PLease find out the new wages. Otherwise there will be hell to pay for if Ambro ever has a bad game. We'll just assume he is on Five million a year and talk of how Strasser should have played instead.

I believe it should be below the €2 million mark.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Pato and Robinho gone next year. I'd keep Maxi for all the reasons stated above (but not for 8m no way), trade Binho for Ganso, and buy Tevez.

Strootman and Ogbonna would be nice based on what you guys are saying but I don't know them.

Still, you don't usually take a player's number away from him.

If it is as you say, a gesture from the player himself than it's another thing. But we're allowed to be hopeful tongue.gif

I looked at some clips of this Strootman kid, he looks impressive. I know, youtube can make me look amazing, but the talent is very obvious to see, especially in the way he picks his passes

I am wondering too what it means, Van Bommel taking Strootman's number. Van Bommel is doing his best to convince Milan to sign Strootman. Van Marwijk is also a big admirer of Strootman. A year ago he called him up when playing for FC Utrecht, and he has said things about him like he is a player who is not quickly confused, and is strong in battles. And that he has seen enough attributes that will make him a top player.

Ogbonna is tauted as being the next big Italian defender, the fact that Prandelli keeps calling him up while he's playing Serie B football is also a huge deal

I don't know much about Acerbi except I heard that he's Chievo's best player of the season. On Ogbonna, I've seen him a couple times in international friendlies and one of his main assets is obviously his physical strength. He can play both as centre-back and full-back (mainly on the left).

Alberto Aquilani considered for shock Manchester City switch

Aquilani is set for a return to Anfield this summer, after AC Milan opted not to take up their option to buy the 27-year-old following a season-long move, with the player falling 6 games short of the 25 league appearances needed to trigger an automatic £5 million permanent deal.

It is the second time in recent seasons that Aquilani has experienced such disappointment, with Juventus also turning down their option to sign the player after a similar loan switch in 2010.

The former Italy international is now set for an uncertain return to Merseyside in pre-season, having asked to quit the club just 12 months and 18 matches into a five-year-contract, after failing to impress Reds bosses Roy Hodgson and then Kenny Dalglish, who both agreed to farm him out on loan.

However, while Aquilani's agent remains in Milan trying to convince the Rossoneri to change their mind, reports elsewhere suggest Manchester City are contemplating a £2 million offer, with manager Roberto Mancini keen for the former Roma star to replace the out-going David Pizarro and Owen Hargreaves.

Pizarro has returned to Rome following a six-month spell at City, and while Mancini was impressed with his influence off the pitch, he is targetting added depth in a bid to make a push in the Champions League next season.

Aquilani is likely to be available for a cut-price of around £4 million - double what City are reportedly ready to offer, but still a bargain for a player with 21 caps for Italy.

Aquilani, who tuned down moves to Arsenal and Chelsea as a 16-year-old, cost Liverpool £17 million in 2010, in a deal they are still making payments on.

AC MILAN BID FOR PSV MIDFIELDER
Posted on Saturday, 19th May 2012 by Forza Italian Football Staff
AC Milan have made a move to sign PSV Eindhoven’s Kevin Strootman according to reports.
The 22-year-old is apparently a target for Premier League side Manchester United, but it seems the Rossoneri have stolen a march on their transfer rivals.
Talksport are reporting that the Italian side have already made a bid for the midfielder as they look to further reinforce their squad following the signings of Riccardo Montolivo and Bakaye Traore.
Strootman made 27 appearances for PSV this season in the Eredivisie.

I really hope it's true. This kid has a bright future ahead of him, we shouldn't let the occasion slip away. Hopefully van Bommel and Raiola's Dutch relationships will prove to be a helping hand in the matter.
han2503
A move like this would lift the fans imo.

He's no big name but I think his potential could be great, and the management showing such incentive other than bringing in freebies would really show the fans that there is intent from Milan to move forward this summer.

After this, we either need to get in another good creative CM or just pay up to Liverpool to sign Aqui, because we can't go into next season with just Monto, even if Seedorf renews
Fillipo Simone
Sure, he'd be great, that's what we need - a future investment.

I also think Rossi from Villareal would be great. I know he's injured and will be injured for a longer period, but anyway, I'd take him and gamble.

We can't have 2 gambles on our hands.

Pato is already a huge gamble to keep, while Rossi would be another, only he'd cost a decent amount. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a great player, and having another Italian talent like that on our team would be amazing, but at this point, I don't think we can risk it

i think ManU have been heavily linked with strootman as well... If we want to get him then it has to be before the euros as afterthat every club will be full into market..

