Probably a job application. Either that or they're wondering what to do about Calciopoli.

Report: Juventus Ready To Release David Trezeguet To Milan

The Frenchman's future was top of the agenda during yesterday’s meeting in Via Turati.

Striker David Trezeguet is set for a sensational summer switch from Juventus to fellow Serie A giants Milan, according to the Corriere dello Sport newspaper.

Roberto Bettega and Alessio Secco, Juve’s Vice Director General and director of sport respectively, met with Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani at the Rossoneri’s headquarters in Via Turati yesterday.

It is suggested that the Bianconeri executives sounded out Galliani about Milan’s willingness to sign Trezeguet on a free transfer during the close season.

The 32-year-old hitman will have one more year left on his contract with Juve at the end of the season.

But the Turin club’s directors are prepared to let him join Milan for free in exchange for the Diavoli dropping their interest in Wolfsburg forward Edin Dzeko.

Milan might offer ‘Trezegol’ a two-year deal but that is expected to come with at least a 30 per cent pay cut on his €4 million-a-year wages.

It's goal, I know. but it sounds like something we'd do.

We are so sad. I want a time machine (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) I want the old Milan (and Inter) back.

This is too surreal to handle...

When you have KJH why would you take Trezeguet? I think it's silly. I'm going to be optimistic and think we were talking about Giovinco.

Giovinco... yeah sure (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

1. he is under 30
2. he's not a free agent

> This is certainly not about Gio!

goal.crap is quoting Corriere which as a Rome-based paper is oh-so-perfectly-reliable when it comes to news for nothern teams. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

That said, Mediaset's saying that the meeting was to discuss Trezequet and De Ceglie. I like that version better, especially the latter part.

EDIT: And Gazzetta is saying they also talked about Buffon. So, really, goal took the nastiest tack possible. As usual.

EDIT2: Tuttomercatoweb is continuing with the Criscito rumors.

Yes we were close to him, but Huntelaar came.

I've always liked Trez but now I'd much rather we keep Hunter instead of selling him and signing Trez. I can't stand this "Old Milan | Retirement Home" thing anymore!

As for the meeting in Via Turati, well, I like the De Ceglie bit. but are Juve willing to to let him go? (ie, have they gone totally out of their minds?)

Secco was never the brightest crayon in the box, zeddie. They might let De Ceglie go. Why we'd be interested in a (even if he's cheap) striker who's out injured more than Van Persie is for Arsenal, however, is beyond me.

Juve have spent a lot last summer and got nothing for it. I reckon they have to sell to buy now. Doesn't surprise me. I'd take Marchisio in a heart beat, but then he's the best of a bad bunch, and they won't sell for a sane price. Not too fond of Melo to be honest, and he'd cut space for Flamini, though I think he'll be a much better bodyguard for Pirlo than Flamini will be.

If we are making a purchase for the future, I don't know if we should include 'bodyguard for Pirlo' in the requirements seeing as how he is on the wrong side of 30 and out of form as of late. Perhaps he is just not motivated anymore which could be the case. Hopefully he'll shine at the WC and bring the awesomeness back to Milan with him.

Don't expect him to shine too much really. That whole national team has come down in leaps and bounds since 2006. They'll make the quarters at best is what I think.

You're in with a point about not bringing in a bodyguard. Though I think Pirlo not being an 'athletic player' can easily carry on for 6 years. The thing is the current set up doesn't suit him.

There's an entirely static team infront of him, and a player whose main strength is exploiting gaps and open spaces with his passing is useless in such a formation.

I daresay you could put Xavi instead of Pirlo and even he would suffer. But even now Pirlo's able to play the metronome pretty well. Up the tempo, down the tempo etc.

I think I already posted about why I think perhaps we should sell him now. We bought him for 18 million Euros and I think we can still sell him for 15, and consider it a good deal.

FYI, the club's financial statements are going to be released tomorrow at a meeting - we'll find out from there how much (roughly) the club will have available for transfers, not counting extra $$$ from Berlusconi.

I hope Italy go out in the group stage and that Pirlo gets sent off so barely plays if I'm honest. The guy rarely ever gets a rest, the only time he seems to get one is if he's injured. It'd be interesting to see how many games he's played since the start of the 2005/06 season, I bet it's a stupid amount if you count in Internationals too.
