Yeah i can really see you guys doing that. Christ we lose 1 game and half the forum thinks we're in crisis!!
Yes i'm all for promoting the youth and have said so on many occasions and often questioned why we weren't producing the players....so in theory good idea in practice not sure how many "fans" would have the patience and don't forget the immortal quote......"We are Milan after all"
not a criticism just food for thought

I fully agree.
I will admit I was one of those that said "We are Milan afterall" and that we shouldn't lose and its all silvio fault etc etc.
But i've come to realise it solves nothing, all it does is create scapegoats towards people who could care less. We as fans need to realise this club's belongs to its supporters and not one single entity.
Bashing Silvio will solve nothing. We need to look at our situation and realise that we have no money, our owner who injected cash into our club for 25 years has stopped, we are an old squad, we have a poor mgmt in terms of backroom stuff, we have poor stadium attendance, we have an unbalanced wage bill, we barely have any sponsors.
These problems run deep but they are slowly getting fixed.
The positives:
1) We have bought a youth system. I give full credit to Galli, Pederzoli and Stroppa for the fine work they've done so far. I would say with the youth we have coming up, I'd place us in the top 10 best youth academies in the world.
2) Our club's financial structure is in good health in comparison to others. We are very forunate because we've mainly bought players for the last 25 years instead of tried to grow our own talent. Madrid has done a similar thing and they will eventually pay the price for their massive debt.
3) We have 7 champions league trophies

We need to realize what the significance of that.
4) Poor mgmt. This is a part of the club that needs to be addressed and it has been getting addressed slowly. We are rapidly building youth projects all over the world and promoting the milan style. We have strived to bring in more sponsors. We are playing more and more freindly matches, making us a marketable product. We are already going hardcore into the USA market. We just need to breach Japan and China.
5) MilanLab. As it stands currently, we have the best Sports Science research development centre in the world for soccer. According to the book "Soccernomics" We are the only club in the world to be able to have several players at the age of 30+ sustain consistent performances at the highest level and feature regularly in our starting line up. Most other clubs will have 1 or 2 at most.
So all in all its not all gloom and doom. Yes we are going to suffer for a few years. This is given, lets not deny it or try and sugar coat it. The possibility of us finishing under 4th place is very possible. But thats what a soccer club is.
There are the dark years, then the domination years, then the dark years.
