Sorry if this seems a little vicious. Usually when pointless arguments (between informed and utterly uninformed members) occur over something that is simple fact, I get frustrated but don't feel the need to add to an already frustratingly pointless conversation. However, I guess this time (given some of the recent exchanges) I can't help myself.

There are some things that are said on occasion in these threads that really make me scratch my head, as they are completely nonsensical. It's a large part of why post a lot less than I used to in the forum — sometimes the positions people take up are so absurd they might as well be those of completely uneducated football fans. Meanwhile, a few knowledgeable ones slap their foreheads trying to reason with them. Here is an example of two such recent exchanges:

1. The Kaka 2nd yellow --> red vs. Ivory Coast

To the people who are trying to maintain that Kaka deliberately elbowed Keita and deserved the sending off, I have one question for you: Have you ever stepped onto a football pitch, and played against athletic opposition in a competitive setting? Because if you have, then you will know type of contact constitutes a foul, a card, etc. Kader Keita ran unknowingly right into Kaka. Kader Keita is an elite African athletic physical specimen who will knock you the f*** over when running right at you. Kaka, who only sees Keita approaching from his peripherals, raises his SHOULDER if anything, to simply absorb contact and not get completely trucked over. Keita receives something of a forearm to his midsection — what's Kaka supposed to do, stand their like a pencil and get bowled over? please. — and the guy, who is as physically imposing as an athlete gets, goes down as if he's been shot. Yea. Right. Clearly a yellow card on Kaka. If you see that play, and think Kaka was being malicious — as opposed to doing exactly what any athlete in that situation would do (brace oneself for the contact and take minimal measures to see that you don't see the worst of it) — then I challenge your ability to fully understand intense, physical athletic competition at the highest level, and what ones instincts tell you to do in certain situations.

2. Pastore sucks? lol.

People, Pastore is a brilliant talent. He had an incredible year at Palermo, has beaten the odds in making the Argentinian squad. Anyone saying to the contrary should possibly not be posting in the forum of an Italian Serie A team, seeing as your knowledge of the league is minimal. Pastore thinks amazingly quickly on the pitch, as has the speed and skills to match. Did you all fail to notice the immediate improvement of Argentina yesterday when he came on the field? He has the ability to lull defenders to sleep with unsuspecting short passing, and then break the game open the split second their not ready for it. If you'll remember, it was Pastore who came on as a substitute, completed 17-23 passes, played three 1-2's with Messi at full speed to set him up for the shot that Leo eventually banged off the post. If you think Pastore sucks, then you probably thought Kaka sucked while playing for us, cuz if you open your eyes you'll realize they are basically the same type of attacker. And if you thought that, well then...what can i say.

You deserve a big cookie my friend, especially about the second point. I've always said Pastore would be my second dream transfer after Dzeko, cause the kid has incredible potential. He's only 20 years old and in two years time he'll be the next big thing, if no injuries or other external factors affect his performance. When Milan signed Kakà, he was 22 years old, and like vnata said, they are the basically the same type of player. Heck, they even look similar. We'd be wise if we signed him right now when he only costs about 25-30 million, because when he explodes, dealing with someone like Zamparini over a reasonable price would be impossible.
MizNelson
I saw the gif of the Kaka elbow, and I'd be surprised if Rivaldo didn't immediately mail off Kader a letter of appreciation for such a display of theatrics. Elbow in the chest and the schmuck covers his face before going down in a heap.
Jack Sparrow
Agree with vnata on the Pastore thing. He's good, but i'd rather have my fingernails pulled out than deal with Zamparini. The only thing is I don't want us to go down into a whirlpool of player-dependency again. I'm sick of it.

Think of the Milan 'B' team which whopped Madrid. That's the kind of strength we should be having. If we can't buy it, then we should build it. I think we shall. But it'll take another 5 years.

As for the Kaka thing...I believe it was a combination. Kaka was playing a bit physical in the previous 10 minutes or so, which the ref might have noted, and not appreciated considering he was a player on a yellow. Keita was ridiculous true. But a player of Kaka's experience should be aware of stuff like that now.

I disagree that an elbow to the sternum (however light) was the only way to get out of the way. Kaka's not a frail waif himself and if Keita had actually run into Ricky and he had fell down or been hit (with no serious damage), it would have been a reversal of tables and Keita would have gotten the yellow or at least a talking to. That being said I don't think that incident warranted a yellow. But I can't blame the ref. He might have seen the run happening, Kaka standing his ground and then Keita on the ground holding his face.

I hope Keita gets the kind of ban that Rivaldo did.

He will most likely end up at inter or a La Liga club later in his career. I don't think we have a chance really.

Wouldn't really matter cuz Ivory Coast isn't going through.
Jack Sparrow
It's not about punishing Ivory Coast. It's about punishing Keita.

Tuttomercatoweb thinks that Milan has bought Astori's co-ownership from Cagliari and that he'll be returning to Milan. Figure somewhere in the 3.5 million range. link

(They also have a story quoting Cellino as saying he's not sure Allegri is up to coaching Milan. link ).

