Who said anything about doing it on your own?

This conversation is proving quite tricky because I have perpetuated several concepts yet you have managed to misread a lot of them!

I said that the WHOLE forum should discuss and agree on compiled rules - which we ALL contribute - and then one mod pastes them into the rules.

The currents are out of date, and as far as I am concerned this board is unique in that there are plenty 'normal' users who have just as much right to suggest laws and conduct as those in 'power' do. Not every other forum has that sort of parity among users.

Right, I am putting this to a poll suggestion and I'd really appreciate it if you'd oblige and start a poll based on it:

Please go into the poll section and start the following polls (I'd do it myself but naturally lack the privilege):

Poll 1: 'Do you feel the current rules should be amended to reflect the board as it stands today?'

Yes
No

Poll 2: 'If yes, should all members and staff contribute and create a unified rule set which we all agree on or should it be left purely to staff to make the alterations they see fit?'

All staff and members work together
Leave it to the staff

Would appreciate these polls being set up.

Well you weren't the one that suggested the discussion thread, you were asking me about the rules and if I can edit them or not, which is why I told you that even if I do have that ability, I'm not going to just do that on my own. And even max didn't really say that it should be a thread about rules per se

I think the polls are a good idea, I'll open them a bit later as I have to head out soon
Danny
Sounds good. I think a few wee changes are needed!

Official: Pato joins Corinthians
By Football Italia staff

Alexandre Pato has officially completed his transfer from Milan to Corinthians for €15m, pending a medical.

The striker had made it clear he wanted a return to Brazil this month and negotiations were finalised with Vice-President Adriano Galliani this evening.

At 21.00 GMT Corinthians announced the deal was complete and released a picture of Pato wearing their team jersey.

“Over the next few days Pato will undergo medical tests and sign the four-year contract. Corinthians have bought 100 per cent of the economic rights of Pato for €15m.”

The statement also confirmed in future sales, Corinthians are to gain 60 per cent of the rights and Pato would get 40 per cent.

Hm... don't know what to say, yeah Berlu said Pato had told them he'd come back but right now I feel it's pure BS and he's gone for good.

I feel like **** to be honest.

Alexandre Pato has said goodbye after agreeing a move to Corinthians. “I am going to Brazil to play consistently, but it won’t be easy to forget Milan.”

This evening both clubs released statements confirming a €15m transfer has been agreed pending a medical and he will sign a four-year contract.

Instead of a signing-on fee, Pato has secured 40 per cent of any future sale.

“I wish to salute, but above all to thank, everyone,” wrote Pato in an open letter on the Milan website.

“From the President to the many people I worked with in these unforgettable years at Milan.

“I am going to Brazil, to Corinthians, so I’ll have the opportunity to play consistently. It won’t, however, be easy to forget Milan.

“I am and always will be very tied to this jersey, the club colours and all the Rossoneri fans. Above all at this moment my thoughts and my biggest thanks go to them.”

Pato arrived at San Siro as a 17-year-old, but at the age of 23 his career has been blighted by a series of muscular injuries.

Very sad. Wish him all the best, hope some day he'll overcome the injury bug.

Abbiati will surely be let go, as his contract also ends. Don't know about Ambro, but I'd keep him, only as a symbol of the old Milan.

He doesn't mention anything about promising to come back. I guess the old man was being his politician self when he said that.

We'll see. I'd also keep Ambrosini, and sign maybe Consigli from Atalanta.

I'm not sad at all. Pato offered nothing to us in the last 12-15 months, and he was headed towards a very dark road. If anything, we should be happy for him. Hopefully his problems will be solved in the next two years, and maybe we'll sign him back. This was the best solution for everyone.
Fillipo Simone
Happy for him? I don't know. I'm sad Milan lost a symbol and a true sign of hope, a torch barer (as he always seemed to me). I'm sad that his career so far was nothing but troubled with constant injuries. I'm sad that we've lost the one player closest a "homegrown" talent, even though we signed him for much money.
X-Offender
Pato stopped being a sign of hope a long, long time ago. At least for me.
Zed.D
It had not been working out for him at Milan since the start of the last season (he was still good in, and contributed to, our Scudetto winning season). there are enough reasons to believe that if he were to go back to Europe, his destination would be Milan. all depends on whether he can regain his form (both physically and more importantly IMO, mentally). but he couldn't be at a better place now to achieve that, we can all agree on that.

Sad times but its good for him , being at Milan was not doing him any good whether our physio's were inept or we built him up to in the wrong way and his body just could not physically take the strain. I don't recall how he was in injury terms before he came to Milan it seems like such a long time when he first joined.

Anyway GL to him hopefully he comes back fighting he was a pleasure to watch.

I think barely can be used there depending upon what you're attempting to convey. Saying he was barely injured would be a comment on the severity of his injuries while saying he was rarely injured would be a comment on his frequency of injury. Both statements are arguably true. The severity and frequency of Pato's injuries have been depressingly high the past two years.

'He was barely injured' refers to a single incident. So therefore the context must be a specific injury already being discussed or being referred to for the first time. 'He was barely inured' as a standalone statement without prior or following context is a vague sentence without much meaning. 'He was was barely injured in his first two seasons' doesn't make sense.

Pato is such a tragic tale. He could have been a truly remarkable forward for us. A special striker with everything in his locker.

It just didn't work out. For whatever reason he lost form and got injured.

I think it's best for everyone concerned that he left - he goes with my best wishes and I know he did it with a heavy heart.

Best of luck to him and I hope he recaptures his old self, if there ever was one, and realises that incredible potential.

So true sad.gif

I'm just curious to see how he does with a different medical team/training regiment etc.

If he has a reletively more normal injury timeline then it will become pretty obvious that his problems were directly related to the medical/fitness treatment he received at the Club

We'll see.

This change in atmosphere will surely do him a world of good. But once again, we can only determine whether he's still capable of playing professional football after the next 2 seasons or so in Brazil
