Man U - Chelsea (and vice versa) is so overrated anyway. just like Milan - Juve, it rarely lives up to its hype.

One half passed and nothing noteworthy happened. I don't know; maybe I have a problem. I can't enjoy it.
Zed.D
Yeah. I should shut it sometimes biggrin.gif

I hope Inter eliminate them from the CL. just don't want to see them succeed.

I've got the game on. It's not quite as dreary as I half expected it to be. The almost-handbags between Ronaldo and Carvalho were interesting at least. smile.gif Fishdoll is hoping for a draw.

Yep

What was up with Ronaldo(?) unsure.gif taking that corner by himself, then protesting over it...

Hoping for a Chelsea win...

3-0, Berbatov.

The officiating in this game has been sickening. United would have won with 10 men, they didn't need 12!

Ah well, I suppose this means no title for Liverpool, what a shame. biggrin.gif

Holly Molly! Good thing I didn't watch this match. sad.gif

YES! Well done United, two more wins in the games you have not played and you'll be above them! GO GO GO!!! smile.gif

Ronaldo was utterly pathetic today.
Getting owned by Bosingwa, sitting on the ground so long that the ref went over and hauled him up and running straight into Mikel and incrediblyt getting a free-kick for it. Disgusting.

Yeah, 1 assist, was involved in the build up for the Rooney goal, scored a perfectly good goal. He played awful rolleyes.gif

Edit: After about 60mins!

United won 1-0, last minute winner from Berbatov.

Chelsea won 2-1, 88th minute equlaiser from Belleti and an injury time winner from Lampard.

Villa win 2-1 at Sunderland, with 10 men (A.Young sent off) Milner and Barry scorers.

Spurs are bottom of the league, Newcastle lost 3-0.. Brilliant. laugh.gif

I always knew Ashley Young was a vicious b-tard. tongue.gif Good riddance. Ban him for 7 games FA. Make him do 2000 hours of community service. On Sunday! devil.gif

Yeah, it's not bad I suppose. If it doesn't work out its only £3.5m. If anyone can make Heskey play well, it's O'Neill, he's the manager that turned him into an £11m player a while ago afterall.

I just don't like the idea of a former blue here, but they do have a habit of doing better for us than they did for them. biggrin.gif
kurtsimonw
It's a done deal at £3.5m. He has alot of work to do if he wants the fans on his side, but everybody deserves a chance.

Chelsea reveal that Carlo Cudicini has joined Spurs according to BBC.

Oo. And rumor in Italy is that they want Marco Storari as his replacement. (How many others remember a very young Carlo Cudicini as a Milan Primavera keeper? Think he appeared a few times for the regular team too).

Those with a longer memory will remember Carlo's father also playing for Milan. Carlo played twice for Milan in the CL but didn't play in the Serie A for Milan.
kurtsimonw
Good signing for Spurs, their current keepers are awful.

Martin Laursen has been ruled out for 2 months, while Freddie Bouma and John Carew are back in full training.
Tennie
It was a CL game (was it against a german team?) I remember a young Carlo in. Good to see him getting a chance at first team football, he's a good keeper.

Ohdear for Laursen. sad.gif That's unfortunate. But yay that Freddie is FINALLY back in training!

I'm surprised how poor Gomez has been! At PSV I thought he was one of the best around. Good luck to Cudicini though, he is too good to be backup IMO.

He's the typical Brazilian keeper imo, capable of making saves that just stun you but also capable of making some terrible mistakes that a rookie would avoid making

Agreed, way too good for a backup. Maybe he's just looking for one last big pay-day before he retires, I don't think he was an awful lot at Chelsea, and with the way Spurs overspend..

West Brom 0-5 Man U

Holly Molly, Kurt. ohmy.gif Enough is enough! Next time you tell me you finished 2nd, and by the end of the season, gulp, 1st? I think if you guys can make it through you'd do well to be kicked out of UEFA Cup, and concentrate on the league, while the other big clubs fight on both fronts.

huh.gif Gosh. Spurs won?!?!?

Two reasons why..

1) They were playing at home to bottom of the league Stoke, who had a few injuries/suspensions.
2) Gareth Bale didn't play. In EVERy league games he's appeared in for SPurs, they've failed to win (he's been there about 18 months!). laugh.gif

I don't think the UEFA Cup should be that much of a distraction for us. We had 5 first teamers not playing today (Martin Laursen, Freddie Bouma, Nigel Reo-Coker, Ashley Young and John Carew - 3 of which have major European experience) so we certainly have the squad to cope nowadays!

