dinho= top 3 players last year so as much as we can argue about him, we have other, more glaring voids to fill. I'm not saying he is god or his existence is over-glorified, i'm saying the issue is moot. A RB would be good with 1 fresh-blooded midfield also GK. These are our needs.

Agreed 100%

I don't understand this obsession you have with Dinho X-off, we have so many other problems in the squad it's ridiculous to think that you're only thinking about getting rid of one of the few players who actually did something worthwhile last season for us.

I think you're being ungrateful, you want to throw away Dinho, in the hopes of getting Krasic and Dzeko, something that's never going to happen. You're assuming that 2+2=4, when for our management that looks something along these lines 2+2=10. Because if we do sell Dinho the money won't go into rebuilding the team, simple.

We'd just be left with a gaping hole in attack and the team will suffer an immense drop in quality. Look at what happened to all those who were pushing for Kaka's sale last summer, because they thought it would result in a Juve like revolution, but look at what we were left with after Kaka was in fact sold. Thankfully there was Dinho who more then filled his boots imo.

I'm no Dinho fanboy, far from it. But I know how our management operate. If I knew for a fact that if we'd get good money for Dinho and reinvest that into the team then I would give selling him serious thought, and even then I would hesitate as like I said you have no gaurantees that any new player, be it Dzeko, Krasic, Messi, etc, would fit into the team immediately.

And why complain about the fact that he doesn't track back? He never actually did that, not even in his hay days at Barca, he would lose the balls and stand there waiting for the others to win it back and pass it back to him, I actually swa him doing some tracking back this season which is a total improvement from before. And it's not like Pato, Pippo or Huntelaar do any tracking back either, but I don't see you complaining about them...

Fact here is that Dinho will most probably stay on for next season and we'll be the ones benefitting from it as I can't see any major transfers happening whether we sell him or not.

Also saying 'take away the assists and he's nothing' is just low. He's our joint top scorer and top assist man in the league, not to mention that had we had more clinical strikers he would have had a lot more assists. The inconsistancy thing is hypocritical imo, as the entire team was inconsistant this season. What you expected him to win games all on his own when the entire team was dragging their legs? Consistancy for an attacker is mostly an illusion, since most attackers are inconsistant, and usually tend to dissappear in games far more easily then players in other positions. If judging consistancy was as black and white as you put it, Boriello could either be terribly inconsistant or very consistant, as he always plays his heart out and he's got great movement, but on the goal scoring front he's very inconsistant

1. There are many people who feel like me about Dinho, I'm not the only one pal.

2. The fact we didn't sign anyone with the money from the selling of Kakà was because we had a 70m debit and it had to be replenished. This year's debit was only 9m, and it could be easily covered by the club's own finances. So if we do sell Dinho, expect to sign someone worthwhile.

3. Borriello has been extremely consistent throughout the whole season. I don't remember a single game where he was indolent and unwilling to contribute. Pato was inconsistent because of his injuries. Huntelaar was barely used until Pato's injury, and that coincided with the whole team's decline, so you can't really blame him for anything. He's just a poacher after all. And Pippo never played. Everyone had some excuse, but Dinho was availabe throughout the entire season and could have surely done better if he was a bit more willing.

http://www.goal.com/en/news/10/italy/2010/...driano-galliani

In this article Galliani is quoted as saying that he and Perez 'only had chatter between two old friends' BUT later they asked him about Ronaldo and his response was 'He said he would not be let go on any terms'. This means that if they did talk about that, then there was some talk about the market. Did we make a serious bid for Ronaldo? Haha

I'm just speculating and messing around here, but who knows.

I've never been a Ronaldinho fan. I hate his style of attack, he seems to insistant on his stupid tricks and slows things down. No team will ever be able to counter attack well with him involved.

He's not half the player he was 4 or so years ago.
samira
Even if he anit young, you can see a diffrent when he aint playing, even if they are 11 players on the field , nobody can do a better job than he. And I think that Dzeko aint worth it.
somebody will take Dinhos place but in the future, this isnt the end for him
it would be stupied to sell him and I understand that ur not the only one that feel that way
but Nobody hasnt proved that can take dinhos place yet, is Cristiano coming
nuh
x-off i really doubt you watch milan games. pato was very very very very inconsistent this season way before his injury, we all love pato and all but he wasn't the same this year (before his injury)....there were many games where dinho gave borriello wonderful chances and he wasn't able to finish it off, remember this long period of time where he didn't score which lasted a month or 2, i don't think ronaldinho is the best player in the world nor do i think that he is playing as he did with barca, but all i can say is that he really put us out of a stinker this year and we should be thankful, not bash him for not playing better...
Dracoris
Anyone else notice on milannews.it that Higuain is available? Hmmm....... VDV and Higuain package deal please?