Matteo Darmian is also returning from loan to Padova. link

There's doubt about Luis Fabiano's recission clause. Some think it's as much as 30 million, others think it's as low as 10. Sevilla has offered him a contract renewal. link

Sporting Lisbon has denied that there have been any offers (from any clubs) for Miguel Veloso. Veloso had stated that Milan, Fiorentina, and the gobbi have expressed interest. link

Also read that Albertazzi is moving up to the first team. It's on the official site, when discussing the report on the youth team.

Which is why it's bad. Kaladze was supposed to be our main back up for Nesta and Silva. Now if one of them is to get injured, we'd have to choose from Bonera, Astori and Yepes. Neither are worthy of the task IMO.
Bluesummers
astori, yepes and amelia? So far a good market imo. 3.5 spent for 3 players and no mancini signing.

galliani is doing his job so far.

We'll probably end up with Otamendi who will play RB and will slot into CB if the time comes. Also people say that Astori is the next cheillini, is that true?

EXACTLY. I was like "oh my, Pastore is actually really good". not that I had not realized that before but he really caught my eye in that game.

But I don't know why a debate over Pastore should exist anyway, it's not like we're really after him. or are we?
Bluesummers
we probably can't afford him even if we wanted him. He'll cost 20 at the minimum.
X-Offender
We're the only ones who have been linked with him so far. I remember an interview with Zamparini (he hates Gallaini but is friends with Braida) where he said Braida had praised Pastore, though will never ask to sign him because he knows Palermo won't sell him. But like I've already said, for 25-30 million Zamparini would sell him on the spot.
Fishdoll
So we need to hope someone at Milan is smart and catches both Berlu on a good day and Zamparini after he's taken a happy pill?

sooooo is astori ours or what!? evilgrin.gif huh.gif

Could there be a twist in the case dell'ultimora Astori. As reported by Sky, Milan and Cagliari could renew the joint ownership of Davide Astori, a central defender who has behaved well in the last two seasons in red and blue.

Until a few days ago it seemed certain the redemption of Milan for 3.5 million. Perhaps the Rossoneri want to do another year of experience in Astoria, without spending a dollar.

Astori to remain at Cagliari.

Phew... Now sign Otamendi FFS!!!

This is GOAL quoting Tuttosport, I'm aware of that, but if something like this happens to my Milan I might as well try suicide or something.

Juventus Duo David Trezeguet & Mauro Camoranesi Off To Milan - Report

Milan ready to land Juventus duo...

Juventus duo David Trezeguet and Mauro Camoranesi have reached the end of the line in Turin and they could embark on a journey to Milan, according to Tuttosport.

Trezeguet, whose deal in Turin expires next year, has been tipped to leave the club, despite his agent Antonio Caliendo claiming he could stay on last week.

"It's not said he will leave," the agent told the press.

However, Juve's good relationship with Milan could see the Old Lady turn provider after the Rossoneri sold them Marco Storari.

Milan have been tracking the French hitman and they are expected to make their move.

Camoranesi has also been linked with a move to Milan. Simone Pepe's arrival in the Bianconeri ranks appears to be pushing him over the edge.

The Italo-Argentine is also attracted by playing in the Champions League.

Camo on loan wouldn't bother me, he can serve as a stop gap for a year... no more then a year thought...Trezeguet...NO!!
Fillipo Simone
Great!!! Now we just have to sign N'Gotty for the defense and our team is rebuild!

Anyway, I think it ain't happen.

I VERY(!!!!!!) much doubt they'd sell him to us before the likes of Sampdoria. besides he'd be loaned out first to regain some value before they sell him.

Why would we sign Giovinco anyway? He's nothing special.

Official Allegri
il_diavolo_mtl
so two players we are targetting's future's have been resolved. Juve have sold their half of criscito to the grifoni, in exchange, it is rumored the grifoni will sell their half of bonucci

EDIT: which means lippi did what was best for Juve, he increased criscito's value by playing him and decreased bonucci's by not...
Bluesummers
so I wonder whose on the signing block next. Lazzari, fabiano..??? I wonder what allegri even wants to play
Jack Sparrow
I can't wait for his first press conference. I hope to get a better grip on the kind of coach he is then.
samira
Now when Allegri is here, Im hoping on Matri but mostly Lazzari or else Fabiano instead

What do you need Matri for when we have Borriello and Huntelaar? Allegri needs to think of the module he wants us to play with, be it 4-2-1-3 or 4-3-1-2 or even 4-3-2-1, so we can pick the adequate players for his choices.
samira
Isn't one of them going, and who's the backup?
X-Offender
Well, it certainly won't be Matri. If it was up to me, I'd keep them both and sell Dinho instead.
samira
I would have done that too, but Im more Matri then Hunte
X-Offender
When did Matri become so special? He's just your average Serie A striker, not even close to Huntelaar.
samira
I don't why he's so special to me, but I like his performer and how he play as a winger
Linkman
I'm against selling Huntelaar. I think he still has potential, and just hasn't lived up to it because he wasn't used to Serie A's defenses.

But Bori sort of proved his best is okay, but not great. Which is why I'd sell him.
il_diavolo_mtl
hunter is more talented then 95% of strikers we were linked with... (Torres lol)

Lazzari would be enough for me

Torres actually moves. Doesn't think of himself as a cell phone tower.
