Sir Bobby Charlton has given Cristiano Ronaldo the greatest compliment imaginable: by declaring him better than George Best.

In an interview published in the new edition of FourFourTwo magazine, Sir Bobby, a former team-mate of Best and now a director of Manchester United said: “George had the ability to turn people inside out and beat anyone he liked. He was as good as anyone you will see, he used to embarrass players time and time again.

“It was paradise watching George play football, just like it is with Ronaldo now... the only difference is that Ronaldo is probably stronger and faster.”

Yes they all were on their bad day today. but superstars are meant to make the differences on these occasions. shining when your whole teammates are doing great is much easier. winning the games single handedly when your teammates are playing like crap is something I'm still not convinced Ronaldo is capable of.

And in the big games he is not better than the greatest players of this era; Kaka, Messi, Xavi, Ibra, Casillas, ... but he is still 23... I don't remember Zidane being better at this age and he is the best player I've ever seen!
