yup but every year we have 60-70 m losses which are covered by finnavest.. So who would invest in a company no matter how big it is if it makes a loss year in year out and to be honest currently cannot compete with top european clubs. Also the situation in which Serie A is it makes it slightly less attractive for investors IMO

I am aware of this, and I've said it before, there is massive untapped potential still for Milan. unsure.gif Better than all Italian clubs. In China, Far East and the Middle East. I recall how everyone here was saying we should sign that Japanese midfielder (Honda), I read even Adidas was pushing for the deal.

You bring a guy like him here and you directly tap markets in the Far East. And I know how big of a following Milan has in the Gulf countries, in fact, most of the Middle East. With a passive attitude, we are just going to run around in circles. Sale of Silva is not the end of the world, it never is, but it will be a massive setback nevertheless.

And frankly my accounting is nothing special, but I sure would love to (or love someone else to) crunch the numbers. How come we are earning Top 5 level of coins in club football, but still end up with losses? mad.gif Wage bill I know. Slash it down then. Just have a couple of stars, cut the rest down to size.

But nevertheless it would sure be great if an independent and accurate audit is done of all our finances and dealings in the last decade at least. We balance the books with Sheva, we balance the books with Kaka, now we balance the books with Silva and/or Ibra. The books sure do seem like they are begging for a review.

And if someone filthy rich wants to take over and invest a billion or half, then let him. Forget sentimentality if you have to, build your own stadium (even if it is a cheapo for a couple of hundred million) or buy out the San Siro and renovate. More importantly, have a direction. smile.gif If you are in the Top 5 biggest revenue clubs in the world, and still suffering losses, then the top most guys need to have their heads checked.

Do what's necessary, but at least have an (upwards) direction and follow it. I'd be happy with 1m per year players like as long as they give their all, surrounded by one or two stars, than old dinosaurs costing the club 6 or 8 million year in and year out. The family thing should still continue, but it ought to be a two-way street from now on.

Revenge? huh.gif Considering how much Maldini used to defend these corrupt creatures all these years. He always used to accept the management in their decisions and policies, so much so that it irked the Curva basturds to no end. We have only one captain? But they do seem to have a hundred fathers.

Not a word from the baldie about how the Curva treated Paolo in his last home match. He got a million times better response at Fiorentina in his last Serie A match the next week. sad.gif And like I said, not a word, I'd probably have banned the freaks for the season for doing such a despicable thing. But hey, banning means saying goodbye to the season tickets and we all know how much Berlusconi loves moolah, and how much Galliani is strapped for cash.

Having said that, what surprises me is that you consider this revenge (an honorable one, albeit) against B&G, when in fact, it is not a revenge at all. He was practically begging and complaining in the media that the management has sidelined him (well Galliani mostly). mellow.gif I've read everything Paolo has said since he's retired. And worse yet, you think what Pirlo is spewing and doing against us is okay. But a man who wants an opportunity to train young defenders in improving their game is wrong. The only reason Paolo is at PSG is the combo of B&G.

Berlusconi and Galliani should be beaten to within an inch of their lives for this ... then an inch more.

Yes, I do see it as a small, personal revenge towards the management. You explained the reasons perfectly. Why else would he try to convince Silva to leave the club he so much loved and fought for during his entire career. It just doesn't add up. If anything, he should have convinced him to stay, not leave. And it's not like Paolo has any managerial role at PSG. Not that we know. Leonardo probably asked him that as a favor.

Mediaset has dedicated an article to Dedè, 24 years old CB of Vasco de Gama, which our management have chosen as Silva's replacement. He costs €12 million, and is considered the strongest defender in Brazil at the moment.

Even if we brought Pique or Ramos to replace Silva, it would not make me any less sadder, let alone this guy. Damn it! Sell Ibra, not Thiago. sad.gif

Ruiu: "Only 15-20% of the money earned will be reinvested into signing new players. The difference will go to balancing the debts. It could be possible that Berlusconi's intentions might be to sell the club, in which case investors would never be attracted to a company that has losses. Hence the reason behind Silva's sale".

Link

Just sell the club to some sheikh and let's get it over with. The situation has become unbearable.

Do you know any football clubs that make revenue anyway? It was always something to do with prestige and "putting your name out there" kinda thing.Another thing, our wage bill has been cut majorly this year...

Okay, that's your opinion and I respect that. smile.gif Even though I don't see myself agreeing with it in its entirety any time soon. By this logic any individual that leaves us (on a bitter, or even sour note) and joins somewhere else could be doing it for personal revenge.

Paolo stayed in Milan for 2-3 years, and if the management was serious they'd have tied him with a small/large role within the team. At the very least he can fix and elevate our defense to a much higher level. Instead the bald one plans on giving nothing players (in terms of transferring their experience to the younger generation) like Inzaghi and Gattuso roles within the club. mad.gif angry.gif realmad.gif Seedorf and Nesta I can understand, but neither Inzaghi nor Gattuso are good communicators or extremely talented when it comes to coaching. They've had different strengths in their playing days, that does not necessarily translate to being good or technical coaches.

As for the last part of your comment, yeah could very well be. Then there's also Carlo Ancelotti there.

If this was the beginning of the end of Berlu's era and as soon as the books were balanced the club was sold to rich Russians or Arabs or better yet, Italians, I wouldn't complain. we might as well become a Man City/PSG ourselves. at least we have a rich history to justify buying our way into success unlike those small wannabes.

Well said.

I quite like how quick Galliani is when it comes to selling players. laugh.gif The transfer window isn't even open and he's on foot. And when it comes to buying them, we usually wait and wait and wait till the end of August. Meaning they are not integrated to the team at the start of the season, and we end up dropping valuable points at the start.

