Guys, what would you think if we signed Ballack? His contract expires now and we could get him for free. The only problem is the age, since he's 33. I leave the word to those who follow the Premier League.
Jack Sparrow
The problem is his wages. Don't think it's worth it. Class player though.

A free agent, 33yo? I would jump off the window...

I spoke with Mr. Redzepagic yesterday he is Edin Dzeko manager, at the friday Milan sent the official offer for Dzeko 45 Mil €. There are 2 more offers for him one is better other is weaker he didn't want to tell me who are other too clubs but i think it's Manchester City and Juventus.

ohmy.gif F@ck!! Where did we get the money from??!!! Berlu...bless your wrinkled head! ohmy.gif

I think we can take Van Basten off the list. Here's a soundbyte quoted in tuttomercatoweb (MVB is in Italy for a charity thing):

QUOTE

['I'm not ready to coach Milan': Marco Van Basten takes himself out of consideration for the Milan bench. 'I've always had an ankle problem,' said the ex rossonero striker, 'and to be a coach you need to be free first of all in the head. I've got an ankle problem to resolve and until that time I can't do difficult work like that of a coach.' concluded the Swan of Utrecht, in Italy for the Vialli-Mauro Foundation Pro-Am.]

I don't mind MvB is not going to be our next coach, I just don't like his reason for it. sounds silly. how come he can manage other teams? anyway...

45M??? Hmm this would make sense in two ways. Juve bid around 35-40m and we out bid them. Man city probably bid around 50m.

But even looking at it like that, this doesn't at all makes sense unsure.gif Unless...dinho and huntelaar are leaving this summer....

I'm going to remain skeptical and not believe this. I do believe that our offer is offical, I just don't think he'll be coming here. Theres def more to it than meets the eye. Why wouldn't belu just buy him last year when he was cheaper....? Also we have 20-25m of our own money to spend with our arab sponsor. There is no way we can afford to buy him with that kind of money unless we have some drastic sales.

Theres something going on behind the scenes, smokescreens etc etc... we'll have to wait and see. This just isn't like our mgmt to bid 45m during May for a player.
Jack Sparrow
Probably 45 million including bonuses. Or are we talking player swaps? But why would we say 45 million bid then?

It doesn't make sense either. His min release clause is 40m and that expires may 31.

The only way i see this happening is if Dinho/hunt go, were swapping some players and cash or Pato has booked his ticket to madrid already.

as long as kakuta+ delac + 40M comes our way i would be less disappointed but milan is turning into a joke and i'm sure he starting to have thoughts of an exit when he looks around and sees he's the only player running.

ok i feel the need to pop the balloon here :
-there is no santa, if a man gets stuck in your chimeney its a cold homeless dude.
-there is no tooth fairy.if a hovering-mini-woman with wings take your teeth, get a restraining order/seek psychiatric help.
-there is no spoon, keanu dispelled the notion of spoons

and finally, there is no spending, berlu makes sure the media "links" us with every player on earth, so that fans discuss the players instead of slaying management.

There is simply no way we're going to spend that much. unless we want to spend the whole Emirate deal money on one player.

what's sad though is krasic said he wold for sure pick milan if we signed Dzeko sad.gif, the WC players are willing to forget our horrible form of the last few years and are still Offering their services to us. in a market where money does the talking, we are truly blessed to have such class players Balotelli, dzeko, krasic ask us to make an offer for them, knowing very well they can get more money and better trophy chances with bigger teams that are interested.
X-Offender
If we sold Dinho at a resonable price and added some of the money from the Emirates deal, we could easily sign the both of them. Just imagine an attacking line formed by Krasic, Pato and Dzeko. Ah, dreams never end...

Oh really??

Let's not forget the times Carlo would easily bench Pato whenever Pippo was fit in order to play his beloved xmas tree.

Anything said in interviews to me is pure BS, everything is glossed over to make things appear to be all bright and shiny.

Turnabout fair play, han. Pippo rotted on the bench this year so Leonardo could play his beloved 4-2-fantasy, which was oh so terribly effective this spring.

yea it did but then we didnt have depth at all not only for this system but also for any other system

Unproven, CMF. We didn't TRY any other system after we no longer had fit personnel to play it properly.

Fishdoll
Possibly, but that's the coach's fault for only drilling one system.

"Scoring title means a lot to me. This is something special," said Džeko for Bild am Sonntag. "Naslov najboljeg strijelca mi puno znači. To je nešto posebno", izjavio je Džeko za Bild am Sonntag.

While Bosnian striker celebrates first scoring title, is still uncertain of his future. I dok bosanski napadač slavi naslov prvog strijelca, još je uvijek neizvjesna njegova budućnost. It is known that he could leave the club Wolfsburg if you are interested to the end of May offer bank guarantees to pay 40 million euros in damages. However, the director of "wolves" Dieter Hoeneß says: No, direktor "vukova" Dieter Hoeneß tvrdi:

"For Jack do not have any offer." "Za Džeku nemamo nijednu ponudu."

However, Bild writes that in the race for water Džeko Milan and Tottenham. Unatoč tome, Bild piše kako u utrci za Džekom vode Milan i Tottenham. While Milanovo profession known for a year, a surprise is that it is shoulder to shoulder with the Italian giants are now placed and Tottenham. The London club is, obviously, after placement in the League decided to step up. Harry Redknapp wants to freshen up the team to attack, especially when considering that the survivals Roman Pavlyuchenko and Robbie Keanea anything but assured.

