I was hoping Ibra would choose #9, with Cassano wearing #10. It makes more sense.

Ibra number 10?

Who will be number 9?

Agreed.

#9 and #11 are now free. Maybe Emanuelson will choose the latter.

Update:

the following are players we are being linked with on a serious level:

1) Lass Diarra has come to terms with Fenerbache and is close to joining them according to spanish papers. Fenerbache has offered Diarra a much higher wage than milan and that is the reason behind the decline. Price tag unkown

2) Miguel Veloso is close to joining Dynamo Kiev. Mykhailo Spasov an lawyer in ukraine reviewing the case has said that veloso will join in the coming weeks. The reported agreed price is 7m Euros.

3) Aquilani's agent has declined a move to serie A for his client. He has said that Alberto will most likely stay at liverpool.

Then all these midfielders moving elsewhere have been one for one blessings.

I remember the Strootman stuff suddenly stopped with the say of the agent to decide after the EUROs.

EUROs are done now.

Galliani?

Update:

-Urbano Cairo (Torino's sporting director) has said that he spoke to galliani and that they have a good relationship, which means the transfer will take place sooner or later. Torino are interested in Mesbah.

-Sampdorias sporting director has rejected the talk of cassano arriving, saying it is not the correct time.

-Ganso and Santos are in huge disagreements over contract figures. Santos have offered Ganso 50k week but the brazillian wants 250k. Sources are saying Ganso is trying to push for an exit.

-Taiwo was spotted talking with Marseille directors. A potential switch back maybe on the cards.

This is what's wrong with football. we all criticize clubs like City and PSG for over-spending, but we rarely do the money whores like Diarra who prefer to join Fenerbahce and play in the Turkish league instead of Milan/Serie A if it means they'll get more $$$. there's almost no morality left in football.

-Santos' director:"We like Robinho, but he'll stay at Milan. There’s nothing going on with Robinho and we haven't had any contacts"

-Galliani spoke to Preziosi about a possible destro transfer.

-Preziosi: "Veloso to Milan? No, he has already joined another club."

-Preziosi: "When we reach an agreement with Siena for Destro, then I'll say where he will go to play."

-Galliani: "Milan’s transfer market is closed. Or rather: it's very closed."

-Galliani: "We have 9 midfielders. Our transfer market is closed; both incoming and outgoing. Perhaps only Mesbah will leave."

-Galliani: "A salary increase for Boateng? These are private affairs. All the players at Milan already have extremely high salaries."

-Inzaghi has agreed to become a youth coach for milan. He will hang up his boots and coach allieve nazionale.

-Rumours in the Italian media are coming out that say that this is Allegri's final season with milan if he doesn't win anything. Berlusconi will sack him and try to replace him with Guardiola.

Be rational, we can't afford Guardiola. The Italian press can say all they want, we're smart enough to draw conclusions for ourselves.

Our 9 midfielders:

Boateng
Emanuelson

Nocerino, Montolivo, Flamini
Constant, Ambrosini, Traoré

injured: Muntari - it seems like any other injury to a starter will bite us a lot sad.gif

Van Bommel, Aquilani and Seedorf out; Montolivo, Traoré and Constant in; and Flamini back from injury but Muntari long term injured now; are the changes in midfield. We already had a weak midfield, yet we didn't really improve.
X-Offender
We desperately need a new DM. Galliani knows it, he's just playing fool. We'll probably snatch someone in the second half of August. As for the LB, I guess we'll end up keeping Dídac Vilà, along with Emanuelson and Antonini. I wouldn't mind at all if our starting line-up next season was:

Abbiati
Abate - Mexes - T. Silva - Urby
Montolivo - DM - Nocerino
Boateng
Pato - Ibra

The prerogative is no injuries.
CHU-LIP
Obviously you are right, and Galliani's words never can be taken seriously (just read the Preziosi above his). A new defensive midfielder who can both tackle and pass is the minimum we need, and the the maximum we can hope for. Since we have no playmaker in midfield when Montolivo is out, I don't want someone who can defense but not make key passes. The new midfielder should be able to play both as our anchor and in side-central midfield, just like Montolivo (who also can cover Boateng's position, especially with the arriving of that new midfielder). Strootman is exactly that kind of player.
Boateng
Nocerino, Strootman, Montolivo

Both Ambrosini and Montolivo are decent anchor backups, and Montolivo is also a decent backup for Boateng making Emanuelson 3rd choice (2nd choice is bad idea). And obviously we have plenty backup for the side-central midfield positions, including Flamini who is defensively strong, and a decent player.

Me thinks we're actually moving for this guy. Is he better than Abbiati, though? A few years back I would have said yes, but now I'm not so sure. Abbia has been great for us in the last two years.
Fillipo Simone
I think he is. Abbiati is good, really good but he makes those howlers every now and then which make you think twice. Not that Cesar hasn't had his bad moments, but well...Abbiati's are simply put more often and more stupid if you ask me.
X-Offender
Howlers? I can only think of Udinese and Juventus last season, but I don't remember any howlers from Abbiati in a long time. Maybe you're confusing him with Dida. unsure.gif

Ain't two extra stupid goals per season enough? I mean, that kind of goal...is worse then the ones Dida used to get.
CHU-LIP
After a tough start this season, Abbiati came back in good form having eventually a good season. The season before he was really solid too. Gotta wonder though whether he won't get injured again and/or have a tough period again. He did miss quite a lot from last season, and will only get older. Abbiati is known to be injury prone.

