Ben Arfa is a winger but I'm not sure if he can play as AM too. But I'd like to see VDV in our team too smile.gif

EDIT :

Ben Arfa is waiting for Milan - link

Real Madrdi FAILS with Silva, they're after Carvalho - link

Edin Dzeko's father to talk with Wolfsburg so Dzeko can go to Juventus - link

EDIT 2 :

Guardiola gives the green light for Hleb - link
It seams that Hleb is not in Barcelona's plan for next season so their coach said that Hleb can leave Barcelona for 5 milion euros. Milan were very close of signing Ben Arfa or Van der Vart but now even the belarus is in the list ...

EDIT 3 :

Bayern set to offer 2 players for Dzeko - link
Bayern will offer Gomez and Tymochcuk for Dzkeo.

We should totally snap VDV whilst we're still in time. We did the mistake of ignoring Sneijder last summer, we shouldn't commit that mistake again.

VDV << Snijder

15 mil. for him is too much.

This.

About Van der Vaart and Sneijder, it never has been clear who was better. Last season pretty much proves (finally) Sneijder is the better one, but this means seeing how amazing Sneijder is for Inter, Van der Vaart has to be at least a very good player for us. I'm not expecting as good, but I mean, he will be good for us, I'm pretty sure.
Jack Sparrow
I don't know. I mean VdV doesn't have the kind of graft that Wes does. He tends to disappear when things are not going his way.
Fishdoll
Sneijder just gets petulant and fouls people and/or whines when things don't go his way. wink.gif

This fish would give VDV a big fins up.
CHU-LIP
Guys, guys...

Stop comparing him or any target with Sneijder. Did you see HOW AMAZING Sneijder was last season? He is favourite to become player of the year. 100% chance we will sign no one as good as Sneijder. Let's be happy if we sign someone good like Van der Vaart or 'even' Honda we should be happy with!

I can't stand Sneijder too.

So, Spurs and Villareal are playing a friendly today. SO far it's Spurs 1-3 Giuseppe Rossi (hat trick and counting).

ARE YOU WATCHING, FESTER?!@?!?!?!?!?!?

Why would he watch? We got Pato, Ronaldinho, Borriello, Huntelaar, Inzaghi, illusion and Zigoni as our forwards...

Zigoni's on loan to Genoa. Scored twice for them in a friendly last weekend.smile.gif

Oh, I forgot,

But still! As long as we have Pato, Huntelaar, Ronaldinho, Inzaghi, Borriello and illusion our forward looks perfect.

Not bad but it could be better. Rossi instead of Pippo and it's a top class attacking line imo

You meant in addition to Pippo, didn't you?

Else I'll have to do that thing. And the penguins complained last time.

Something like that. Rossi will add some pace. Now only Pato has got pace of our forwards. huhsmileyf.gif

MY EYESSSSS!!!!!!!!! swear1.gif

And

If it came down to a choice of removing one of our current strikers in order to bring Rossi in then it would have to be Pippo.
Fishdoll
I'd scratch Huntelaar, but you and I disagree about Pippo.
Dracoris
If we had let Pippo go last season instead of extending his contract, Rossi could be within reach. Or if we could've offloaded one of Hunter or Borri to the EPL for the rumored 20mil. I doubt we could grab him now. If we get anyone now it'll be a midfielder. If its anyone else it'll be a Berlusconi play thing.

Also on VDV, I think he's just as good as Sneijder. VDV was arguably better than Kaka last year (for Madrid), and earned it. If he can do that at Madrid (the club where great players go to suck) then he could do it here.
CHU-LIP
Or Paloschi instead Pippo would have been better too...

Why would you scratch a perfectly good rotation player, who will give us considerable strength in deth to keep a player that would barely play? Just doesn't make sense. I was vouching for Pippo in the other thread because I like having him around just because he's Pippo, but when thinking about just the football aspect of the decision then Pippo staying and Hunter going wouldn't make any sense

It would to me. I've had enough of the deer in headlights imitations from Huntelaar. Three out of three for games at the San Siro last year.

Well Pippo's tap in misses weren't much better... Hunter scored a couple of important match winning goals for us last season aslo. Pippo missing sitters is a big problem because that is literally what Pippo was born to do, sniff out a chance and poach it. But if he can't finish he's practically worthless on the pitch.

Personally the only reason I'm not mad at the renewal is because he's an important part of this Milan, just not in the footballing aspect anymore. He's not ethernal, he can't play on forever and imo should have hung up his boots this season and gone for a backroom position at the club.
Fishdoll
Pippo was treated very poorly by Leo last year, had no continuity. And he did score good goals too. I think you're focusing too much on the negatives and really could do without another rehash of the 'Pippo is useless' argument.

