Ha, Captain, thanks for making my day. laugh.gif You are even more of an eternally optimist than I am. tongue.gif wink.gif Even if we do nothing, with injuries we are good for Top 7. Without them, we can finish Top 4, or maybe even 3, depending on how the other big clubs fare. But really, that's not doing well. That's doing alright.

How would that be even feasible on any level??

My god, who is allowing Leo to run rampant with their wallats, that's just ridiculous, no matter how much money you have!!

I read that about Kaka, don't know if I'd be happy or not about that tbh, because we all know the BS we'll get fed. That Kaka is the new saviour and we don't need anyone else.
CrazyMilanFan
i just read that genoa aare asking 15m for merkel.. I it is anything close to that then we obviously did a fail deal.

News:

-Areido Braida met with Serdar Tasci's agent (25 turkish defender) on friday. We are looking at moving for him as Rolando is out of our price range. They have scheduled another meeting for tomorrow to see if a transfer can happen.

News:

-Dzeko's agent is meeting galliani at via turrati today. Braida and G are currently at via turrati.

-Barcelona are preparing a bid of 60m euros for Neymar.

-Genoa has told Spartak moscow that Merkel costs 15m (should never have sold him, he shouldve been starting for us)

-Kaka's pops (agent) has requested that Madrid either end his contract or send him on loan. Kaka wants first team action as he wishes to make the 2014 world cup squad. They will meet with Mourinho tomorrow to see what the boss has in store for him.

-----------------------------

So Ibra 12.5 and Silva 7.5 will cost PSG 80 million per season (gross). So 4 years of contract = 320 million + 70 million transfer fee and bonuses = 390 million. (France has 75% tax for those who earn over 1m)

That's the key word here. perhaps Robinho is not a top star in his eyes. and who believes this lying bast@rd anyway? after his Silva/Ibra comments last month, I'll never ever believe what he says anymore. he can say all he wants, we'll see where we are on September 1.

When did I say he has no right to play for Germany? he has every right to do so. just like Rossi had every right to play for Italy (though some say he didn't!).

I think you can do everything your want as long as law allows you to. but you can't change your identity.

Like Ozil, Khedira, etc who are not even willing to sing the German national anthem? I don't buy it. their decision must have been a purely professional one. if I had the chance to play for one of the best football teams, I would've done the same.

Agreed

As for the names we're currently being linked to, especially the ones to replace Silva, it looks like there's no hope of even replacing him with someone even remotely decent. Just try to get Ogbonna and be done with it

okay.

I do believe that his identity is German though, based on what I have said. We should look further than how we look like, and where our parents come from, and instead look at where and how that person has lived his own life, and that's a German life. Well, that's my opinion.

Nothing to do with how you look like, what color you skin or hair is, etc.

When you grow up in your Turkish parent's home, you get exposed to their culture, their language, their food etc. if you ask me, the feeling of belonging will be more in favor of the one coming from the closest persons to you in your life ie your parents rather than the outside world.

On the other hand, that's why Balotelli always insists on feeling Italian because he was raised by Italians not his real Ghanaian parents.
Fillipo Simone
A latin rule says "pars pro toto" isn't always wise. How can we make such ridiculous generalizations?

Serdar Tasci's parents were raised in Germany as well. He maybe exposed to Turkish culture and to German culture, but in the end it's his decision. He has every right to call himself a German.
dst
We won't sell any other top star? Phew, Nocerino is safe!

So we're becoming like Arsenal right? Because Arsenal would let Merkel go... hope we get Kaka back too, that would be even more like Arsenal!

I'm not specifically talking about Tasci, I don't even know him.

For the tenth time, yes, he has every right to play for Germany or call himself German. but how do you know if he feels German or calls himself German? have you asked him? have you read an interview where he says that? what?

As I said before, playing for Germany doesn't "necessarily" mean one feels German. at least that's what my common sense says. if one feels German, there should be no reason that they refuse to sing the national anthem, right?
Fillipo Simone
Right. You say refuse. Is this a fact? Did they refuse to sing the anthem or just didn't sing it? Because I know plenty of other players who don't sing the anthem.

At the same time by living in Germany he gets exposed by German culture, German language, etc. and actually experiences that every where he goes in his country, only possibly (I don't know what's going on at their home) at home not. And every situation, every home, every person, and every person's feelings, is different from others. It can go either way with how Tasci feels about his own identity.

Difference in culture and/or personality(or at least how one feels about something) influences this. The Italian players all sing along, and you see how committed they are with the national anthem, while we Dutch people not so much. Yet players being as Dutch as possible won't sing.

So singing along with a national anthem or not, also doesn't say everything.

Refuse was the wrong choice of word, they don't sing it because of their background, not out of hotheadedness or for political reasons. yes I too have seen players who don't sing their national anthem (very seldom, though) but these are not the same thing.

This discussion started after Fillipo said Tasci isn't a Turkish player but German. if by that he meant the country Tasci represents, yes, it's Germany. other than that, that's something I'll never accept no matter how long we argue over it. as I said, one can't change their identity. in the end the most politically correct way to call these players would be German-Turkish. Italian-American. Algerian-French, etc. because they belong to both in some ways.

Give us an update blue!

It was an interesting discussion. And seeing how it seems like Zed's main issue was being Fillipo denying Tasci being a Turkish player, I actually tend to agree to an extend with him, while I do believe if anything his identity is a mix of both Turkisch and German. Though I would call him a German player since he chose for Germany, but that doesn't mean he is just that I guess.

Which made me think about a discussion I saw the other day on tv (a nice while back). Some Dutch football experts, on a football talk show, talked about this player playing for a country and he didn't celebrate when he scored against the country of his parent(s). They talked about how this was a discrage, while he picked for this country so he must act like it. Obviously the ones who said that were 100% Dutch (as in so are their parents), so I'd say they are ignorant! They don't know how it is to have parent(s) from a different country than yours. The player obviously didn't want to disrespect his family, so he didn't cheer. What's the problem with that? Afterall, he did his best for his national team, hell, he scored.

Maybe this has not much to do with the discussion (but I was so upset about it so love to rant about it), except for I guess it does show someone like that could have feelings for both countries. So I guess his identity is a mix of both, and it's good that one can choose himself to play for which one.
