Plus Kuyt's a worker, which we don't really have in any of our strikers (maybe Bori but Kuyt could play closer to mid.)
Fillipo Simone
I don't like Kuyt that much - I'd still prefer Dzeko or Rossi over him anyday.

Agreed, yes Kuyt works his @ss off but other then that I don't see anything special in him, he's not a great goal scorer, not really skillfull and has ok passing abilities

Babel just isn't a talented footballer.

He's tall and quick, so throughout his youth days he could just beat people with either speed or strength. Now he actually has to have some sort of footballing ability he's failing badly.

+100

PLEASE no Babel at Milan, yuck puke.gif

Overrated player since his Ajax days.

Same.

Am I mixing you up with someone else? cause I thought you didn't use to rate (or like) Kuyt... unsure.gif
Anyway, I think he proved he's a very good footballer at the World Cup. is he better than Rossi or Dzeko? IMO no. but if we can't get players of that caliber, then I wouldn't mind Kuyt at Milan.

LMAO @ the highlighted part and the capitalized exclusively!

They're so embarrassing sometimes it's sad. do they think people are stupid? I'm sure I read about the Honda rumor way before it was even mentioned on that site. they copy/paste/translate from gazzetta, mediaset, etc (sometimes even Football Italia!!) and still manage to come up with delusional we're-the-center-of-world-football claims like this.

They deserve a special 'puke' smiley for this one.

Fillipo Simone
I don't think Kuyt is a player Milan's gameplay would especially support. He's not an ideal Milan deal, an also not an ideal player for Allegri's style, at least according to what I've seen and heard.

I think he's a very good footballer but I agree, he may not be suited to our (or Allegri's) style of play. if he isn't however, I can't see how Rossi is.

How's this?

In other news, Tuttomercatoweb quotes qsvs as saying that Milan are very close to signing Honda. link

They also quote Radio Marca (yes, I know. bad source) as saying Milan are interested in Rafael Van der Vaart. link

And they quote Rino's agent as saying he and Rino will meet with the club next week. link

They also quote Corriere (yes, bad source) as saying that Milan are interested in Lille midfielder Mavuba. Or maybe Anderlecht midfielder Kouyate. link

And finally they quote the Sun (oy) as saying that Villa are after Flamini. link

Dracoris
Honda's agent denies everything but says that we were in contact with him a few weeks ago and said we needed to sell players before we could make a move for him.

Kolarov leaves Serie A. what a shame that is. I always hoped we'd sign him... would have been great with him in the left, Silva in the right and Nesta-Papa in the center. *sigh*

I bet Vargas is next.

Why do you wanna play Thiago Silva as right back? He is our best defender (along Nesta); therefore he needs to play in central defense. Sokratis can play right back also.

Antonini (left back), Thiago Silva and Nesta (central defense), Sokratis (right back) would make a million times more sense to me.

The thinking there is that Thiago is skillful enough to play there, he likes to bomb forward and technically he's a very good player.

But I agree with you, no sense disrupting the CB pairing to move Thaigo to RB. Why create a problem in the center of defence arguably one of the most important areas of the team to maybe plug a hole in the FB area which isn't as important. Would anyone ever dream of putting Nesta at RB? No because it's ridiculous to waste such a good CB by pushing him out wide.
Fillipo Simone
Our defense is one fullback away of being a very strong one.

Oddo, I still hope will turn his recent run of terrible matches. But the one thing I won't accept is that Abate is a RB. If Milan do the same again, and field an offensive right midfielder for most of the matches this season - we will loose our credibility completely.
X-Offender
What's wrong with fielding a side midfielder as fullback? Barcelona do it with Dani Alves, Real Madrid do it with Marcelo/Drenthe, Brazil do it with Michel Bastos etc. As far as the player is good enough, it's all well. And seriously, Abate > Oddo, big time.

I actually enjoy the Barcelona press' articles - they're more creative than those of the Madrid press (Mundo Deportivo and Sport are the Barcelona papers, Marca and As are the Madrid papers). Seems like Barca are really desperate to get rid of Ibra, but nobody's willing to meet their asking price and/or Ibrahimovic's wage demands.
d'Arc.LP
What's so funny in there ?

I wouldn't mind that transfer deal.

Silva costs no more than 30 mil. and Ibrahimovic costs way more than 30 mil.

What's not funny about it?

It's another press invention. Why would we give them Silva for that mercinary? His wage demands would be huge, demands that we will never meet. Thiago is younger as well and atm I think he'd cost more then Ibra. Not because he's the better player, but Barca seem desperate to get rid of him, that right there lowers his price by considerable margins, and really good CBs are hard to come by these days, thus increasing their price.

Anyways, it's funny because it's never going to happen. I don't understand all this Ibra to Milan talk, we had the chance to get him off Juve but we wasted it, that chapter is over we should move on. The guy is not worth the trouble.

If we could get Ibrahimovic and give them Silva I know we would have problems with the defence. That could be solved cos' Mexes is ready to leave Rome. We also have 2 perfect backups for our CB's. Than we could sell Huntelaar and invest those money on Ibras wage and Mexes's transfer. Still my personal opinion is that we should sign Ibra.

EDIT:

Galliani: Ronaldinho is staying, we will sign no one - link

How does that sound even remotely logical? Mexes to replace Silva? Mexes isn't half the defender Silva is, he isn't even a regular at Roma, because get this, Burdisso of all people, took his spot. I think that says enough.

Why should we go into so much trouble into accomdating a player who wouldn't give a sh!t about this club and the second he got his form back he would be pushing for an out, because all he cares about is himself.

We don't need Ibra, the attack is not the problem, we need to strengthen the midfield and get another fullback, getting Ibra would be a disaster as that would ensure that no one comes in to fix the problems we really do have.
Zed.D
I personally don't think Burdisso is better than Mexes. I also don't think Burdisso taking Mexes' place means anything. but of course, Silva is better than Mexes by some distance.

Exactly Burdisso isn't better but somehow he took his spot, that should mean something. Mexes isn't bad but he does tend to have his bad moments. Burdisso is more consistant imo which is why he took his spot.

Read that quote earlier from Galliani. Worst news of the summer. He shot every hope and dream down in one paragraph. No new defenders due to players who just wont freaking leave. 17m for hunter. Not only could we have dropped him, but we could've made a profit. But he refused, go figure. I'm already in a grumpy/bad mood today and this has just put me at the end of my line.

He even says that Gattuso might stay. sigh.

I read what I am repeating here:

I think we'll start to see players request transfers. The club hasn't been regularly winning stuff for a while and the management are showing no ambition at all, players want to win.

None of them are. Mediaset usually are marginally reliable because of the Silvio link, but they do get things wrong on more then one occasion. Gazzetta dello Sport are also pretty reliable.

But tuttomercatweb and milannews, usually have a lot more gossip posted there, and it's fun to read. Everyone trying to out do each other with the biggest fantasy story they can come up with biggrin.gif

Milan to renew Seedorf's contract

I swear, this is getting beyond ridiculous. First Inzaghi, then Oddo, Zambrotta and now Seedorf. All those players we were supposed to get rid of in 2011 are having contract extensions. How utterly pathetic! dry.gif sad.gif
