Agreed.

A note on the Arsenal game today, just watched the re-run. Jack Wilshire was superb, he certainly fits the Arsenal style of play.

I only watched the goals and some highlights. I heard he was very good at their previous game against Atletico Madrid too. Surprisingly, Wenger did not give him many chances last season.

I think the issue with players at his age is that while they may have the ability to play in the league, they haven't got the body. He's not long turned 17 and his body hasn't stopped growing, injuries would shorten his career. Brian Little played for Villa decades ago at 17, he had a few early injuries and ended up retiring at 26.

Looks a very talented player, can only be good news for England.

well done villa! I'm happy they won, ciro can suck a fat one devil.gif I hope inter lose the rest of their freindlies too biggrin.gif

Our reserves beat Juve, you watch our first XI lose to Fiorentina next weekend. rolleyes.gif

Very much looking forward to it, first game at VP since relegating Delusion FC.

Don't forget, we're talking Arsenal here. No matter what Wenger does, it's BAAAAD for the national team.

Delph Fee Agreed

Aston Villa can confirm that a fee has been agreed with Leeds United for Fabian Delph.

The 19-year-old has made 53 appearances for the Elland Road side as well as representing England at under-19 and under-21 levels.

A Leeds United spokesman said the Yorkshire club: "Wishes to place on record our appreciation for the honourable manner in which Aston Villa has conducted their interest in the player.

"Leeds has resisted approaches from other FA Premier League clubs since agreeing terms with Aston Villa."

Aston Villa has been given permission to speak with the player and further updates will be announced on www.avfc.co.uk as appropriate.

I don't know too much about this kid, but I've heard alot about him this season. I think the fact that he's a 19 year old playing in League 1, but has a £6m price tag says alot about him. Hopefully he's good enough to cut it at the top level. Also interested that since accepting our bid they've turned down other approaches. Maybe have a good reputation does still count for something in football.

It seems that Portsmouth are in big financial trouble. The takeover by Sulaiman Al Fahim may not materialise which means they'll need to sell most of their players. Though Fahim not being involved with an EPL club is a good thing, he was the prick that was involved in the City takeover sayin they're going to buy Ronaldo, Torres, etc.

Bournmouth, West Ham, Southampton. 3 clubs Redknapp went to, financially destroyed, then ended up getting relagted. Pompey look to be next on Redknapps reign of terror.

"If you can't beat them, join them.. then spend all their money, relegate them, then leave them" This must be Redknapps motto.

No. There's bad blood between Villa and Redknapp. He's an idiot, he tried to annoy our fans saying "I enjoy coming to Villa Park, I've had quite a few succesful attempts here".. he's won twice in about 15 games against us. What an idiot. rolleyes.gif

Oh come on man this is just the exception to the rule, it cannot be denied that Wenger is not the biggest England helper. But why should he be anyway, he is doing (or at least used to do) his job perfectly.

Are you in love with him? Are you in love with that pedophile!??!

*Senderos is going to Everton according to a few sources, one being the Swiss FA.
*Rumour is that Lescott has handed in transfer request as he wants to move to Man City. Everton fans labeling Man City classless and whatever else.. they do realise Man City have loaned them an £18m striker, for free, for another season right?
*Liverpool have reached a deal with Madrid for Alonso. I don't rate him too highly, but it's hilarious how this has played ot after last summer.

kurtis what makes delusion fc so deluded then i d like to know the fact that theyre stadium is 60,000 odd or that they have some of the most passionate fans in the world in contrast to at least the villans who think they are so high up there after just one good season smile.gif

Well, you asked for it..

QUOTE
*Villa have 15 teams within a 50 miles radius to compete with for fans. Newcastle have 3. In theory, Newcastles attendances should be 5 times higher than Villas, they aren't. We also hold the record for highest average attendances in the Third Division (30,000), I bet Newcastle will barely get above that in the Second Division. So yeah, I'm sure with the 10 million people that live in the North East, they should be able to get a damn good amount of fans.

*Top 6 finishes in the EPL
Villa - 8
Newcastle 7

*Top 10 finishes in the EPL
Villa - 13
Newcastle - 8

*Relegations from the EPL
Villa - 0
Newcastle 1

These are heavily in our favour, but Ill be the first to admit that the EPL isn't everything. Let's see what history thinks.

*League titles
Villa - 7
Newcastle - 4

*FA Cups
Villa - 7
Newcastle - 6

*League Cup
Villa - 5
Newcastle - 0

*Champions of Europe
Villa - 1
Newcastle - 0

*Years since last major trophy
Villa - 13
Newcastle - 54

So you're "villans who think they are so high up there after just one good season smile.gif" comment doesn't really make sense in many ways. We finished 6th last season, just like the season before. So how is that 'one good season'? We are better now, in the EPL years and throughout history, then Newcastle. Just because Sky Sports is obsessed with them, doesn't mean they're a big club. They're not even the biggest clun in the North East.