Therefore, not surprising a number of media speculation about possible acquisitions at White Hart Lane. News of the World is, recall, brought information that Spurs are interested in Realovu legend Raul, and it appears that Redknapp was tossed around on Jack. News of the World je, podsjetimo, donio informaciju da se Spursi zanimaju za Realovu legendu Raula, a čini se da je Redknapp bacio oko i na Džeku.

Sarevejo paper says this basically:

Wolfy will only sell him if an offer comes before the end of may as that is when his release clause runs out.

They will only accept an offer of 40m.

Wolfy director Hoeness says they have not recieved an offer yet.

They say Milan and tottenham are in pole position for the strikers signing.

So, Chelsea hasn't made a request for Pato and Thiago according to Carlo Ancelotti, who spoke to Milan Channel:

QUOTE
"A dir la verità non è mai stata fatta una richiesta nè per Pato, nè per Thiago Silva, la società ha parlato molto chiaramente l'altro giorno ha detto che Thiago Silva e Pato rappresentano il futuro del Milan, quindi va benissimo così. Ripeto non abbiamo mai fatto nessun tipo di richiesta per questi due giocatori che sono importanti e rimarranno importanti per il Milan"

['To tell the truth, there has never been a request either for Pato or for Thiago Silva. The club spoke very clearly the other day saying that Thiago Silva and Pato represent the future of Milan, which is good. I repeat, we've never made any type of request for these two players, who are and who remain important for Milan.']

According to Federico Buffa, an expert opinionst regarding Milan, van Basten will start training Milan from 2011 onwards. In 2011, the contracts of about 11 of our players will end, and there will be a general reconstruction of the team. So, until then, the team will be handled by Galli-Tassoti.

LINK

Sounds logical to me.
William405
Why should we wait for Van Basten to come,it isn't like he has proven himself to be a great coach.Player aren't getting cheaper,We should try and get some good players like thiago silva,I still don't beleive he cost us only 10mill,He is young and proving to be world class from the first season, now he will be even better when paired up with a good young defense like him.I think Silvio should seriously think of spending 40mill.Not on 1 player but on many,we really don't have a problem in the attack when we have pato and huntelaar and borriello. What we need is to sell Huntelarr who has proven that he doesn't have a lot of strength to play in the serie A unless he changes and then sell Borriello who has been good and all,but if we sell them both, for their money we can get 1 world class player, and then we can spend the 50mill on some other quality players.10mill of this 40mill can be from selling old players if we are able to,removing the bad components.Every time,Milan promises for a reconstruction but then dissapoints to deliver it is getting silly.

Pippo has been awful all season, do you really think Leo would have benched Bori or Pato for him in any system??

And the system wasn't the problem, it was the tired players, injuries and incompetence in front of goal from all of our strikers (except for Pato and sometimes Bori). And atleast if Bori and Hunter weren't scoring they still offered something to the overall play, something that Pippo has never done, in any team or system he's played in.

The only reason Carlo played him was because he was one of his old timer favourites. That is the only logical expanation of why he would bench Pato in favour of Pippo. It has nothing to do with Leo and the new system.

system was not the problem true but there was no backup system in case the players got injured for which leo cannoth be fully blamed bcoz there is no depth in the squad
Fishdoll
And I'm not getting into the whole argument with you about your Pippo hate again, han. You clearly disagree but I think he's a valid option if fielded properly - which won't happen under the rigid one-way only system that Leonardo insists on (I think the lack of flexibility is a major flaw). Even Huntelaar would be mroe likely to perform well if fielded in a system that better suits his skills. So too would Abate, Pirlo, and a host of other guys.

Frankly, at that time, any coach would have played Pippo instead of Pato. He was a beast! He scored something like 9 goals in the last 7 games.

Yeah, but only during that purple patch month he usually has every season, it usually hits at the end of March, I was really waiting for it to happen this season but it never came, he just kept missing one shocking chance after another.

And still, if Pippo was in such good form Calro could have easily removed on of the DMs from the xmas tree, pushed Seedorf into midfield and played both strikers, but I gues Leo is not the only guy with the rigid system, right my fishy friend? smile.gif

Also I don't hate Pippo, but I hated the fact that Carlo would bench Pato in order to play Pippo, Seedorf, Rino and Ambro all in one formation, even while Pippo was in terrible for at the beginning of the season. At the end of last season, sure he couldn't really bench Pippo as he was banging them in but he could have easily played both Pippo and Pato but still chose to play the rigid xmas tre, which was far more 1 dimemsional then Leo's 4-3-3 ever was. The fact that only Kaka and Pippo (when on form) managed to actually thrive in it should say enough.

And what could Leo really change the system to when we barely had a team? And in reality the system was still working as we were still creating a lot of chances in most games but where failing to convert them, that doesn't really depend on the system but the competence of the strikers.
Dracoris
System or not, I saw Pippo miss a mess of chances this year that normally he would nail. I would actually pick Borri over Pippo personally. (Shocker!) His position on the bench was rightly earned, I think.
