I've always liked Trez but now I'd much rather we keep Hunter instead of selling him and signing Trez. I can't stand this "Old Milan | Retirement Home" thing anymore!
As for the meeting in Via Turati, well, I like the De Ceglie bit. but are Juve willing to to let him go? (ie, have they gone totally out of their minds?)

Secco was never the brightest crayon in the box, zeddie. They might let De Ceglie go. Why we'd be interested in a (even if he's cheap) striker who's out injured more than Van Persie is for Arsenal, however, is beyond me.

Juve have spent a lot last summer and got nothing for it. I reckon they have to sell to buy now. Doesn't surprise me. I'd take Marchisio in a heart beat, but then he's the best of a bad bunch, and they won't sell for a sane price. Not too fond of Melo to be honest, and he'd cut space for Flamini, though I think he'll be a much better bodyguard for Pirlo than Flamini will be.

Apr 22 2010, 05:52 AM
If we are making a purchase for the future, I don't know if we should include 'bodyguard for Pirlo' in the requirements seeing as how he is on the wrong side of 30 and out of form as of late. Perhaps he is just not motivated anymore which could be the case. Hopefully he'll shine at the WC and bring the awesomeness back to Milan with him.
Jack Sparrow
Apr 22 2010, 06:36 AM
Don't expect him to shine too much really. That whole national team has come down in leaps and bounds since 2006. They'll make the quarters at best is what I think.
You're in with a point about not bringing in a bodyguard. Though I think Pirlo not being an 'athletic player' can easily carry on for 6 years. The thing is the current set up doesn't suit him.
There's an entirely static team infront of him, and a player whose main strength is exploiting gaps and open spaces with his passing is useless in such a formation.
I daresay you could put Xavi instead of Pirlo and even he would suffer. But even now Pirlo's able to play the metronome pretty well. Up the tempo, down the tempo etc.
I think I already posted about why I think perhaps we should sell him now. We bought him for 18 million Euros and I think we can still sell him for 15, and consider it a good deal.

I hope Italy go out in the group stage and that Pirlo gets sent off so barely plays if I'm honest. The guy rarely ever gets a rest, the only time he seems to get one is if he's injured. It'd be interesting to see how many games he's played since the start of the 2005/06 season, I bet it's a stupid amount if you count in Internationals too.

Studio Sport said we'll be getting 30m to invest this summer. I see no point in spending 10-12m for a goalie. Abbiati is just fine and Storari is an excellent sub. We should definitely try to sign Hernanes and a fullback, possibly Rafinha or Aogo. Also, we could easily snap free agents like Goulon and Cacau.
However, first things first, we should get rid of all the garbage in the trunk: Dida, Onyewu, Favalli, Kaladze, Oddo, Jankulovski and Seedorf.

Well, my first choice would be Bonucci. He's a great centerback and would fit Nesta's shoes perfectly after Sandro retires. I wouldn't bet on Mexes cause his performance has dropped lately and he's injury-prone too. However, so far it looks like we'll just have to please ourselves with Astori and Yepes, which obviously is not enough.

Balotelli seeks to leave Inter after Barca incidents
April 22, 2010
Mario Balotelli has reportedly handed in a transfer request after the events that followed Inter Milan's 3-1 victory over Barcelona at the San Siro.
Balotelli was booed by his own fans after a speculative shot late on in the game and he threw down his shirt at the final whistle. The striker was criticised by a number of his team-mates after the game and security had to protect him from angry supporters as he left the stadium.
Gazzetta dello Sport has now reported that Balotelli has handed in a transfer request, although club president Massimo Moratti is hopeful the issue can be resolved.
"Now it's difficult to mend," he said on Football Italia. "It's not impossible, but something will have to give. It's as if Balotelli committed suicide in public.
"But I have faith in him and I don't intend to sell him. I don't know if he'll play against Atalanta. There is a lot to do. We'll see."
Balotelli, meanwhile, has said he wants to prove he can be the best player in the game despite recent negative headlines.
"I am ready to become the greatest player in the world," he told Sky Italia. "I am relaxed and nothing has changed. Since childhood I have had this dream and I have no intention of messing it up."

As gifted as Balotelli is as a player...after this last incident I'm again not sure I would want him. While I suspect that the jersey tossing might have been part of a planned exit strategy (I think he's wanted out most of the season, easier to do when the club wants you out too), the throwing of one's jersey to the ground is just Not Cool. It's gone a little too far. And if inert are mad enough to want to sell to us, I doubt we'd want to fork over their asking price.

Inter's Balotelli attacked over gesture to fans
April 20, 2010
Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic said after his side's Champions League defeat that Inter defender Marco Materazzi attacked team-mate Mario Balotelli in the players' tunnel.
Ibrahimovic said that he saw what happened after Balotelli had thrown off his jersey in anger and gestured to the Inter fans after the final whistle.
"I saw that Materazzi was attacking him in the players' tunnel and I've never seen anything like it," Ibrahimovic told RAI. "If I were him, I'd have left Mario alone, but Materazzi was attacking him and I was stunned. If Materazzi had attacked me like that, I would've decked him in a second!
"Materazzi was causing all sorts of trouble and in the Barcelona locker room we were amazed, all talking about it. A player should be proud after a win, not chase down a 20-year-old to berate him."
Inter players and officials have rounded on Balotelli, who seemed to be angered by a less than warm welcome from the Inter fans when he was substituted on late in the match. Serie A bad boy Balotelli, who has never been a crowd favourite at Inter, volleyed wide in the dying minutes and received another round of jeers. The crowd treatment was no excuse for his behaviour, according to team-mates.
Captain Javier Zanetti said: ''(I am) disappointed that a celebration was ruined with something like this. If the fans whistle at him he's got to understand that it could depend on a lot of different things. We've always stood by him.''
The Daily Telegraph quoted Stankovic as saying: "He's like a child. I'm a father of three kids and we can't take him by the collar, too. He's suffered, but I've suffered too with the fans. He's reacted poorly, but he's still got time.''
Manager Jose Mourinho also had words for substitute Balotelli after the whistle.
"I have been at Inter since July 2008," he said. "If I try to remember all the times I've tried to educate a great talent, there are thousands and thousands. This is a Champions League semi-final, the second most important tie in club football, and something ugly happened."
Inter CEO Ernesto Paolillo says the club will definitely be taking action against the player over the gesture.
"Balotelli's gesture was terrible. Just terrible," he said. "It is something we are going to have to discuss. Will he be punished? Absolutely, yes."

If we're willing to spend 20-25m for Balotelli, I'd spend them for Dzeko instead. Although it's undeniable Balotelli has great skills and talent, his attitude is very annoying. Not only outside the field, but even when he's playing, all he does is mostly walk and dive. He looks like he's unwilling to help the team. But maybe that's because he fucking hates Inter! If he comes to Milan, the team he's always supported, he might change radically, you never know.

It's hard to say really. Mancini should be better, especially a better winger. While Cacau showed way more this season than Mancini and is more a forward than a winger but as striker as in finishing I don't like him too much. Cacau impressed this season, but really is not that good. Mancini hasn't impress in a very long time, but used to be very good what Cacau never was and never will be.
