I'm sick of saying it..
Because the goal was not given we had to attack. Because we had to attack we left space. Because we left space they scored goals.
It really is very straight forward.
I do thunk we'll get the 2018 WC now, we're the only country that seemingly has any fans at a WC.
If you base it by fans, then we'd get it.

Wait, doesn't the rule say there has to be one opponent between the player and the goal line? There was no player between him and the goal line.

Wait, doesn't the rule say there has to be one opponent between the player and the goal line? There was no player between him and the goal line.
The offside rule is like this:
G X* X A X = onside
G X* A X X = offside
G = goal line
A = attacking team player
X = defending team player
*is mostly the goalkeeper but it doesn't matter if a X is a goalkeeper or a field player
....So there need to be at least two X's between the G and A
Dracoris
Jun 27 2010, 08:17 PM
Yes, I know that, but this play went like this:

That must be one of the worst calls ever in a world cup. Seriously, the guy was like two meters offside.
I'm not a big defender of using cameras in matches, but I'm starting to see everybody's point. This is just unacceptable.

Horrible decision cost us the game again. As the United fans say "Im having a party when Blatter dies".
We can't keep complaining about the disallowed goal! Yes it was a travesty and perhaps things
might have been different, but we had almost an hour to equalise. Thing is we have not looked good at all in this world cup and TBH didn't deserve to go through. Germany were by far the better team and showed it today.
BTW when Germany beat Australia 4-0 people were quick to say "Australia are a poor side"...

germany's first 2 goals looked very similar to 2 of the chances the US had vs. Ghana. difference was...Germany's went in.
US has to do a better job finding some class strikers before 2014. or hope the ones they have greatly improve.

I think he's done well, and he had what can be considered a successful four years, but I am ready to see what someone else can bring to the table. Mainly Jurgen Klinsmann who was reported to have expressed interest 4 years ago when the job was open.
