To be fair Otamendi is REALLY highly rated and also just 19 yo, he is going to be huge, with or without us, i say yes to signing him.

No, he's co-owned by Bari and Genoa. Inter sold him to Genoa when they signed Milito and Thiago Motta.

Fulham defender
Brede Hangeland has reportedly become a surprise transfer target for
AC Milan.
The centre-half has put in good performances and has been a pivotal presence in the back-line during the Cottagers' conquests en route to the final of the Europa League.
The San Siro giants are believed to be in the market for a top quality centre-half to bolster their back-line, with Manchester United's Nemanja Vidic rumoured to be in line to make a move to Serie A.
However,
The Daily Star claims that the Italian club may look to make a move for the Norwegian if the potential transfer of the Serbia international does not reach fruition.
This is not the first time that Hangeland has been linked with a high-profile move away from Fulham, as he was heavily tipped to make a move to Arsenal last summer - but nothing materialised as he was keen to remain at Craven Cottage.

As if we can afford Hangeland, we are better off buying Mexes for 10-15 Million then trying to buy him. He'll cost no less than 20m.

Your prices are way outdated man. The only players these days that cost 7-8M would be from the dutch league or Serie B, championship, spain div 2 so on. Hangeland is one of the best defenders in EPL aswell.
Hernanes who plays in the brazillian league would cost no less than 15m and that is the brazillian league LOL
Fishdoll
May 5 2010, 10:59 PM
I think perhaps EPL prices are a bit over inflated. Hangeland isn't worth 15 million. 7-8 million is, I think, more realistic. And Serie B defenders don't go for anywhere near that amount. As for the prices of highly-rated players from the Brasilerao, well, of course they're going to be inflated because the Brazilian clubs think they can get a lot for the players due to the perception that some people have that Brazilian players are automatically better than everyone else.

Presumably goal is getting its info from Tuttomercatoweb - who in turn got it from Tuttosport.
If that's the case, the kid in question is Marko Livaja, a 17 year old striker. So he'll probably go to the primavera.
EDIT: Tuttosport (according to tuttomercatoweb) is also reporting that Milan is close to signing 24 year old Brazilian striker Eder, who's having a very good season at Empoli.

Problem is we haven't seen any sign that they're willing to give them a chance to advance into the first team. Why are we wasting money on the Primavera if we're not willing to see it through?
Also we need to make smart buys, not buy every youngster we come across and usually they end up being not good enough, because it might be a million here and another there for a couple of players but it's still money being wasted if we're not planning to give these players a chance.

Because this new approach started only last year, by signing Zigoni, Beretta and Hottor. You need at least 2-3 years before the main squad can receive benefits from it.

Filippo Galli is still the favourite for the post, primarily because of his time in charge of Milan's youth sector. So the invertment in youth would be due his impending promotion to the 1st team managers position so if anyone can judge if their good enogh he will.

Milan Closing In On Getafe Star Pedro Leon - Report
Italian giants Milan are on the verge of signing Getafe midfielder Pedro Leon, according to several reports from Italy. The Rossoneri have supposedly already agreed terms with the Spanish side.
Milan have been in disappointing form this season and are therefore looking to add to their ranks this summer. Pedro Leon should be the club's first signing of the upcoming transfer window.
The 23-year-old joined Getafe from Real Valladolid last summer and has immediately developed into one of the star players at the Primera Division side.
Pedro Leon was previously linked with clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Valencia and Atletico Madrid, but he appears to be on his way to Serie A instead.
Getafe have reportedly agreed to part company with the highly rated midfielder for an €8 million transfer fee. Negotiations between Pedro Leon and Milan are still ongoing, but an agreement could be reached in the coming days.

well obviously they are inflated. I don't disagree with that. I was just saying what the reality is right now. If everton can sell lescott for 20+, there is no way hangeland will sell for lower. He is rated a better defender than Lescott.
kurtsimonw
May 6 2010, 11:14 PM
I think Hangelaand is rated higher now, but not at the time when Lescott was signed. It's hard to judge prices and value of players though. Dunne was signed for £5m and is arguably the best CB in the league based on this seasons form, so is everybody else worth less than that or what? It's tough to get a true reflection of someones value.

Great signings equals great money, and we can't afford that. Still, you can always build a competitive team by buying a few cheap, quality players, and that's where the board has failed at. About 70% of our recent signings have been crap.