Im not a fan but I think he s good and seriously I cant see nobody else do a better job,
even if he s not as good as he was 4 yrs ago, still 25 year old cant do a better job
Fishdoll
Yeah, I noticed that one, Dracoris. I'd get over the whole 'Argies have cooties' thing if Higuain was to come to Milan. Doubt it'll happen but it's a nice thought.

VDV...meh. He's a good trequartista and was very good at Hamburg. But I'm not entirely sold on him. Still, I wouldn't say no.

Honestly, I think that rumour is just B/S. I see no reason why they should let him go, considering he was their best player after Ronaldo last season. In fact, if there's anyone who should leave Madrid, those are Raul and Benzema.

1. I know you're not but you're the one who's constantly bringing the issue up and taking a stab at Dinho at every chance you get.

2. Don't buy into the cr@p! Kaka's money was used to wipe out huge depths, but every year the club goes into the red, what with all the useless salaries we pay to the real undeserving players on this team. You seriously think that 20m would go into rebuilding? The 20m will go into relieving Silvio of having to clear us out of the red zone from his own pockets. Times are changing, Silvio doesn't want to put his money into the bottomless pit that is a football club and his kids don't want him spending tons of their own inheritance money on the club. If reports are true then the 9m you mentioned don't even scratch the serfuce of the depth we accumulate every year. I think thise summer we'd be luck to keep our current top players and bring in someone like Lazzari and maybe a fullback. If we do sell Dinho expect us to stay as we are or sign someone to shut the fans up and nothing else is done. I don't understand how Milan fans can still be so naive after all the other times we've been burned over the years.

3. Boriello was consistant?? He'd score a goal this week then a dry spell would come on. Boriello's performances in terms of effort put in were top notch, but goal scoring wise he was cr@p, that's why Dinho, the winger/provider in the team tied him for goals... Pato was inconsistant before the injuries, and when I was talking about the other strikers on the team I was talking about them tracking back, something that only Boriello does, that is why I mentioned them, not how consistant/inconsistant they are.

X-off seems to prefer a team of 11 guys making an effort --and failing miserably-- than a team of 11 lazy arses that pull off a win.

Even if Ronaldinho's lazy, parties too much, drinks, smokes, sniffs coke, there's one thing that's undeniable: he put the ball where his wallet was and turned out with the goods. Borriello, remarkably dedicated, always making an effort, turns out with half or even less than he's supposed to.

Who d'you prefer?
Dracoris
Yea, Lazzari is a step in the right direction. Next we need in order:

1. A RB that can compliment Pato and vice versa.
a.I'll take anyone not picky here

2. GK (The loss of Dida and Roma guarantees I think at least one, we might get two if Storari doesn't return)
a. Alves
b. Marchetti
c. Sirigu

3.Another Mid (Pray Gattuso does well in WC then Chelsea might come knocking and we can get some cash wink.gif )
a. Hernanes
b. VDV
c. Krasic

4. Striker
a. Dzeko friends.gif
b. Pazzini
c. Rossi

My ABCs are not in any particular order, just names off the top of my head that could contribute.
il_diavolo_mtl
Realistic Team with a 15-20M budget (extra 8M if we want otamendi)

dream team: a hybrid 4-4-2 that looks like a 4-2-2-1-1.

Boriello
.....Pato

ronnie................................................................*Lazzari
Pirlo..........Flamini

Antonini.........T. Silva.........................Nesta.................Van der Wiel

Storari

*lazzari played everywhere at Cag but mostly on the left, he is a left footed shot though which would make him able to cut inside and let one go. Giving us the possibility to have 4 very capable shooters in midfield.

also i have a Bromance for drenthe, who i feel would be the best choice to replace Ronnie at LW. This lineup will have ronnie though as i doubt we part ways with him this year. by next year hopefully other players will create more making us able to part ways with a ronnie we will hopefully depend less on.
X-Offender
Hm, not sure Lazzari is the guy we need. I think we need more of a box-to-box midfielder, someone like Hernanes or Sissoko. Lazzari is more of a AM/SM type of player i.e. more offensively disposed.

