FACT. Even a couple of my merda friends agree with this. smile.gif Beside, since the city of Milan owns the San Siro, they don't even have a stadium to their name (like us they lease it every week). Anyhoo, it's Moratti's money, so who funking cares?

I'm pretty sure it's over that, Moratti has spent close to a Billion on players ever since he took over, that's the extent of it.

But in terms of this summer mercato they went 50m in the red, not all over, I was just mentioning this year's expenses, same goes for Fiorentina, who I understand that they need to have a stronger team for next season but spending this much in such a short time could ammount to them shooting themselves in the foot, They are not really a club that generates a lot of money in terms of sponsorship deals and merchandising. They could end up relegated because of bankruptcy like they already were in the past

Yup. Old news. sad.gif Last day of the season. August 31. And while our squad is still better (on paper) than merda's it's still not a good sign for us for them to sign a talented guy like him. Even if he's half of C. Ronaldo, that's not good. Him and Ibra.

Yeah. sad.gif What worries me more is that inter gets right back in the race for the title. Not that they were out of it, but having a player like him means they probably won't drop as many points against other teams. I'm sure we'll beat them twice in the derby this year, but if they don't lose points, it will be much harder catching up with them.

So in all probability our bid for the Scudetto takes a bit of a hit. Guys like Kaladze, Seedorf and Gattuso only make it bigger if they don't play to their potential. dry.gif We'll see what happens. But so far it's 1-0 to Mourinho.

we got dinho and they got quaresma so its fair i guess. It'll all come down to whose fit and who in the end is the better manager. Carlo anchovy or the special one.

The special one, I'm afraid. sad.gif At least the impression I got up till now. If we win the league, it'll again come down to our players. Like always. Carlo is a good manager, but sometimes seems awfully clueless against some teams.

Whether he can change the loser mentality of inter still remains to be seen. biggrin.gif The Special One? Fuggetaboutit. It'll take more than one special ones for the merda to get themselves a winning mentality. Juve has it a bit. Roma are scared of winning that's why they falter at the last step. So does inter. Both in the league and the CL.

The only reason they won the last two league titles was 1) because of Ibra, 2) because no one had the guts to challenge them. Roma doesn't count. Still getting Mourinho will do them more good than bad. dry.gif We should be ready!

Since the transfer window in England finished in a Sunday, they extended it to finish on midnight on Monday/today instead. Some stuff that's happened so far.
-Man City have agreed a takeover, they now have new owners. Good news, throw Shinawatra out of the country now please!
-Vedran Corluka has joined Spurs, along with Roman Pavlyuchenko.
-Xisco is joining Newcastle.

Man City have made a bid in "excess of £30m" for Spurs' Dimitar Berbatov! ohmy.gif

These new owners must have money! .. and their bid has been accepted. Fancy City beating United to Berbatov, hilarious! laugh.gif

HO-LY HELL! Berbatov is a world class signing. I'm sold on Man City. The players theyve been collecting the past two years have impressed me. Eriksson started it and Hughes is continuing it.

Man City's Transfer Window: Zabaleta, Wright Phillips, Kompany (why did THEY get him!?!), Ben Haim, Jo, Berba?!

for a club like City, these are all 5 star signings! SWP belongs there, Kompany and Jo are WC in a few years, Berba and Zabaleta practically already are..Ben Haim will be a solid addition..their transfer window has been as impressive as ours.

Theyve already got Micah Richards, Martin Petrov, and the future Internationals in Joe Hart, Stephen Ireland, Michael Johnson, and Gelson Fernandes (Swiss)...AND ELANO.

This team will challenge for honors in the next few years..

Espanyol needed cover since Zabaleta left..Liverpool is well covered there...but Finnan in Spain does seems wierd.

Corluka's loss does hurt City a lil..but they got Kompany and Ben Haim, so that eases the pain a lil bit.

Berbatov is having a medical at United, it's very unlikely he'll even get to talk to Man City - United will drag it out as long as possible.

Man City have a decent squad, but too many foreign players hurt them massively over winter last summer. Will they learn? We'll have to see. Jo is a terrible signing though, he'll be gone soon enough.

EDIT: The Berbatov thing is getting ugly. Spurs have said they have NOT given United permission to talk with Berbatov as they've not had a bid accepted yet, but Berbatov is currently having a medical at Man U! United should be deducted points, etc. if this is true. No doubt they'll get away with it though. dry.gif

Bronzetti: Milan Could Have Signed Ignashevich

Super agent and Milan transfer consultant Ernesto Bronzetti admits that the Rossoneri where close to signing Russian defender Sergey Ignashevich.

Carlo Ancelotti has been looking for a stopper all summer as cover and Ignashevich as well as a host of others were on his list.

However, the club failed to push the move through after coming so close to landing him.

