I can't vouch for others, but I'm the first to accept that he's the best in the world at the moment. innocent.gif That's taking his last season as a benchmark.

Even if CR scored 42 more goals this season, that won't change things as how they are now. He was the best last season, and he may be this one too,

Thank you cool.gif

I'm not saying he's going to be the best this season but like you say last, yes he was.

I'm sorry but you must be ignorant if haven't heard or read about the prem being the best!

And your other point just looks ignorant as I was talking about leagues and not necessarily clubs rolleyes.gif

I hear and read just as much as I do people saying Serie A is the best, or La Liga. In fact, on ehre, very few people think the EPL is the best, I believe we even had a poll, so it kinda does prove my point really.

I'm sorry but that doesn't make sense. Leagues are made up of clubs, so it's the same thing.

It seems that people believe what they want though. If somebody comes out saying Serie A is the best, they're 'right', if somebody says the same of the EPL, it's 'hype'.

You didn't quote my full post, particularly the arrogant prink part. tongue.gif Anyhoo I guess it boils down to what one's definition of the best is. For some it's one good/great season at the top, while for someone like me it's on a continued period. The overrated part comes into play in between this. For some Pele is overrated, for all he's done, so it won't stop the world from spinning, I guess.

Kurt, I think it's largely a matter of personal preference when it comes down to which league one thinks is the 'best'. It's a subjective thing.

Oh dear, Adebayor scored a hat-trick. The World must surely be ending soon.

And the biggest club in World football has lost 2-1 at home to Hull.

Full time results:
Blackburn 0 - 4 Arsenal
Fulham 2 - 1 Bolton

How did I... when did I... fvck! I forgot to watch Liverpool-Man U!

Well, well... I see... no Ronaldo, no Man U. first the Zenit humiliation and now defeat to Liverpool. well done to Liverpool, the only side in England I always liked (except for... that Turkish night). it's obvious there's not much motivation left in Man U players and not having Ronaldo just worsens things... I see Chelsea and Liverpool fighting it out for the title.

I dunno, you look at the Italian champions and they have very few Italians. United and Chelsea have a very English spine to their team, and they're arguably the best two teams in Europe right now. Even our 2nd tier teams like Villa, Everton and West ham are very English.

prem - 63% foreign players

Bundesliga 51% foreign players

La Liga 41% foreign players

Serie A 36% foreign players

The problem doesn't start there. Every media likes to (over) hype, it's their way of advertisement. Even the Spanish and Italian ones do this. It's not even called hyping up, it's called selling, pitching a product. The problem starts when people believe the hype. dry.gif Only Italian fans come out and think of Serie A as a tactical league. And? You're assuming that all these foreigners are any good. United have plenty of English, or at least British players that play often, and they're the Champions of England and Europe. While the best team in Italy has very few Italians. So you can twist it this way and say English players are good enough to be Champions of Europe, but Italians aren't good enough to win your own league.

But to me how many home grown players United and Inter have isn't that important, Villa are very English and we've done well with our team the way it is.

That's can be skewed one way or another very easily, you know that.

It's a pretty unfair comparison though. I mean Messi was out injured for many weeks. besides he's not a 'goalscorer' type player.

As for who will win the individual titles, I think, there shouldn't even be any debates. it's clear they're Ronaldo's. even I, who rate Messi pretty much higher, admit that.

Tennie, there's a difference between the way you and others respond to this arguement though. You are just putting your opinion accross and say you don't like the EPL, that's fine. Many other people just go on about how crap the league is.

The ironic thing is alot of people on here go on about how crap the EPL is, then go on and say it's got loads of foreign players. So they're basically saying all these foreigners are crap. rolleyes.gif
