I may be stating the obvious, but it looks like on paper, that we wont be challenging for the scudetto. I'm gonna lower my expectations and hope we still can finish in the top 3.

Taiwo Out ---> Kolarov In
Silva Out ----> Ogbonna In
Ibra Out ----> Tevez/Dzeko In
Robinho Out ----> Destro In
Diarra/Strootman ---- In

I think we'll be ok. If Pato lives up to that potential everyone keeps talking about then we won't even miss Ibra one bit. We'll hurt losing Silva but if we make the proper signings in his place then we'll survive. This team still needs a leader other than Ambro. Losing MvB, Nesta, Gattuso etc in the locker room will hurt us more than anything else really.

We can't sign both Kolarov and Tevez/Dzeko cause we only have one non-EU spot left. Anyway, I agree with your choices, only that I'd replace Kolarov with Balzaretti and I'd choose Strootman over Diarra.

On the basis of what CHU-LIP has mentioned about him. And even if YouTube clips can be deceiving, they're a good source for a first impression.

For the millionth time, we can only afford one non-EU player, and I'd consume that spot for one between Tevez and Dzeko.

Juventus only has become stronger. I fear no one comes even close to them.

We should make few smart sigings to at least give us a chance. I'm worried we(management) overlook the midfield.

That's what I've been saying. Without Ibra, we need more brains.

Without Ibra, we need a proper trequartista.

As I've been saying since the end of the season, it's not so much a selling of players, it's the statement of intent from the Milan management. sleep.gif Even the idea of selling Silva sparked off a wave in the Euros, with Ibra and Cassano voicing their discontent. Now with Robinho and Boateng joining in, it'll just get worse.

The thing is most of these players are here to win, and the attitude they are seeing is anything but that.
Dracoris
If Milan want to keep these players then they will need to sit the team down and present them with their action plan to get this show back on track. I'm assuming that since we've decided to sell these players then Galliani already has a plan ready to get us back into shape. You've got to remember he is just as big of a fan as we are.

There is one name I can think of that could turn this ship around....Kaka...

I just saw the news scroll across the bottom of the screen while watching a USA basketball friendly. I want to puke and punch Silvio in the face at the same time.

I agree with your assessment that they need to sit the players down and explain their action plan. It's the only thing that will quell the calls to leave and the players deserve at least that much. I don't think Kaka is the answer though. Too expensive, too old, and not the player he once was. Don't get me wrong, I'd take Kaka over no new additions but i think if we are taking this course we should do it right. Get younger and find up and comers who are hungry for success and don't need 10m a season to be satisfied.
Dracoris
Agreed Kaka is not the answer for us to win tourneys but he would be a crowd pleaser for sure. I also think he still has something to give this team but he'd have to accept a wage cut.

I don't want a crowd pleaser. I want buys that display something at least approaching a rational plan of action for life post-Thiago/Ibra.

You know the management of the club have become incompetent when something like that happens. they're showing no ambition and will make Milan an upper mid-table club with their actions. of course your best players will be unhappy and threaten to leave. I bet we'll sign Destro and Astori and close the market. rolleyes.gif

News:

-Robinho has been transfer listed. We have told clubs that he's available at a good price.

-Aquilani's agent: "It's impossible for Aquilani to join Milan. Other clubs? I repeat: he will stay at Liverpool."

-Real Madrid have finalized the Modric deal. 45m euros in total.

-We are close to an agreement with Manchester City for Carlos Tevez. Our bid was sent in last night.

18m euros split into 2 payments.

Tevez will earn 5.5 m per season and sign a 4 year contract.

-Our silva replacement targets are the following:

Rolando
Dede
Astori
Burdisso

we have been linked with them all.

-Allegri has told Galliani that he wants a deep lying play maker as he plans to use montolivo in other areas. He wants the club to prioritize this ahead any other signings. We could potentially go for sahin.

Raiola:

"Ibrahimovic only goes after money? That’s total bullsh!t. It doesn’t work that way. It’s all about the transfer market."

"Watch the world’s most expensive paintings, like the Mona Lisa and The Scream."

"Some people just stand and look at the paintings, and look stupid, but PSG and Manchester City can afford to dream about the paintings."

"PSG have the possibility of making the dream of signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic come true."

"If the deal with PSG is done? In Italy you guys make up things. We are very far from reaching an agreement."

"We’re as close to reaching a deal with PSG, as USA is close to China."

"I will meet with Leonardo today, but actually I don’t even want to."

Curva Sud Milano spokesman (they are the Ultras or hooligans of AC Milan):

"Even if Ibra and Thiago Silva are sold, there will not be protesting or demonstrations of any kind."

"In all these years, Galliani has demonstrated that he’s the best when it comes to the transfer market.

"Who was Thiago Silva before he joined Milan? And who brought him to Milan?"

