As good Klose is, I rather keep Gomez and sell Klose + Gattuso + 10 m for Dzeko.

Its Gomez or Klose+something to balance not both
han2503
If Dzeko does move it will most probably be to Juve, we don't seem to be interested in him anymore, while the Juve management have made no secret of their desire to get him in Turin.

Looking at us, Inter and Juve you can clearly see where the ambition lies, we're renewing the contracts of our moldy oldies, only brought in one decent signing, while Inter and Juve have shared the spoils of the Bari boys, buying 2 of the most highly rated young defenders out there, they's doing everything they can to continue to strenthen their team by buying great players.

I see another season of fighting for a CL place, getting humiliated in Europe by a top team and not even going through the first round of the Coppa against some Serie B team, because that competition is "below" us rolleyes.gif

I hate the arrogance of our management, arrogance that is going to cost this club dearly, another season without CL football and all our top players will be out to compensate for the loss

I'm actually a little more optimistic. I expect a replay of last season.

Isn't what I said an exact replay of last season??

We got humilitated by Man U, nearly lost 4th spot in the league at one point to Samp and Palermo and got KO'd by Udine in the Coppa but were a hair away from getting thrown out by a Serie B team if it wasn't for Flamini's wonder goal.

Donovan is twice the player.

I'm not going to mention this to Tennie, nopenope. She's depressed enough as it is at the decline of the club. This'd probably just push her over the edge, poor thing.

Bisher gelangen ihm in 94 Ligaspielen 56 Tore.

Hoeneß declared that Dzeko will definetely play for Wolfsburg next year. "Edin Dzeko and Zvjezdan Misimovic will definetely remain at Wolfsburg. No matter what offers we might get for them." sad.gif

EXCLUSIVE: Milan 'Very Close' To Signing Japan Star Keisuke Honda From CSKA Moscow

AC Milan are close to securing the signing of Japan's World Cup sensation, Keisuke Honda, from CSKA Moscow, Goal.com can reveal.

The Italian giants made an offer of €13m on Thursday, to which the Russian club responded requesting an increased bid of €15m, and now sources from within the Rossoneri are confident of securing the Japanese star's signature imminently.

"We are very close to signing Honda, the clubs are very close to finding an agreement," said the source. "[Milan coach Massimiliano] Allegri likes him a lot and wants to see him playing alongside [Alexandre] Pato and Ronaldinho."

Honda, 24, has been the subject of widespread attention and admiration for his impressive performances for CSKA Moscow in the 2009-10 Champions League, followed by a superb World Cup campaign for Japan, in which he scored two eye-catching goals.

The forward - who can play as a striker or in a slightly deeper position, and is best known for his lethal left foot - has been linked with Arsenal, Liverpool, Birmingham City, Everton, Atletico Madrid, Deportiva La Coruna and Valencia, among others.

I think he's a bit pumped up right now, but he's younger then the usual Milan players and at least is a very good dead-ball player.

For 15m, I'd sign Krasic.

I have to question how wise it is to "spend" the non-EU spot on Honda... I like his game, but he'd just be a rotation guy and not a first team regular, right?

He doesn't even really fill a position of need (obviously depending on what happens with Rino and Dinho).

No in fact he will play in the first XI instead of Seedorf I guess.

So with Villareal moving up into the Europa League, what do we think that means for Rossi? Stay or go?

Why would moving into the Europa League be a determining factor for him to 'go'

If he was to go I don't believe Villareal going to the Europa League would assist in that respect.

Villareal will be getting a nice paycheck for taking part in the cup. They might have needed to sell players to make the money necessary to run the club, now they may not.

He prefers 4-3-1-2 formation. He also prefers offansive game. He uses more the youngest.
That's all I can tell by now.
Fishdoll
I saw Allegri's Cagliari play twice (once in Turin, once in Parma). They won both games playing a fluid, attractive brand of football. Lots of running and movement.

I'm a bit hazy on the formations but always thought of it as more of a 4-3-3 than a 4-3-1-2.

Allegri did quite well given the limited resources at his disposal.

Well I think he's pushing to go back to Italy. Do I think that he'll come to Milan? No, why would our management buy a young, talented, Italian player?? rolleyes.gif cry.gif

It's too obvious, they'll send out Braida for a holiday in S. America, get an unkown kid from Brazil/Argentina because it's the cool thing to do, pay an over inflated price because he's from S. America, then when he doesn't ammount to anythng they'll loan him to some second rate club, and finally after that sell him, only to start the cycle again.

This has been the way our management have done things for a while.

G. Rossi would be a dream, but we all know it's not going to happen, let's watch him go to Inter or Juve just like all the good young Italians have been doing lately
Dracoris
Allegri's favorite tactics include, but are not limited to:

-Poisoning the away team's Gatorade
-Mixing some C02 into the opposing team's locker room air vent so they either pass out or are not oxygenated enough and perform poorly.
-Hiring...."helpful services" to keep the owners, in this case Berlusconi, from meddling in team affairs.
-Telling the players that if they win the game, then they win a door prize. The door prize can range from a lunch with the coach, to the coveted high five from coach. This is a proven motivator.
-Also, he endorses the use of water when tired. This is another proven tactic.

