not mistaken?

Jack Sparrow
Galliani is one shrewd mofo. If Allegri does not have the team at his back, then saying his position is doubtful will only make them underperform even more.

I said this before the Anderlecht match, that the next three matches (Anderlecht, Juve, Catania) would see Allegri's fate. Imo a WDW, will see Allegri continue. Perhaps even a WLW.

Look, I don't hate Allegri. I wanted him to replace Carlo. But I do think he is too rigid.

Carlo was rigid, Allegri is just not on our level. He's from a different world, like Mesbah when defending.

Re: the Pato leaving story...

He will NEVER be fully fit or realise his potential with us. It's a marriage which hasn't worked out and in the way Pirlo turned to crap here and then went onto be great for Juve, it will probably happen with Pato.

He has so much potential but he cannot stay fit nor retain form. If he could he has the stuff to be as good as anyone out there. But he can't.

As for the agent stuff - he seems fit for now, and yet still cannot hold down a place. When he has played he's shown brief glimpses of quality but seems months off the old Pato.

I can't condone the insults if true, and I think that banner is pathetic, but this one is unlikely to end well.
