Papa on the right, Antonini on the left and Zambrotta wherever is needed smile.gif.
We need a midfielder more than we need a full back i think.
We can not expect good performances from Gattuso now. Strasser is good but still too young to play on highest level games.

Papa is not a fullback, even though he can play there. Aogo shouldn't cost more than 5-6 million, and if we sign him it doesn't mean we won't sign a midfielder.
CHU-LIP
Attacking midfielder right and central sided with some pace is my priority. Today we played with Ignazio Abate as right winger and I barely noticed him, and later when he was subbed off and Massimo Oddo was on the field I saw Oddo playing as right sided midfielder/winger. This shows we have no one for that position.

Ledesma costs 5 mil. euros and knowing Galliani we will sign only one more player. So if I have to choose between a FB and CM I say CM smile.gif

Maybe becouse when Ronaldinho and Pirlo will be back we will play 4-3-1-2 and wont need a winger ?

1: if you are actually right about that, then all we have to do is send a little letter to God with the note they can play every game 90 minutes

2: I still have to see Ronaldinho being able to play as an attacking midfielder behind two strikers; I wouldn't call Ronaldinho a midfielder so we will play with three forwards which seems too unbalanced against some tough sides in my honest opinion

3: we have a huge lack of attacking players with pace; without Pato we only have Abate with some pace up front and we all could see how much [nothing] he adds as right winger
Dracoris
I'm still a fan of screwing the traditional formations and playing to our strength. Freakin ball up and buy VDV. Then we play a 4-2-3-1 with Ambro and Flamini playing as DMs. Flamini will be box-box, Ambro will pwn all who attempt to pass him. Ronnie on the left, Pirlo playing more offensive in the middle and VDV on the right. Pato is our star up top scoring 30 goals for the season and winning the Fifa Player of the Year. Seems like a flawless plan to me tongue.gif

Sub Borri or Hunt in for the Mid of your choice for a tactical change to a 4-3-1-2 if desired.

Then bench Pirlo. Playing both won't work, I think.

Not in that formation.

But playing Pirlo and Seedorf in 4-5-1 and Leo's 4-3-3 worked good.

Hmm we played two friendlies and in both he looked tired and could barely keep up.

Seedorf imo should only be played in the big games, playing him week in week out in the Serie A against the small teams will only do more harm then good

I'm not only talking about these friendlies but in the past few seasons apart from last year due to injuries and stuff he was one of our better players.
And besides the whole team looks tired and can barley keep up we've only been training for 10 days. And both games he was our best player

I will have to respectfully disagree with you. At Seedorf's age and stamina level he can contribute a lot more if he were to be subbed in. Ex: Chievo last year.

The kids were even better then him in the friendlies...

And maybe Seedorf does come off as having 'great' seasons because he delivers in the big matches, but in the matches against small opposition he appears to barely give a sh!t most of the time. That's Seedorf's biggest problem. Also the guy's 34, you really think he can be a regular starter for an entire season?

Look at the older guys last season who were burnt out because they had to play in practically every game:

Seedorf: Got injured a lot when he usually stays injury free throughout a season
Ambro: His form dipped rapidly in the last few months because he was overused so much, this while having a perfectly good alternative on the bench in Flamini
Dinho: Another player who played in practically every game and his form suffered in the last few months due to exostion
Pirlo: Same thing as Dinho and Ambro

This is why we need to have good rotation players for the position the players I mentioned above occupy. We can't rely on them constantly, they're not 20 anymore. Playing Seedorf twice a wekk to me is not a smart thing. And I think it's time for Seedorf to slip into a more backup position instead of starter , Flamini and Ambro need to be rotated on a regular basis if they're not going to be played in thes ame formation. We can't do what we did last season, which resulted in the massive injury list we aquired by the month of January
nuh
I never said that the squad shouldn't be rotated. But there are lots of talks of this player coming and this player starting ahead of seedorf, which I personally find wrong. I think we need to sign 2 young midfielders who could replace and be rotated for both pirlo and seedorf. And thats it, I think we've got a good first team if only we just sign a striker instead if that awful Borriello, I just think that our main problem is our bench which is just poor. Like last year if someone gets injured we are simply done for.
X-Offender
Seedorf should have been used as a sub long, long ago. For the past 2-3 seasons he's been a walking zombie. No wonder he's always booed by San Siro.
Jack Sparrow
Bah....booing means nothing. I've heard people abusing Pippo Inzaghi from the stands and in 10 minutes they're screaming with joy as he does those wild celebrations. laugh.gif Heck even I abuse Pirlo when I'm watching the match. Yet I'd kill a kitten if you said anything over-bad about him.

But I know exactly what you mean. Zee is like Van Gogh. Pure genius but T&C apply. I still love him though. He's the most unpredictable player in our offensive line...bar whoever our star CAM is. On song, the man is tactically impossible to stop.

You use strength, he'll counter with strength. You give him space, he'll kill you with his passing and shooting. He can hold up the ball...or even make runs into the box.

wub.gif

Genius!! But yes, he should have been promoted to elderly statesman by now.
han2503
Well Seedorf is a Genius, but like you said, T&C apply as to when he chooses to use that genius. Unless it's a game that peaks his interest he's a no show. He's been there, done that 10 times over. That's why we need some younger players coming through who would play their heart out no matter who we're playing against
d'Arc.LP
Galliani repeated yesterday that we can't sign Honda cos' he is non-EU. Does this guy knows that we can still sign one non-EU ? I've really started to think that either he is stupid or that place is already "reserved" for a player we might sign in the future.

Can anyone explain this to me, I'm getting confused ?

He's either trying to fool people by blaming the Lega for new regulations instead of admitting straight out that he can't buy anyone.