"There’s still a month and a half left of this transfer window. We will wait before we make any judgments."

"When the transfer window is closed, then we will draw our conclusions."

"At this moment, don’t expect us to make any demonstrations for Thiago Silva and Ibra."

"This way the club, especially Galliani, can work in a calm manner."

"In the end, we have rarely been disappointed - both in terms of new signings and in terms of victories."

Since maldini incident we should not care at all abt curva sud. And does dede has eu passport??
Jack Sparrow
I would prefer Dede. He's rated higher than Silva was when we brought him in. The others are just cheap stop-gaps.

And call me a 'company-man' but at the moment I'm in agreement with the Curva Sud's views.

The ibra part of the deal might collapse as Ibra has told Raiola he doesn't really want to leave and if he has to he'll only leave for 15m euros per year. PSG have offered 9m.

-More details have come out regarding the Tevez deal. It will be a 1 year loan with an obligation to buy for somewhere around 18m euros paid over 2 years. Tevez will earn 5.5m per year. (similar to ibra deal)

-We have transfer listed the following players.

Mesbah
Taiwo
Strasser
Robinho

Mesbah and strasser will join torino on co-owns. Taiwo will join Benfica. Robinho has no offers yet.

The Curva Sud once again demonstrate what a bunch of clueless fools they are. they actually think Galliani "discovered" Silva from "nowhere" where in fact he was rated as Brazilian league's best defender.

And anyone who thinks Dede will aribve and become the next Silva should think again. Dede will neither have 6 months to train with the team and get to know everyone in a calm surrounding nor will he have Nesta beside him to cover his mistakes, give him confidence and help him become a better defender. what happened with Silva was a unique situation and won't happen again anytime soon, IMO.

OK, why is everyone speaking with such certainty that Ibra and Silva are gone anyway?

Berlu says he's sold them, Raiola says the deal is very far from completion and Ibra says he wants 15m instead of 9 (and who knows if PSG will agree to such an astronomical wage demand?). this is all very fucked up and no one seems to know what's going to happen.

A deal could fall through again... just sayin'.
han2503
Well at this point, if the unbelievably stupid move for Ibra and Thiago goes through, from the choices you put in blue, I'd go for

Tevez
Ogbonna
Sahin

Still, it just does not make up for the loss of 2 players who were basically the sole reason for our success last season (maybe not success but the reason we hung on for as long as we did on one foot)

I agree to an exent there. This entire thing with PSG just screams "fishy" to me. The connection Milan have with Carlo and Leonardo at that club just opens up the door for B & G to play their media games.

I could see this falling through again, Ibra certainly does not seem like the type who'd want to go to the French league, his ego does not permit it, even if more money is involved
Rossoneri7
I see the situation in a different way, it is for the future of Milan. We like to think of the short-run, while these guys have been at it for so long, they have seen all the highs and lows, they have the benefit of the doubt in my books. Not cause they cant do no wrong, but because they have more experience than any of us

On March 4th 2008, Berlusconi declared that he wanted Milan to be operated just like Arsenal. The only top-flight club that has a healthy financial situation. This ‘Arsenal’ model is the target B&G (in addition to Milan board members), and the strategy to achieve that is to rebuilding Milan to be more efficient.

Zlatan and Silva were offered higher salaries by PSG than what they currently earn, hence why is it B&G’s fault? If anything, they made the most out of it – 65MM is not a joke, especially in our clubs situation.

We cant make sense of it all till Aug 31 … Moreover, we cant afford what Silva and Zlatan are worth post the offer (had we refused the offer, we’d have to increase their wages to the new threshold).

A sound judgment for the long-term, for the future of this club to start off under the FFP and start earning a profit. Which inevitably would make Milan one of the first clubs to achieve such a feat. Zlatan will be 31 and Silva 29, in the coming season. We have lost more influential players in Maldini, Shevchenko, Kaka, in recent years and we were still regarded as a top club, not a joke.

Merda sold Etoo to Russia, for astronomical economic situations. Ronaldo left United for Madrid. The problem here is not the club, it is the significant offer that changes everything.

News:

-Manchester City have accepted our offer for Dzeko.

It is 20 million paid over 2 years.

No news on tevez yet or maybe we've decided to go with Dzeko instead.

-Rafael (santos goalkeeper 21 yrs) agent has landed in Milan to discuss terms with Galliani. We have proposed a swap of Robinho for Rafael and Santos have accepted.

Rafael has his euro pass.

-Mino Raiola and Leonardo have started their meeting. We should know in an hour or two what will happen.

Ibra wants 12m euros a year +3m in bonuses while PSG wants to only give him 9m.

Silva will be 29 in September 2013, that's not this coming season. and what's your point anyway? he's a defender, he could at least play until 34 at the highest level. that's at least 6 more seasons. you just can't justify his sale like that, that's he's old and we're building for the future.
