Sorry for the scare. Agreed on the video not capturing all of his 'very' best moments, but I was still so touched I just had to post and share it. I also hope he can make a comeback some day with us &. I wish him all the well regardless.

No point in celebrating if someone leaves the club for €15 million when he could have been sold exactly one year ago for €35 million.

The difference is by selling him to Corinthians we got ourselves the right of first refusal. that wouldn't have happened with PSG.

That indicates to me that his chapter with us is not over yet. unless, of course, he can't regain his best form.

As official as official gets. smile.gif There is still a part of me that believes this guy will be back in Milan. From what I've gathered, we can get him back at the same price we sold him for if we want. If we don't, then Pato remains sold.

Haha, I actually meant that in jest. tongue.gif laugh.gif You know, how things are run at Milan, how Galliani and Berlusconi say one thing and the reality is totally 180 degrees off. And sometimes things are not even official, just a gentleman's agreement, and they go through. Some may say, it's the Italian way, but we, as fans, have had to suffer quite a bit.

Still, the thing with Pato is that it could go either way, we may want to get him back if he gains his fiery form. But all of that is up in the air for now, I don't think he's leaving Brazil before the 2014 World Cup anyway.

We never reveal the details of our ingoing and outgoing players but when you have Berlu saying that Pato has promised to "come back" in one and a half years, you know it's probably true.

What's with the sign language celebration...? biggrin.gif

I'm more interested to see him play games and stay injury-free than score goals. that's the more important thing IMO because he has proven himself at the highest level. it's the injuries that held him back.
dst
hey that's very similar to one of the goals he's scored with us, I can't remember against who it was? Sampdoria?

if we bring him back, are we also gonna buy brazilian football grass and team doctors?
Zed.D
Yep, Sampdoria in the Coppa. though that goal came after an exquisite nutmeg.

MilanLab's fault.

A sprained ankle could happen to anyone, it could happen to me by simply getting out of bed next morning and landing wrongly on it.

The most important thing is his muscle problems have so far not cropped up again in Brazil
X-Offender

Yep, a sprained ankle is not worrying. I'm still waiting for that thigh muscle problem [not] to happen...

Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato has admitted he will 'never forget' the support of the Milan fans.

The Brazilian forward left the Rossoneri in January after six years at San Siro, but he has insisted that his mind is focused on the present, and has ruled out a return to the club.

“I will never forget the support of Milan,” he told reporters. “They were a team that gave me so much.

“I got there when I was 17, but I have never said anything about a return.

“I have a four-year contract with Corinthians and I am very happy here.

“My head is on the present.”
Zed.D
Well, it's normal that he says this. he can't say "I hope to return to Milan soon" or something like that.

That said, the more time passes, the more I get this feeling that his chapter at Milan is closed for good.
Fillipo Simone
I don't think so. As you said, he sure as hell can't say "I'll be back as soon as possible", but he didn't do anything to deny a possible return.
X-Offender
Looks like this time he got injured for real.

Pato on target but injured in Corinthians win

SAO PAULO, March 13 (Xinhua) -- Brazil internationals Alexandre Pato and Paulinho were both on target as Corinthians defeated Tijuana 3-0 in their Copa Libertadores Group 5 clash on Wednesday.

Former Milan striker Pato bundled in from close range after Renato Augusto's fierce strike rebounded off the bar before Peru forward Paolo Guerrero made it 2-0 with a sublime first-time turn and finish following Alessandro's cross.

Midfielder Paulinho scored the Brazilian outfit's third at the Pacaembu Stadium stadium by heading in after an Augusto set-piece.

The victory was soured slightly by the latest setback to the injury-prone Pato, who was substituted in the first half with a right thigh strain.

The 23-year-old was playing in his 11th consecutive match, a feat he had not achieved since 2009 due to a series of muscle problems.

Defending champions Corinthians are now second in the Group 5 standings, two points behind top-placed Tijuana.