He's worn the armband a couple of times after folks've been subbed but he's not officially captain yet. I imagine he will be in the future. He and Chiellini were pretty much the only bright points for them last season.

Cagliari want Paloschi for Allegri

Monday 31 May, 2010

Cagliari President Massimo Cellino is prepared to release Max Allegri so he can replace Leonardo at Milan, but only if Alberto Paloschi forms part of the deal.

Milan have already outlined their position with Cagliari, telling Cellino that further to Allegri they want to buy Davide Astori outright and bring Andrea Lazzarri to San Siro as well.

Cellino has already acknowledged the fact that Allegri will join Milan, as demonstrated by reports that he is close to hiring Cesena boss Pierpaolo Bisoli.

However, he would like to extract maximum benefit from any deal for the Serie A Coach of the Year who was sacked in April but remains under contract.

Cellino has asked to sign Paloschi outright, which is tricky for Milan as they only part-own the 20-year-old striker who has been at Parma for the last two years.

Il Corriere dello Sport understands that the stand off might last until the end of June when Astori's and Paloschi's co-ownership deals expire and come up for review again.

It's not true, Wolfsburg didn't recive any offer for Dzeko and Manchester City story is false!!!
Also the news i get from Edin manager is that clubs are trying to lower Edin price tag, around 30 Mil € would be fair, at the moment first in the line is Bayern Muchen ( Gomes + 10 MIL € they offer ) but all offers are unofficial. We are stil after him and nothing is over, apparently we are waiting for Lippi to make a move!!

Some very good arguments on the past few pages regarding dinho. Valid points on both sides and it really is a debatable issue as we don't really know if he will be able to continue playing the way he does given the fact that he is 30 years old now.

But I gotta agree with what Han had said earlier. Lets not be naive regarding the club's spending policy. If we sell dinho, we'll only spend what our original transfer budget was. If Galliani is given 30m to spend, he will only spend that much. It doesn't matter who walks out the door. The extra money will be put into our January transfer window or saved for the following year to pay off debts etc.

Now we all know how silvio is and he may go ahead and purchase a player with his own money just because he feels like it. He won't give Galliani 20m to reinforce the squad but he might spend 40m on a player like Ibra just because he wants to see him play in Milan. I know its stupid, but thats the reality.

So we have to look at our situation realistic.

Selling dinho right now would provide us a huge wage reduction (16m) and would get us a decent sum of money, 15-20m. But given his performance last season, i'm personally hesitant on the issue. He does cost quite a bit but his contribution to the team is huge in comparison to some other players who earn quite a lot.

Lets put into the light some other heavy earners:

Inzaghi=8m Was this extention really necessary? Sometimes I wonder what goes through Galliani's head.

Netsa=10m Was a titan for us in the back and when he was injured we suffered quite a bit. But he's 34. If we make him a vital part of our defensive plans, were taking some huge risks, given his injury history.

Pirlo=10m No one will deny that Milan ticks because of Pirlo. But this is similar to the arguements presented earlier about Kaka and Ronaldinho. Milan relies too much on individual players to get results instead of focusing on the overall team.

Flamini= 10m For the amount of money we pay this guy, he sits on the bench far too much. Yes I know we signed him on a free transfer and he is only 25, but at this point he is looking more like an expensive liability than a necessity. Especially this season, considering Ambro proved to be a much better player than flamini.

Seedorf= 8m 34 years old and a very solid midfielder. Seedorf is a true workhorse and at 34 seems to be 28. However, should we really be paying this much for a player who will most likely spend 60% of the season on the bench, especially if a player like Lazzari joins the club?

Zambrotta= 8m A solid fullback when on form, but at the price were paying Antonini seems like a much better deal who earns just 3m.

When looking at some of these players, I find it hard to critique Ronaldinho personally. Last season Dinho's contribution would equal all the players listed above combined. I personally find it unfair especially given the reason we reached 3rd was because of injuries and our poor strikers.

However, Like Han said earlier, Dinho is not a necessity for discussion at this time as we have alot more pressing concerns to attend to.

We need midfielders, a 20+ goal scoring foreward, a decent gk, someone who can replace nesta.

You're talking USD right. Coz otherwise those figures are wild!!