Let's just say we disagree on this one.
CHU-LIP
If Pippo wasn't a club idol then him staying here this season would be 100% ridiculous and insane. In fact, we should have done what others do (Cannavaro left Juventus, Raúl left Real Madrid, etc.) and like said earlier giving his place to either a good signing or youth, for example Paloschi. I seriously have more faith in Paloschi than Inzaghi (when it comes to scoring goals) nowadays. Inzaghi is unfortunality just one of the many examples of players we still have but shouldn't. We are filled with a lot of old players who should be gone but aren't thanks to Galliani.

If Pippo is a club idol, what does that make Rino? Not like they had any problem jerking him around this summer.

Pippo is old and half the player he used to be... but he has some uses, and its virtually impossible to find as talented and polished a player who is willing to settle for that small a role. I'd drive him to the airport if it meant getting Rossi, though.

Still... attack not the problem on this team (other than Ronaldinho dribbling in circles).

Gattuso was the one that initiated the willingness to leave. The club and Allegri talked him out of it. We just extended his contract not even a year ago.

That problem with the attack is the lack of finishing. Every single one of our attacking core struggled with it last year, especially the ones largely responsible for it (Borri, Hunt, and Pippo)

Let's just say we disagree on this one.

Well I don't know what you expected Leo to do, drop Boriello to give Pippo a chance? Pippo knows what his position is on the team, he's a rotation player and he seems to be more then happy with it seeing as he signed the contract.

Leo gave him some continuity at the beginning of last season, but when Pippo started to miss sitters and it was obvious that Boriello suited the foromation far more then Pippo did he dropped him.

He had Huntelaar too, so he wasn't going to sub in Pippo every time and leave Hunter with barely any playing time.

Also Pippo used to have long spells out in the past, but when he came back he came back strong and scoring 2 goals per game, I don't really think it effects him that much whether he's consistantly being played or not. I remember once Carlo said that Gila needed to start from the beginning of a game to be effective while Pippo could come on in the last 5 minutes and still win you a match, that's because his entire game is based on instinct. Which he still has imo but his finishing has gone down the drain
CHU-LIP
IMO Huntelaar, not Inzaghi, was treated very poorly by Leonardo. Inzaghi often got a chance over Huntelaar, while it should have been the opposite. Inzaghi treated very poorly by Leonardo? No way. Playing him more often than done last season would have been a crime.

. Anyway, the DM position is the least of our problems as Flamini is still young.

..See how we've been duped by the management?? he is 26!!! this imo should be Milan's average age given the nature of soccer nowadays..things have changed..football now requires speed, faster movement of the ball..the pirlos and seedorfs can't hack it..i hope i'll be proven right in the emirates cup..just remember how scary (and embarrassing) it was last season when teams were launching counters against us..gosh!

Generally as a player nowadays, at 20 you need to make a name for yourself..hit peak at 23-27...
kurtsimonw
It is worrying when a 26-year old is considered 'young'. That's about prime age, like you say, it's nearer what our average age should be, around 26-28.

Well that is the reality Flamini is young, Pato is a baby. When aside from a few players are 30 and over that is what happens

Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri would like to sign another central midfielder before the end of the transfer window, but insists he's happy with his squad.

Speaking ahead of Milan's participation in the Emirates Cup, Allegri was asked about his recruitment strategy.

“What we have is fine,” he said. “If someone leaves then someone else will arrive, but right now the squad is fine.

“We speak every day with Galliani. Seeing that we'll be playing with three in central midfield, we'll need at least six players in that position.

“I am convinced that the club will bring home a good player.”

When asked if he intends to raid former club Cagliari for Andrea Lazzari, Allegri was coy in his response.

“It will take a dynamic player,” he said.

Allegri then looked ahead to tomorrow's game against Arsenal.

“We will try to do good things even if we have only been training for 10 days and we are missing some players. But I am convinced that we'll do good things.

“I am not worried. Ronaldinho has stayed at home to work and get into a good condition for the start of the season.

“He is a very important player. He has great technical qualities, so we'll need to try and protect him when he isn't well.”

i think is basically between van der vaart king.gif and lazzari....i know that with the first one we are extremely competitive

I know by now you guys probably think that I'm on VDV payroll as a promoter, but it should be noted that although Ronaldo returned from vacation early to travel with the team to the US, VDV did not. Nor did Kaka.

“I'm not going to name names. I need a sixth midfielder, who can play infield and I believe we'll sign one.”

So say we sign VDV. That still leaves our EU spot open. Galliani said that signing Honda was very difficult because of the new non-EU ruling. We have a spot open, so why is it difficult? Who was he looking at at that time to make it difficult? Could the new mid be a non-EU?