Or there's a non EU mid coming in that we don't know about... Who knows, at this point who cares. I personally can't see us buying anyone decent and good enough to be a first team player

They'd be nuts to let him go, he was one of their better players. Wouldn't mind him, cooties and all.

That would be Galliani's way of secretly telling us we have a non-EU on the way....I mean, its pretty obvious we have a spot open, and contrary to popular belief I know Galliani is not that stupid. So....hmmmm.

I wouldn't mind Lass at all. In fact, he'd be the type of player our midfield would benefit from. But if I had to choose, I'd still pick VDV.

I'm a manager mode junkie!

But I can't stand online play!! Sometimes the server trouble is just awful. The lagging causing the game to stutter thus ruining a play, and my biggest pet peeve of all, people quitting on you just because they're losing!

Anybody that quits early should get a day ban from playing FIFA online, that'd make 'em think twice.

I'll be giving FIFA 11 a try this time around. Until last year, I've only been playing PES, but I'm growing kind of bored of it, and the lack of licensing is annoying.

I've never really got into the whole PES thing, at one point sure it was miles ahead of FIFA in terms or gameplay but both are on level playing field these days. Plus like you said the licensing thing is very annoying.

Hopefully there is a huge improvement on manager mode in 11, because 10 was a disgrace on that aspect. There were so many huge bugs in it that you wonder why you spent over €60 on something that they didn't even bother to test well

Fifa now has Career mode, they said they re-did manager mode so much they felt like they should re-name it. That and the skilled passing are the two main improvements released so far, along with Creation center and the jukebox.

You think so? From 2002 until 2008 I only played the Pro Evo games, but FIFA has way surpassed it now I reckon. The gameplay on PES is terrible, it's like playing an N64 game with upgraded graphics!

Hmm, renaming it does not technically mean that they've improved/fixed all of the problems Fifa 10's manager mode had.

We'll see, hopfully it not another case of money down the drain

Well to tell you the truth I haven't played PES 10 I had 9 though and I thought it was more or less on the same level. I mean graphics wise Fifa trump them but the gameplay on that version I thought PES was better. I'm more of a Fifa fan myself so I'm biased on that front. We'll see how the 11 series turn out...
Dracoris
My favorite thing is the skilled passing, I feel like players who are poor at the won't be able to just boot it long anytime they want now. According to EA, basically every pass is manual now. I love that. They also made defense a little harder which is great for me because I really love using tricks and neat passes to beat defenses. I guess you guys can understand why I want VDV so much tongue.gif

Non Eu transfer? WTF is galliani smoking. We have 1 slot open right now, we've reported every transfer that has occurred on this forum. The only thing I can think of is that:

1) Midfielder we want is non eu (mamadou diarra comes to mind laugh.gif )

2) We are signing another player who is non eu on top of the midfielder

3) We want to save that slot for January in case sh*t hits the fan and we need players.\

4) He's a son of a b*tch who should have retired a long time ago.
CHU-LIP
it's 4 plus maybe 1, 2 or 3
jbryant1
Yeah only in italy could a president stay in there like Galliani. he is responsible for taking this team from the top 3 to the top 15. most would be fired.

No players will come. Madrid will choose to sell and galliani will personally fly to madrid to find that VDV is to expensive. we have ambrosini and seedorf he will say.

Go back where u belong Galliani doing stage performances of the Adams Family as Uncle Fester.

I say f*ck the new CM signing and promote merkel. He seems good enough. He can be seedorf back up.

flamini(gattuso/strasser)----Pirlo(ambrosini)

--------Seedorf(Merkel)

BTW heres something interesting about merkel:

His background is khazakstanian and belarusian. He immigrated to Germany when he was young. So he he has 3 passports. He played for Germany u15, u19 as well. He rejected the u21 team because he wants to play for Belarus first team. He is also a big belarusian nationalist and a huge huge fan of hleb.

Though....he could play for Italy aswell in 2 years

Blue, I think you rely too much on the primavera kids when in reality it's too soon to do that. Surely, I'd choose Strasser over Gattuso any day (but only as 6th choice) and I wouldn't mind Verdi being the vice-Pato instead of the parting Adiyiah, but this squad needs proved (but not old) champions rather than primavera kids yet to be conceived in the big stage.
Jack Sparrow
Believe me X-Off...if I thought we were one signing away from the big-time I'd agree with you. But look...we're in transition let's accept it. The money we can spend will be just be enough to buy rotation spots for the first XI which is to run hard while staying in the same place.

The two games the youth have played, have been good enough to suggest they can gel with the team and play. The idea that only mouth watering magic can justify the kid is good enough to start for our XI is what put us in the current position of having too many past-it players.

It's true, playing with kids could mean us getting our @sses handed out to us in the CL, coz of the inexperience. I remember Man Utd fans thinking the world of Rafael Da Silva yet that first leg against us last year when he went up against a 'past-it' R80 had them re-think everything.

But where is Merkel gonna gain experience if he cannot play. Our co-ownerships/loans rarely seem to work, since quite simply very few teams in the peninsula play with the same level of technical proficiency that Milan possess. Groom them in our current system is what I feel.

Let's be clear..for the next 3 or 4 years, we're fighting for CL place and nothing more than 2-3 world class signings will change that. Some intensive first XI experiences alongside what top players we have will be great for the children. That's how they'll improve and maybe even reach maximum potential.

That's also probably the reason why Allegri was hired. Coz he's been in this spot before. Already, he's showing a significant change from predecessors. The kids are actually getting solid playing time.

..i think this is the major problem with Milan and serie A generally, at 26 a player is still considered v.young..the reason why players like Giovinco, Santon, go to waste..there's this italian kid playing for ManU and doing well, I've forgotten the name..imo youth should be given a decent chance..
