This fish would consider the other dutch striker who plays for the dirtyrottenscousers.

Biglia is apparently compared to Pirlo quite often according to his wiki. Great passer, not so much of a scorer (5 goals, 4 years). I'm still trying to find more info on him.

Hes 24 yrs old btw.

Babel just isn't a talented footballer.

He's tall and quick, so throughout his youth days he could just beat people with either speed or strength. Now he actually has to have some sort of footballing ability he's failing badly.

Those criticisms are pretty fair to some degree... but I think he's better than you're giving him credit for. He fell out of favor with Rafa (shocking, half the team does this each year) and his game stagnated. He's pacey and has a fantastic long shot.

He profiles like a decent secondary striker, but I'd have reservations. Basically:

-He disappears for long periods during a game
-He's maddeningly inconsistent
-Although he's pretty big and fast I don't know that he really likes to play physical enough to fit well in the Italian game. Seems like a guy who Italian defenders could get out of his game very easily and quickly
-I've never really seen him use his head well (I do watch a decent amount of Liverpool)
-Not seen as a hustle player/sometimes seems to dog it
-For a supposedly creative player his tricks and moves don't work all that often.
-I don't think he's worth giving up Huntelaar

He's young and pretty talented though... and its hard to tell how much of his poor form was Rafa related (ie not playing enough nor being put in the right fit/position to succeed) and how much was what kurtsimonw said above. Rafa spent a lot of money each year at LFC... and each year he would end up hating half the signings 3 months into the season. Babel never really was given a nice stretch of starts to get in a groove and get comfortable. It started off as Rafa breaking him in slowly... then just continued. Used almost always as a sub & usually came in a the 60'-70' mark. I do see the appeal... especially from what I'm hearing about Allegri's preferred style.

On that point - football-lineups.com has him running a 4-3-1-2 most of the time (this was mentioned above):

http://www.football-lineups.com/team/Cagli...08-2009/fixture

Seems like a good fit for the personnel Milan currently has. Probably a big reason he got hired...

Kuyt would be a fantastic fit in Milan, I agree. Heady player and he works best in spaces no one else on the current team seems to. I don't think Hodgson is any rush to sell him, though. They are trying to raise enough money to afford Loic Remy... so maybe...

Plus Kuyt's a worker, which we don't really have in any of our strikers (maybe Bori but Kuyt could play closer to mid.)

I don't like Kuyt that much - I'd still prefer Dzeko or Rossi over him anyday.

Agreed, yes Kuyt works his @ss off but other then that I don't see anything special in him, he's not a great goal scorer, not really skillfull and has ok passing abilities

Overrated player since his Ajax days.

Am I mixing you up with someone else? cause I thought you didn't use to rate (or like) Kuyt... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)
Anyway, I think he proved he's a very good footballer at the World Cup. is he better than Rossi or Dzeko? IMO no. but if we can't get players of that caliber, then I wouldn't mind Kuyt at Milan.

LMAO @ the highlighted part and the capitalized exclusively!

They're so embarrassing sometimes it's sad. do they think people are stupid? I'm sure I read about the Honda rumor way before it was even mentioned on that site. they copy/paste/translate from gazzetta, mediaset, etc (sometimes even Football Italia!!) and still manage to come up with delusional we're-the-center-of-world-football claims like this.

They deserve a special 'puke' smiley for this one.

I don't think Kuyt is a player Milan's gameplay would especially support. He's not an ideal Milan deal, an also not an ideal player for Allegri's style, at least according to what I've seen and heard.

I think he's a very good footballer but I agree, he may not be suited to our (or Allegri's) style of play. if he isn't however, I can't see how Rossi is.

How's this?

In other news, Tuttomercatoweb quotes qsvs as saying that Milan are very close to signing Honda. link

They also quote Radio Marca (yes, I know. bad source) as saying Milan are interested in Rafael Van der Vaart. link

And they quote Rino's agent as saying he and Rino will meet with the club next week. link

They also quote Corriere (yes, bad source) as saying that Milan are interested in Lille midfielder Mavuba. Or maybe Anderlecht midfielder Kouyate. link

And finally they quote the Sun (oy) as saying that Villa are after Flamini. link

Honda's agent denies everything but says that we were in contact with him a few weeks ago and said we needed to sell players before we could make a move for him.

Kolarov leaves Serie A. what a shame that is. I always hoped we'd sign him... would have been great with him in the left, Silva in the right and Nesta-Papa in the center. *sigh*

I bet Vargas is next.
