Hrm. And Motta has hardly played at Roma (what do folks think about him?).
That said, I agree. We need fullbacks (or at the very least a good RB; I rather like Antonini), a GOOD centerback, a regista and maybe another attacker.
Wonder if we're likely to get any of those.

I´M SO HAPPY BECAUSE WE´RE ALREADY COOKING TWO SUMMER MOVES:
1. PERMANENT TRANSFER NEGOTIATIONS FOR MANCINI;
2. NEGOTIATIONS TO KEEP LEONARDO.
BOY WE´RE HAVING A BUSY PRE SUMMER TRANSER CAMPAIGN ... 2 MOVES ALREADY ... I CANNOT EVEN WAIT TO SEE WHAT MOVE WE WILL DO NEXT ... MAYBE A 3RD TRANSFER FOR NESTA TO BRING HIM TO THE FIRST TEAM DIRECTLY FROM THE DOCTOR.
BOY I´M SO EXCITED!!!
FOURTH TRANSFER - Adiyiah, since he hasn't played he doesn't count as a previous season transfer ... we will UNCOVER him next season!!!
FIFTH TRANSER - Transfer of Oddo from the right side to the centre of defense to play alongside Silva ... WE JUST DISCOVERED A NEW CB FOR MILAN!!!!!!
Boy this pre-summer is REALLY FUN!!!

Trini, a regista is a playmaker - ie, a Pirlo. So I'm saying we need to bring in a replacement/heir.

IF UNCLE FESTER TRIES TO USE ANY OF THE ABOVE EXCUSES FOR THE TRANSFER CAMPAIGN ... THEN BERLUSCONI AND UNCLE FESTER REALLY THINK THAT AC MILAN FAN ARE STUPID PEOPLE.
I might even quit this team until Berlusconi sells it to somebody else!

I'm not sure we've actually been linked with any.
People this fish would approve of include Fiorentina's Riccardo Montolivo, Bremen's Mesut Ozil, maybe Parma's Daniele Galloppa.
Dracoris

Montolivo would be sweet. I can't see myself supporting Gallopa, only Conan O'brien can have hair that awesome and get away with it.

Ozil is unbelievable, but I don't think he defends. I was looking for a bloke with a little more physicality. I used to like Schweinsteiger a lot, but I think now Munich find him crucial to their XI.
Hernanes sounds good...but again if he's overpriced I'm not sure it will happen. Strasser doesn't look ready to make the jump, and I don't know if Verdi can deal with the pure cynicism seen among defenders in the top leagues (Europe and Italy). I was seeing a few primavera highlights and I have to say, that they're pretty 'honourable' most of the time...wanting to play football. If Verdi were to be our attacking threat, the other teams would have no qualms in chopping him down. That's my biggest worry.
Under Leo we no longer play the bodyguard system of marrying a DM and a playmaker together. So Verdi might be left out a bit.
I would think though that he's definitely an option to be on the subs bench.

AC MILAN, Young star to join senior squad

AC Milan GM Adriano Galliani has announced that defender Michelangelo Albertazzi will be promoted to the senior squad next season. The 19-year-old is one of the most talented young players in Italy and is a versatile defender who can operate both at left-back and in central defence.

Fishdoll
Apr 19 2010, 11:21 AM
But Verdi's a winger/trequartista, albeit one who's equally good on the left and the right. We definitely need someone like him on the first team.
I'm more thinking about a Pirlo replacement, which Verdi is not.
Jack Sparrow
Apr 19 2010, 11:31 AM
I know of three players in the same/relatively same mould: Pirlo, Xavi and Alonso.
Cigarini, Veloso etc are still some way away...and the problem with the Pirlo position is that if you're not on your game, you're useless. You can't defend and you can't attack.
Perhaps it's folly to continue to insist of looking for Pirlo replacements only to end up with people of inferior quality, who'll never be able to do that job well.
Let's drop the Pirlo dependency, before we go down the same route we went with Kaka and Sheva. I'm a huge fan of Pirlo and consider myself lucky to have seen him play, but at this point in time, we trying to build the machine to fit the cog. We shouldn't.
At this point, I wouldn't really cry a bucket load (maybe just half a bucketload) if we sold him to Chelsea/Barca/Real for 15 million. It would mean:
a. We'd actually find a new mid-field formation + tactics.
b. We're breaking with the tradition of hankering to the old guard.
c. We'd be a lot more fluid with tactics.
Right now..no Pirlo..no plan. F@cked up!

Ivan Rakitic is really good player but he is not Pirlo model he is more like Cassano, he's not good in defense. Pirlo is irreplaceable at the moment but few players could play that role i would like to mentione Arteta who i admire.

I like Arteta too. He's a bit injury prone...and the thought of taking him from Everton saddens me. It would be bad karma.

But Arteta is more of an advanced playmaker central mid, than a deep lying playmaker who can cut space and tackle a bit.

Report: Juventus Ready To Release David Trezeguet To Milan
The Frenchman's future was top of the agenda during yesterday’s meeting in Via Turati.
Striker David Trezeguet is set for a sensational summer switch from Juventus to fellow Serie A giants Milan, according to the Corriere dello Sport newspaper.
Roberto Bettega and Alessio Secco, Juve’s Vice Director General and director of sport respectively, met with Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani at the Rossoneri’s headquarters in Via Turati yesterday.
It is suggested that the Bianconeri executives sounded out Galliani about Milan’s willingness to sign Trezeguet on a free transfer during the close season.
The 32-year-old hitman will have one more year left on his contract with Juve at the end of the season.
But the Turin club’s directors are prepared to let him join Milan for free in exchange for the Diavoli dropping their interest in Wolfsburg forward Edin Dzeko.
Milan might offer ‘Trezegol’ a two-year deal but that is expected to come with at least a 30 per cent pay cut on his €4 million-a-year wages.

It's goal, I know. but it sounds like something we'd do.

goal.crap is quoting Corriere which as a Rome-based paper is oh-so-perfectly-reliable when it comes to news for nothern teams.
That said, Mediaset's saying that the meeting was to discuss Trezequet and De Ceglie. I like that version better, especially the latter part.
EDIT: And Gazzetta is saying they also talked about Buffon. So, really, goal took the nastiest tack possible. As usual.
EDIT2: Tuttomercatoweb is continuing with the Criscito rumors.