I think the best we can possibly hope for is 2nd, United are going to win the league comfortabley. Though in saying that I'm not overly confident we'll even finish 5th! Liverpool, Chelsea, United, Arsenal and Everton are all very good sides and can go on big streaks of winning games, damn them. dry.gif

Finish top 4 + win a trophy and MON becomes a legend, doing that with someone outside the big 4 is unthinkable nowadays!
Jack Sparrow
I think you're also discounting the effect Modric has had on Spurs. He's finally starting to give some return on investment. Big teams have lost to Stoke. I'd like Villa to do well. But I'd also like Everton to do well. So I'm in two minds there. I think I'll side with Everton, since they're the ones with less money.

Oh and this is from tribal, but I doubt they would forge quotes...

Wigan boss Bruce blasts Man City over Palacios role

Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce has blasted Manchester City over their role in the sale of Wilson Palacios to Tottenham.

Bruce is livid that City made an enquiry for Palacios last Friday week, just hours before the clubs faced each other in a Premier League game, which the Eastlands side won 1-0.

He claims Mark Hughes’ club had no intention of signing the midfielder but wanted to use him as a bargaining chip in the battle with Tottenham to land West Ham’s £12m Bellamy.

Bruce said: "Manchester City’s behaviour was disgusting. They had no intention of signing Palacios. They used the boy and this club as a weapon in a deal to get Craig Bellamy.

"If City had not come in before we played them he would have signed for us. He was wobbling about Spurs. But City never had any intention of signing Palacios and it unsettled him.

"The call came in, chief executive to chief executive, and it cost us the player. He wasn’t sure about going to London, he was on the verge of signing and we had even drawn up the papers.

"But when City came in it was a different ball game. They were throwing telephone figures about. We were told they would speak to us after our game but they had no intention of doing it.

"I think it was done between the clubs. I think it was agreed for Tottenham to pull out of the Bellamy deal and leave City with a clear run for him and Spurs would take Wilson.

"When I see their chief executive criticising AC Milan about Kaka I think he’s got a cheek after what he did here."

Well..what goes around, comes around biaatch! I mean this guy didn't even know which position Kaka was going to play. rolleyes.gif He didn't know how much he was going to pay Kaka in wages... rolleyes.gif And it's all our fault!

Robinho bailed over 'sex assault'
Manchester City forward Robinho has been arrested and bailed by police investigating an alleged sex assault.

The Brazilian international, 25, met police as part of a "criminal investigation" into the alleged attack at a nightclub in Leeds.

Robinho "strenuously denied any allegation of wrongdoing" and had been released on bail, his spokesman said.

West Yorkshire Police said a man had been arrested on Tuesday in connection with an alleged incident on 14 January.

Robinho's spokesman, Chris Nathaniel, said: "[Robinho] strenuously denies any allegation of wrongdoing or criminality and is happy to co-operate with the police if further required."

Robinho, whose full name is Robson de Souza, joined Manchester City from Spanish giants Real Madrid in September for £32.5m, making him Britain's most expensive player.

He has since scored 12 goals for his new club and become a favourite of City fans.

Chelsea had been favourites to land the Brazilian before City stepped in to hijack the deal on transfer deadline day last summer.

Just days later, Robinho scored in his debut game for City against Chelsea, although the Londoners ended the match with a 3-1 victory

He's been better in the AM role as he was on the left, I'd agree with that. But Modric isn't half the player that Jenas is, in my opinion. at least not in the Premier League. I can see Spurs signing a high profiled left winger in the summer, and Modric may lose his place a little OR they'll sell Jenas for big money.

Talking of Spurs, Palacios for £14m.. wtf!? blink.gif

Stoke are very impressive at home. Arsenal, Villa, Everton and Liverpool have all dropped points there.. but they're bottom of the league and crap away! Unfortunately for us they're a bit of a local derby. dry.gif

Great result for Villa, for for about the 4th game running, Arsenal have scored in the last 7 minutes or so to rescue some points or win them the game. Still, 5 points is now the gap, we MUST keep winning!

I saw the Wigan game. happy.gif And frankly, Locke, just think Arsenal didn't play an EPL Season 2008-09. I find them hard to believe, the string of results I've seen. And I thought if Manchester United could climb back, so could the Gunners.

In a way Arsenal's season has been awfully similar to Milan's. Change of coaches, anyone?

Lol, don't fret. tongue.gif I meant change of coaches as in new guys at the helm. The only place I see Carlo working great is either in Africa (with their pure football), or the Azurri NT. Because frankly he's not that great in the league (though being very decent in knockout tournaments). Then again, I think Carlo needs a bit of a rest. Maybe take a break from coaching for a little while, and then get back in with a fresh mindset.

Frankly, I think we should have let him go after Istanbul 2005. Or he should have left after Athens 2007.