Besides that...there's an interview which Zee gave after the Chicago match. I read it on tribal. He says he's a person who likes to finish contracts and that he's got one more year left in his. (2011 July his contract ends). He also has an interest in MLS.

So..I guess this is Zee's last season. With Pippo, I doubt the contract extension was for an equivalent amount. And to just cut him off would have been to act like Madrid. Last season, he was never used much even when he was fit. He looked much better than KJH on the ball, and I think we can't cite poor performance in his case.

Nesta is Nesta. As long as he's there, all the other defenders can only get better right?

Pirlo? I already said we should sell him. I love him, but if you have a deep lying playmaker your tactics are pretty much decided then and there. You automatically require one DM to cover, and either two defensive wingers or offensive fullbacks etc.

Nope afraid not jack. Those figures are what we pay and then they get taxed and the players receive their wage. We pay 16m Euros for Ronaldinho and he receives 8m after taxes.

I understand seedorf staying on board but I was not personally impressed with Pippo last season; he missed far too many chances imo. I just hope he got a wage reduction but I just don't see it. If he took one, Galliani would have creamed himself on goal.com

Nesta is WC no denying it, i'm just worried that if he gets a serious injury our season is pretty much over sad.gif

No arguments over pirlo tongue.gif I love him too but he like Kaka and Ronaldinho makes our team so dependent on him that we end up suffering.

Nesta is the best defender in the world; when fit. Sadly, that's no longer true for a fair part of every season =/...

Agreed. I'm tired of arguing over Dinho. Think as you wish, I don't like him and I stand for whatever I've said on his behalf.

FWIW I agree with you.

Some news for you guys:

There reports emerging that Dida may be given a new 1 year extention at 1m year. Storari may be sold as Sampdoria and Genoa are interested.

Juventus have offered Zebina for Oddo but we have declined and produced a counter offer. Oddo for Trezeguet. Its not reported whether there would be cash included in this deal.

Rui costa goodheart.gif has said that we have first dibs for benfica's 3 super talents, David Luiz, Cardoza, and Di Maria above all other clubs. Many clubs are linked with these three brilliant players.

Reports in spain, mainly AS, have said that we are very keen on Diego Alves. His release clause is 15m but it seems Almeria will negotiate around 10m. If he is to come in, its reported that Abbiati will be most likely be sold to another club like Genoa etc.

We are linked with Cannavaro and reports indicate that there has been contact.

At this point of time it's hard to tell anything about new transfer ( my personall opinion is that he won't go no where one more season ), we should snipe him last year when we could get him for 25 Mil € when Leonardo wanted him ( i hate Berlusconi and Galliani Leo made the a fortune with Kaka, Pato etc etc they should listen to him =... Personally Dzeko is my friend ( and one of the best strikers in the world )but 40 Mil € for him is crazy because we are buying him from Wolfsburg that is mid table German club. I love Milan and i think that at the moment we don't need Dzeko our main target should be defence - flanks - mid - for 40 Mil € we can buy three or four great players. We will see what is going to happend.

U see he want us : http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y...sl=de&tl=en

Um. No, not so much. At least not according to Milan's audited financial statements. We don't pay the taxes on wages according to the audit.

Well, I know that we have problems in defence but we have more in the attack. We need a player like Edin Dzeko who can score often.

Agreed. I'm tired of arguing over Dinho. Think as you wish, I don't like him and I stand for whatever I've said on his behalf.

You could have saved a lot of finger energy then and just came out and said just that, instead of listing all the facts and reasons as to why Dinho should be hung out to dry. I would have respected that and wouldn't have questioned you as I feel the same way about Ambro, I just don't like the type of player he is, and I've said this countless times. But I also admitted that this season in the first half of it that is, he was immense.

QUOTE (Zed.D @ Jun 1 2010, 07:06 AM) *
While I'm glad this argument is over, I think you would have saved both your and every Dinho supporter's time if you had admitted that you just don't like him in the first place. instead you said that it was a 'fact' that he was of no good to this team, which is not true.

Thankyou!

The deadline of 31-may has passed so the clause for Dzeko of 40 million euro's isn't valid anymore.

The Wolfsburg chief has expressed and underlined: "Dzeko is NOT for sale. He remains at Wolfsburg 100% sure", says Hoeness.

I say: **** Hoeness with his *****-*** negotiation style.
