I don't think that's fair to say.. this is a first time, actually, there isn't a first time yet since it hasn't even happened!
You misunderstood what I meant .. The EPL is a very clear target for investors. It is so attractive, the media coverage is Worldwide (in comparison with other leagues and sports), the revenues are astronomical, the taxing system within the operations of the clubs involved in the EPL are rather decent, and the fact that Barclays back is the promoter they give club owners a hefty leverage, which is VERY attractive to any investor.
I have explained this point so many times and I wish you would look into it more .. As for there isn't a first time, the Glazzers bought United which was a team that already has a far reach in global marketing, Liverpool is one of Englands pride & joy, and Chelsea's marketing strategy reached here, the US, and East Asia like a typhoon in terms of media coverage and club merchandise. Then you have Arsenal, which you could get a free ticket for the game by flying Business class on Emirates Airlines. These promotions rarely, if not, never happens with the other leagues in Europe.
These Conglomerates and billionaires will continue to buy a stake in the EPL, more so for marketing and promoting the club and its products than anything else. This is not the first time, this is an ongoing system.
And Barklays isn't trying to trash the EPL, but to promote England and its football. Something which it has succeeded in thus far. And this coincidentally attracts the foreigners to travel to England and spend in England. If not then they could buy English products from right where they are

Which is very smart, as it always was a top class league !!
My personal dissatisfaction is because of the monetary system which the clubs exploit now, it, for me as a hardcore football fan, damages the image of the game in my eyes.