In other matches on Wednesday, Ronaldinho's Atletico Mineiro overcame The Strongest 2-1, Olimpia trounced Deportivo Lara 5-1 and Toluca held Barcelona de Guayaquil to a goalless draw.

Bolded the important parts.

^^ Not apparently. as you may know he played in Corinthians' last game, won and converted a penalty ( ohmy.gif ) as well.

Why doesn't he miss many weeks through thigh injuries anymore? I demand an answer!!

That report was from more than two weeks ago.

I know, but that report made it sound like his injury could've been serious. if it was, he wouldn't have played last week or whenever that game was.

Nice to see him regaining his touch. it doesn't matter if it's against a random South American team, he proved his talent at Milan against good teams.

Every time there's a new post in here I click expecting to see the news of a bad injury but no, that stuff only happened at Milan. injury prone player my thumb.
X-Offender
But when he was with us he always got injured. That's enough for me to sell someone. Doesn't matter whose fault it is, the player's or the medical staff's. Not to mention all his injuries have turned him into a mediocre player.

Yeah .. Could very well be his body is not accustomed to the strain of Serie A. The heavy training, the hard tackles and not to mention the constant kicks that strikers get (especially when the ref is not looking) without the ball.

I hope he comes back, as he is a champion of a player, one that has always been in line and never caused controversy. Especially at his age. Again, I hope he comes back in the next couple of seasons.
Zed.D
He was doing fine in the "tough" Serie A before the bulking up... we messed him up through bad treatment. that's what still bothers me.

Sad but true. sleep.gif I'm still hoping he can pick himself up. it's only been ~5 months since he's been free of injuries and playing with some regularity. I'm not sure if someone can lose their talent so as long as he can make full physical/mental recovery he should be fine. if he doesn't have the strength to do it then what a waste.

Milan to recall Pato?
By Football Italia staff

There are reports Alexandre Pato will return to Milan this summer due to Giampaolo Pazzini’s injury, just five months after joining Corinthians.

Pazzini will be out of action for four to six months after undergoing knee surgery this week.

It leaves the Rossoneri with a striker shortage and rather than bring in another new player, the Corriere dello Sport claims they will recall Pato.

Milan President Silvio Berlusconi was always adamant the move to Corinthians was temporary and that he’d return to San Siro in two years.

The calendar could be moved forward by the Pazzini situation, at least for six months until the Italian international can return to fitness in January.

Pato requested a move to Brazil so he could regain his fitness ahead of the World Cup and because he missed his homeland.

The 23-year-old is still dating Barbara Berlusconi, the daughter of Milan President Silvio.

Other options include former Milan forwards Alessandro Matri and Marco Borriello, now at Juventus and Genoa respectively.

BS. if we had loaned him, maybe, but we can't do anything now.

With Pazzini out injured till January, Niang absolutely incapable of playing any football, SES not having scored a goal in many, many games and having played like **** in most of them, and with Balo not being the kind you can rely on, we obviously need a striker. a good one at that, which automatically rules out Bori and Matri.
kurtsimonw
I do like Matri and he reminds me a little of Pazzini in that he never actually gets a chance and when he does he more often than not will get you a goal. I think it also says a lot of how crap we are at developing players that Matri is about the best Milan academy player out there right now.

The best out of the academy are with us already. Abate and DS.

Matri, as I've always maintained is pretty mediocre. Pazzini is easily the better player between the 2, and you know I was never a huge fan of his. But at least with Pazzo you know what you're getting. Consistant, hard work and effort. Matri is simply a poacher who goes through erratic patches of form.

By "out there" I meant not at the club.

Matri's inconsistant form is mostly down to him not really getting a run in the team. His last full season at Cagliari and his final half season at Cagliari/first half season with Juve he got over 20 goals I think, because he played every game, even if it was with 2 bad teams.

Matri's record this season is a goal every 125 minutes. It shows he takes his chances and to be fair to him, it's even harder when you're getting 15/20 minutes every now and then and very few starts. Yeah you don't like stats, but minutes per goal is exactly that, he's scoring at a very good rate, you can't really put that down.