Fishdoll
You forgot to mention the time out chair, Dracoris.
Darunia
Ilsinho of Shaktar is a free agent (I believe). I've heard good things about him in the past, he could slot in at RB.

Oh and I heard Honda can play left fullback. If Antonini gets hurt or something.. just a thought.
X-Offender
Honda LB?? I hardly think so.
Dracoris
Just caught this on Milan News, it has been posted all day but out of boredom I read it. It's headline is Galliani quoted as saying that Sokratis is an interesting player. But at the end of the quote he says that the defense is fully booked and we have strengthened. (At least according to google translate, thats what he said.)

So I guess that means Sokratis will be playing RB for us and filling in as CB, because Galliani had stated previously that we were on the market for a full back and now it seems that defensively, our market is closed.

All my speculation.

Dang, it. Just caught something else that slipped past me today. Since no one has mentioned it, I'll guess it slipped some other people too. Or maybe you did mention it and that also slipped pass me. Who knows, I'm too lazy to check.

Linked with Lucas Biglia
X-Offender
I think in the center we're fit, with Nesta, Silva, Bonera, Sokratis, Kaladze and Yepes. Not an all-star defense, but still quite decent. But I'd be very disappointed if we didn't sign at least a fullback. We only have a good one in Antonini, the rest is way below average and it'll cost us big time.

Is Biglia any good?
Linkman
We have two in Antonini and Zambrotta. Galliani is probably considering Oddo (which we already extended) and Abate in the right, and Janku in the left.

In that train of thought, we'd have five fullbacks (one of them, Antonini, capable of playing both wings.) See how everything's pretty in Galliani-vision?
X-Offender
Galliani must wear some of those magic shades that when put on, it makes Oddo and co. glitter with fairy sparkles and golden auras.

huntelaar to liverpool for babel if torres leaves Goal.com
id rather keep kjh or sell him for cash for dzeko then get another under achieving striker
kurtsimonw
Not a fan of Huntelaar, but that would be a disasterous swap deal.
Linkman
I don't watch the premier league, so I didn't keep track: what happened to Babel at Liverpool?

I know he wasn't in the starting eleven very often, but still?
kurtsimonw
Babel just isn't a talented footballer.

He's tall and quick, so throughout his youth days he could just beat people with either speed or strength. Now he actually has to have some sort of footballing ability he's failing badly.
TheOgre
he reminds me a lot of a worst dinho he never tracks back and tries to do too many tricks that never work but none of the good crosses or goal scoring. hes great for the netherlands but terribly under achieving for his club teams
Fishdoll
This fish would consider the other dutch striker who plays for the dirtyrottenscousers.
Dracoris
Biglia is apparently compared to Pirlo quite often according to his wiki. Great passer, not so much of a scorer (5 goals, 4 years). I'm still trying to find more info on him.

Hes 24 yrs old btw.

Those criticisms are pretty fair to some degree... but I think he's better than you're giving him credit for. He fell out of favor with Rafa (shocking, half the team does this each year) and his game stagnated. He's pacey and has a fantastic long shot.

He profiles like a decent secondary striker, but I'd have reservations. Basically:

-He disappears for long periods during a game
-He's maddeningly inconsistent
-Although he's pretty big and fast I don't know that he really likes to play physical enough to fit well in the Italian game. Seems like a guy who Italian defenders could get out of his game very easily and quickly
-I've never really seen him use his head well (I do watch a decent amount of Liverpool)
-Not seen as a hustle player/sometimes seems to dog it
-For a supposedly creative player his tricks and moves don't work all that often.
-I don't think he's worth giving up Huntelaar

He's young and pretty talented though... and its hard to tell how much of his poor form was Rafa related (ie not playing enough nor being put in the right fit/position to succeed) and how much was what kurtsimonw said above. Rafa spent a lot of money each year at LFC... and each year he would end up hating half the signings 3 months into the season. Babel never really was given a nice stretch of starts to get in a groove and get comfortable. It started off as Rafa breaking him in slowly... then just continued. Used almost always as a sub & usually came in a the 60'-70' mark. I do see the appeal... especially from what I'm hearing about Allegri's preferred style.

On that point - football-lineups.com has him running a 4-3-1-2 most of the time (this was mentioned above):

http://www.football-lineups.com/team/Cagli...08-2009/fixture

Seems like a good fit for the personnel Milan currently has. Probably a big reason he got hired...

Kuyt would be a fantastic fit in Milan, I agree. Heady player and he works best in spaces no one else on the current team seems to. I don't think Hodgson is any rush to sell him, though. They are trying to raise enough money to afford Loic Remy... so maybe...