So, to put it simply. They're not even in our league.. literally.

Tennie
But Kurt......SANTIAGO MUNOZ plays for Newcastle! I saw it in the movies! Surely that must give them cool points (even though Harchester would totally kick their ***). wink.gif
kurtsimonw
Yeah, Harchester were way better!

I'm by no means calling Villa a huge club, we're not, I'm not an idiot. But even compred to us Newcastle are nothing. Their fans just don't seem to get it, they may be passionate, but they know F all about football. "If we get relegated, it'll be like Liverpool going down next season". This is the sort of thing going around their forums towards the end of last season.. get over yourselves. laugh.gif

im glad i dont have to listen to the prem commentators ranting on about how exciting the premiership is _ and how its the best league in the world anymore _ andy gray jamie redknapp have lost there beloved c.ronaldo to spain

la liga is number 1 with prem being 2nd the talent in la liga is far superior now and it ll be shown on the pitch and also in europe mark my words
kurtsimonw
It aint gonna stop.

I'll also be shocked if all 4 English teams don't make the CL quater finals.

More talent in La Liga? I don't even think it's close. Yeah Madrid and Barca have the talent, they've always had better players than any of the EPL clubs. But only people with a 'big 4' mentality would say this. Teams like Spurs, Villa, Everton and Man City are far, far better than the 5-8 teams from Spain, in my opinion. We also have decent strength teams in our 2nd division now, I don't think any league is stronger in depth than England.

No i dont think so _ i think the likes of atletico, villareal and valencia would eat your spurs villa and everton alive

the talent these teams possess is beyond that of any of them teams u mentioned barring man city who can be classed as a big 4 team sooner or later with that attack

it should stop because now they have no basis for there argument there is no c.ronaldo he was the single reason why the prem was soo exciting

i hate all these scot commentators like graeme souness and andy gray who bad mouth serie a and cant admit to the fact that la liga will over take the prem and i believe with the constant arrivals of big names c.ronaldo kaka zlatan ibrahimovic alonso and the current names already there its easily the best

*Insert Epic Fail picture here*

I said, and I quote "Teams like Spurs, Villa, Everton and Man City are far, far better than the 5-8 teams from Spain, in my opinion." Atletico finished 4th, so they shouldn't even be compared with us, they should be with the CL teams.

Man City, Villa, Everton, Spurs > Valencia, Villarreal, Malaga, Deportivo.

You're also making the error that your opinion is fact. Ronaldo the single reason the EPL was exciting? That's an opinion, not a fact. And no Man City can't be considered a big 4 team, because there can only be 4 'big 4' teams, hence the number 4. That'd mean you'd be comparing Arsenal/Chelsea/United/Liverpool with a team like Valencia, which moves even further into our favour.

It's just a difference of opinion, we'll see. But it's funny how you think Newcastle are a big club - a Championship team - yet you think the Spanish League is better? Could you name me some 'big clubs' from the Spanish 2nd division?

QUOTE
Rafa Benitez believes Alberto Aquilani would be an exciting addition to his title-chasing squad.
Roma have given permission for Liverpool to discuss terms with the 25-year-old, who has yet to take a medical at Melwood.

In an exclusive interview with Liverpoolfc.tv, the boss revealed how Aquilani could fit into his side.

"Roma have allowed us to talk with him, so that's good and positive. He is a player with the quality we are looking for," said Benitez.

"He can play a little bit higher than Javier Mascherano - maybe between him and Steven Gerrard.

"He has good passing - the final ball is good - and he also works. If he can settle down properly in England he can be a very good addition.

"I think the signing should excite the fans. He won the U19 European Championship with his country, and U21 too. He has some trophies - including the Italian Cup.

"I always remember one game - England versus Italy U21s at Wembley, and he was man of the match in a 3-0 win."

laugh.gif

I love it when people I hate make awful mistakes like this. He could at least do his homework! The bolded part at the end, the game in question ended 3-3, not 3-0. Pazzini was MotM, not Aquilani. In fact, Aquilani didn't even play. God Rafa, you really are useless.

Spurs are signing Bassong from Newcastle.

Good player, but don't mind him going to Spurs. I like the way this club is run, they have the potential to be in Europe every year, but they refuse to learn from their mistakes. Bassong, Corluka, King, Woodgate and Dawson are all CBs.. what are they going to do when they're all fit? They also have about 5 first team full backs. Ridiculous. laugh.gif