I don't like the idea having him as first goalkeeper and an error prone Amelia as his backup. If it's up to me at least one of them get replaced. Unsure whether Júlio César should be the change though since he can mistakes as well. Milan only wants him for free, naturally, I heard. If we get him, then good luck to him.

Obviously hardly a rumour to get excited about, but that is Milan for you nowadays. Inter actually pays money for a new goalkeeper, and Milan are now waiting whether Júlio César (who just become replaced by that new goalkeeper) becomes a free agent or not (I figure he earns too much to be kept, and teams may not pay money for him).
Bluesummers
I think they might loan him to us if we agree to pay some of his wages. Something along those lines. Too be honest we don't really need him and Inter aren't in a position to keep him on their wage bill as a reserve.

The idea helping out Inter doesn't excite me.

-Official: Comi will be on loan at Reggina for a year.

-The mesbah deal is close to a wrap. Here are the details.

Torino will co-own Mesbah for somewhere around 1.1-1.4 M Euros.

-Several English clubs are interested in signing Taiwo.

-We are linked with Julio Cesare. We are willing to take him but only a free transfer and if Julio Cesar takes a wage cut from 4m to 2.2m. If the deal goes through Abbiati could be transfered to Udinese or Torino.

-Galliani has been in contact with wonder kid Marco Veratti's agent. Veratti was set to join Juve but the deal has collapsed.

-We are being linked with Alonso.

Xabi Alonso's agent: "There isn't any truth in the rumors about Milan and my client. The truth is that Xabi Alonso won't leave Real Madrid.".

-We are linked more heavily with Destro.

GALLIANI: "Destro? If not any player leaves, then not any player will arrive. I say 'if' because everything is possible"

LO MONACO: "Veloso will join Dinamo Kiev. I can exclude that Destro stays at Genoa. We've rejected offers for Merkel"

-Colturani (a market specialist with close ties to IMilan) says that Inter are close to signing Silvestre for 8m. He also said that Milan will bring in 2 new players soon and that Galliani is full of hot air.

--------------------------------------

-Inter are close to the signing of GK Handanovic. Reported transfer will be 11m + 50% of defender Davide Faraoni. Handanovic will sign a 4 year contract worth 2m/ year.

-Inter are looking too offload GK Julio Cesare if the deal for Handonovic goes through. However, Cesar is reluctant to leave milan as he is settled. Inter have offered to Terminate his contract but he has refused stating that "it is not written in his contract that he has to start" Julio Cesar is on a contract worth 4m/ year.

-Di natale has extended his contract with Udinese for another year. We were linked with him earlier.

-Lucio to Juve almost done. 2.5m/ 2 years.

-Juve have turned their attention to Balzaretti and could start negotations in a couple weeks.

-Robin Van persie has stated to the press that he will not extend his arsenal contract due to different views on how the club should proceed in the future. Van Persie's contract expires June 2013.

-Arsenal on RVP:

"

We have to respect Robin's decision not to renew his contract. Robin has one year to run on his current contract and we are confident that he will fulfil his commitments to the Club.

"We are planning with ambition and confidence for next season with Arsenal's best interests in mind."

Abbiati has been really, really good in the past two seasons, but IMO Cesar is the better goalie by a considerable distance. and 2 (?) years younger.

I can't lie, I would love him at Milan, but what would we do with Abs if we sign Cesar? we can't just throw him out after arguably his best season for us. if Abbiati had had a poor season, we shouldn't have hesitated. but unfortunately now's not a good time.

How come Man U are not after Cesar? it's the perfect solution for all parties (well, apart from Cesar wanting to remain in Milan)
Fillipo Simone
They gave way too much money for de Gea to give up after just one season.
CHU-LIP
De Gea is better than Júlio César. After an ackward start with ManU (you could seehim lacking confidence earlier), he's done some excellent stuff. Some amazing saves he has done.

Goalkeepers are known for having a disappointing first season with a new club. De Gea is likely to turn out great for them. Has he already had his eye surgery?

If anything, letting him go after his first season seems ridiculous to me. With this spirit PSV would have let go of Gómez after his first season, and never had those excellent ones. Also Stekelenburg needed time to grow into what he became for Ajax. And so on...

De Gea is young and new at the club, but the class is obvious.

News:

-So some interesting things are happening at Inter. Apparantly Morratti is not happy with last season's situation and is looking to reshape the club from bottom up.

They have terminated Lucio's contract and he's on his way to Juve.

They are looking to sell Maicon and Pazzini.

They are looking to offload Julio Cesare.

And the latest edition to the transfer list is Sneijder. They are weighing offers for him.

We are linked with Julio Cesar in a serious manner and inter seem willing to terminate his contract. If we are able to convince him to accept a lower wage, he will most likely be coming here this summer.

He's on 4.1m a year and we want him down to 2.2m.

So yeah, over 20 million euros (in a way). At least we paid around 11 million euros + Merkel.