There are reports Thiago Silva is in Paris to complete his PSG transfer and the Milan man assures “money is not an issue for me.”

The Brazilian defender had been told only last week that he was “not for sale,” but today Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani was spotted in Paris.

“It is not final. I am here just to talk,” said Galliani before a meeting with PSG director general Leonardo.

There are now reports that Thiago Silva has been seen in Paris too, as France Football claims he is in a hotel near the Champs-Elysees with his representatives.

The deal would be worth €42m plus another €5m in bonuses, added to a contract worth €12m per season.

“I don’t think about money, as that is not an issue for me,” Thiago Silva told magazine Chi.

“My strength is my family and above all God. I am a devoted Christian and also have a tattoo on my arm confirming I am a son of the Lord.

“In our Brazilian team we have in my view one of the top three strikers in the world, Alexandre Pato. I only hope he rediscovers his fitness.

“I send a sincere wish of good luck to the Italy side and my part-Italian, part-Brazilian, part-crazy friend Antonino Cassaninho. He’s a phenomenon.”

Cassano spoke in a Press conference today at Euro 2012 and said it would be “a crime” for Milan to sell Thiago Silva.

This is getting ridiculous, and really smells of the Kaka to City thing. I'll wait it out.

The players themselves and the fans are already up in arms about this, Silvio and Galliani will be shooting themselves in the foot if they sell Thiago. The repercussions of this deal could be huge imo.
Dracoris
IMO no amount of money is going to be able repair the hole he will leave. I like the idea of signing Dede, I watched a few youtube videos and he looks very good but unfortunately he won't have the blessing of having Nesta tutor him for 2 or 3 years.

True, yet how can Milan afford to pay him 12MM annually, and on top of that, how can Milan refuse such an offer?

I remember Shevchenko's moved caused a lot of raised eyebrows. I'm sure Shevchenko would have stayed had Milan matched Chelsea's offer. We simply couldn't, same was the case for Kaka. Heck even Pirlo, we couldn't match the tenor of the contract. It's the policy of the club I guess.

Or I'll try to play this senario; the whole Silva-to-PSG ordeal, it might be an attempt by Galliani to persuade other bidders at a price of 50MM or above. Maybe Barcelona? Or ... Juventus? innocent.gif

Bottoms-up, I truly believe no player should be worth such an amount. Van Basten, the best striker in all of the universe at the time, and one stupid tackle, and his value as a player was reduced to zilch. Now Silva comes along at 10MM only two years ago, and now is being asked for at 50MM? Seriously, he is two years away from 30, we'd be lucky if valued at 20MM by that time. And yet that reported 12MM salary is convincing enough, we can't pay that kind of money. And I'm sure Thiago Silva is the one to agree or decline PSG's offer.

QUOTE
On 12 June 2012 it was reported that the vice-president of Milan Adriano Galliani was attending a meeting with Paris Saint-Germain F.C. sporting director Leonardo Araújo but it was latter that day when A.C. Milan President Silvio Berlusconi announced that Thiago Silva (footballer) will be joining PSG in a €48 million + €5 million bonus transfer. Making this fee the highest amount , a team had ever paid for a defender.

Party time for the boys, all Montolivio, Aquilani and Muntari esque players welcome to Milan 96.gif
Bluesummers
This is almost done and the main reason behind it is wages.

Ibra earns 9m a year. The second highest is T. Silva who earns 4.5m.

This scenario just isn't right. You can't have a player of Silva's quality earning half the wage of someone with equal or some would say lesser quality.

---

50m for the transfer is good for us in the sense that we'll be able to pay off the majority of our debt with that.

Its a shame that he'll be gone but under berlu at this moment we have no other choice. Either we keep what we got and continue down the same road and pile up debt and get hit much harder later on; or take a gamble and re structure our team on a more realistic financial approach and endure long term.

---

Other transfers I see happening:

Ibra will most likely be sold as his wage hinders us far too much.

Cassano/Pato/Robinho one of the following could potentially be also sold.

First who cares about his worth? He could have become a club legend at Milan.Or is it a hard concept to grasp. He could have easily played 6-8 years on the top...of course I can't predict anything...he can be injured..and his value would be reduced to 0 or whatever...those things happens, football is full of risks. How can he refuse 12MM?He said in his interview that money is not what it's important for him...now I choose to believe. He seems like a modest, hard working and honest individual. The club's policy is just to cash in on invsements,so are you perfectly content with us not having any aspirations any more?I don't understand.Yay,more average players, weee pee doo.

Its not so much our state that will effect it, it will more of a domino effect.

usually when you sell a key player in your squad, it causes a negative effect in the dressing room and players become upset/uneasy etc etc..

Clubs usually address this by saying "look we've lost an important player but we will be replacing him with one of equal quality or better." This lifts the dressing and room and makes players want to continue with the club.

---

In our case its more were selling players to balance the books and we will not be bringing in any quality players. This screams out sinking ship in which most players, especially mercenaries like ibra will look to abandon ship sooner than later.

“I want to play well at Euro 2012, then I’ll see if I will stay at Milan or not. I have an idea about this, but I’ll only talk to some people. I’ve not heard from Ibra for a month, but if he gets angry about Thiago Silva being sold, then he’s absolutely right. It'd be criminal.

“Without Thiago Silva, at most we’d qualify for the Champions League. Besides, people should be clear with the fans. He is irreplaceable and without him we lose 50 per cent of the team. The club might consider the money coming in, but we ought to be clear.”