Wasn't Keita's contract running out?! what's the point of including him in their offer?

And it's not about the money, we need Silva more than we need anyone else in this team. we must make it abundantly clear to any suitors that Silva is not for sale so they won't come knocking for him again. I hate for Milan to be seen as a selling club, especially its stars. if we can't sign stars anymore, we could at least not lose those we already have.

Not exactly. But I think he can leave for free under some FIFA regulation, like when De Sanctis left Udinese for Sevilla in 2007 for free, even though his contract had not expired.

Getting Seydou Keita on a free is one thing, but actually paying transfer money for him or use it to make a sell cheaper? He's like 32 years old.

Times are changing ...

Honestly speaking, this new crop of players don't show any sign of belonging as did the old crop. Hence I have this gut feeling that Silva's move (if at all) would be easier than that of Sheva or Kaka's moves.

And (something I do believe in) why would he stay? So fans can chastise him ala Seedorf and Gattuso in their final seasons for Milan? Especially after such successful careers.

I believe he will be more successful somewhere else, let alone appreciated more wink.gif
Zed.D
Who said Silva is not appreciated enough here or he can be appreciated more somewhere else?? at a club like Barca where, according to Puyol, people think you're finished when you're past 30?!

Please stop you melodramatic nonsense.

Staying at a club as long as you have something valuable to give is one thing (Nesta) overstaying your welcome and making people forget every good thing you did through playing one awful game after another and looking like an ex-player every time you step on the pitch (as Gattuso DESCRIBED HIMSELF!), is another.

It's not about the age, Maldini played for us until 40, Nesta 36... every player's different, but I guess Silva has at least another 6 seasons to give to this club. I'd love to have him at Milan as long as he can play at the highest level. that's the sad side of football. you have to step aside when your time is up. something the likes of Seedorf are still struggling to come to terms with.

Bottom line is, Milan fans love, value and appreciate Silva unlike what you think.
Rossoneri7

Of course they do ... 5 years later though innocent.gif

Hence my point, why should he stay here? While he can go to Barca and be 10 times the successful player wink.gif

I find this bit very funny!

Go somewhere else where he's more appreciated?? LOL

Madrid or Barca? Some of the worst clubs when it comes to their fans. Messi scored his gagilliont goal for Barca this season, their fans barely blinked at it. Real? Where fans are famous for booing their players when they don't play "nice" football, even though they're winning? laugh.gif

Just ridiculous that you would say this because some have gotten tired of watching players who were once great and now can barely even be called players because they have physically deteriorated too much to play football in one of the top leagues.

Oh and the top of the lot woud be City, where Silva would be just another number to them earning £400k per week.

It's just ridiculous to try to make this point so that we feel bad over the entire Seedorf thing.

Silva is a greatly appreciated player at Milan and the fans love him. Also, I'm sure the fans who made the farewell for Rino, Pippo and Nesta so great also had moments where they criticised one of them for mistakes, but that does not mean that in the end they were not given a proper send off or that they won't be missed

Last night's final was the biggest in your face to the Spanish teams, Bayern and UEFA. You canot predict where one will be succesful, who would have thought, after the last 16 games that Chelsea would in the end become Champions

News says Milan close to sign Brazil U20 goalkeeper, Gabriel Vasconcellos Ferreira.

Gabriel Vasconcellos Ferreira, known as Gabriel (born September 27, 1992 in Unaí), is a Brazilian goalkeeper formed in the Cruzeiro youth team, and was promoted to the professional team 2010. He currently plays for A.C. Milan and Brazil U-20.

To be honest Zed, we have very little say in this .. Players turning down lucrative moves to (ala Gattuso to United) to stay at Milan (this was in 06 or 07).

And it is not like Gattuso just popped in and said play me now or I will eat you .. The coaches selected him, for whatever reason ... His form was not good? ok, but that does not erase the history. Or warrant excess rants and slurs against a LEGEND!

Then turn a blind eye on Pippo Inzaghi ... Why should Silva stay? For the same treatment? Why not go seek other fortunes. At least he will win more, earn more, if not Barca then Madrid .. If not Madrid then City.

It seems odd to have a young goalkeeper as third choice. Usually they're loaned out so they get to play more matches.

Why should Silva stay? because he's still too young to be treated like an ex-player and well, he wants to stay. I don't know why we're having this argument.

Inzaghi and Gattuso got the farewell they deserve as legends. both at the stadium and over the internet! I don't know what bad treatment/remembrance you're talking about.