“Milan were close to signing Ignashevich and they could have got him,” said Bronzetti.

The Via Turati based side opted to sign Andriy Shevchenko instead, that meant they used up the number of non EU players spaces hey had, meaning that Ignashevich could no longer arrive.

Sceptics have heckled Milan’s transfer policy as they needed a defender rather than a striker and they have come under heavy criticism for failing to bring in the cover where it was needed.

The club’s unwise spending in the transfer market seems to have cost them dearly as the defence crumbled against newly promoted Bologna on Sunday afternoon.

Milan lost 2-1 as their weak and aging defence couldn’t handle the Rossoblu.

Well...whatever...I read the article too, not too depressed. I saw his picture. He looks like he walked off 10 rounds toe-to-toe with Mike Tyson. puke.gif

LMAO @ Chelsea and their Robinho shirts. Talk of getting shot in the foot. Now I'm just thinking how all those Chelsea fans must be feeling in their forums. How they'd post every time, saying we'll buy this player and that player. biggrin.gif And suddenly in comes Man City, and the ground beneath their feet falls. biggrin.gif

Anybody got any choice comments?

Quite Impressive From the Abu Dahbi Company!
They Just Beated Chelsea To Robinho, Something Chelsea hasn't been very Familiar With Since The Roman Came In Charge.
Surely Manchester City did quite an Impressive work in the transfer Market, now it is time for the Players To Show thier Qualities.

Let's Say, At the End of the Transfer Market, I am not quite impressed with Milan's Transfer Campaign To Be Honest. We didn't get what We need, We Only Got Names.
Eventhough The Flamini Purchase was one of the best Milan has ever done, but others dont seem so Close!
Zambrotta Truly impressed my in His first Milan Match in Serie A, And Ronaldinho Left me in Awe.
However, I"ll Wait and See , And Give My Judgment after the Players are Settled In.

In My opinion, ManCity And Chelsea were one of the best in the Transfer Market.
Man utd, bough what they really wanted, regardless of the way they Aproached The Player.
Tottenham Did fine.
Inter Were Impressive.
Roma: I"ll give My judgment in the season.

Not quite sure where to put this - maybe it belongs in the joke thread - but there was a funny story in the Italian papers yesterday. Tiago was due to be shipped out of Juve but turned down offers from Everton and Monaco because he wanted to play in the CL. He got so mad about it that he locked Cobolli Gigli (the Juve equivalent of Galliani) in the men's room at the Juve training grounds. He was stuck in there for the better part of an hour before Del Piero happened to wander by.

Damn ... There are buzzes around about a Buffon to Milan by next season. I don't know how reliable this is, as it is too premature, if anything he is a future captain of Juve. But then again Nesta was not only captain, but an idol of Lazio, so what does that tell us tongue.gif

Our transfers were pretty decent, except for the ST, GK and Coach dep. I think we're going to do well in Serie A this season. I think Sheva shouldn't have been brought back, now we've got 4 strikers + R10 and Kaka which means 3 of them are going to sit on the bench and creates problems! Not to mention the Pato case, last year Galliani said he'll be a starter and now he's warming the bench, I'm pretty sure he'll end up like Gourcuff (who by the way is doing great for Bordeaux, surprise, surprise!!!) Borriello is a huge waste of money, next year (or in January) we'll sell him for peanuts since he's not going to play and score a lot (Carlo will trust Sheva instead of him even with a broken leg). Senderos is a good deal, he's experienced and could suit the Italian game very well, plus it's not a permanent deal so we can always dump him if he turns up the new Kala (oups sorry dst tongue.gif), shame our new defender is not Italian!

Um, it wouldn't surprise me because they have someone by the name of Alessio Secco in charge, and he can't even get Giovinco's contract renewed. The guy is an idiot... he'll probably sell Buffon to us no problem... I hope Secco stays in charge at Juve... he's a walking disaster.

I've been very pleased with our money, and I think we've been well covered in every department. Another defender would have been nice. I think Borriello is fine... and I think if anything he can prove himself. The problem we had in the past say with Gilardino is there was little competition (of course until Patinho came)...

I do agree with the quote above, morgoth except the Sanderos is good deal part dry.gif
And I do like many of you, never consider Sheva as Judas (whatsoever) but i think that he
shouldn't have been brought back too. Yup, im pretty sure, if the same pattern occurred and the history will
repeat itself, Pato will be our new Gourcuff. His confidence will greatly diminish, to the point that where
his skills would slowly vanish, let alone improving. sad.gif

Giancarlo
I think we value Pato too much for him to waste away... and Brazilians a critical part of our squad. Neither Ronaldinho nor Kaka would be happy if anything were to happen to Pato... Pato is really special... something that Gourcuff isn't and never was... yes Gourcuff was a solid player (and I hear he's doing fine in Bordeaux), BUT... Pato is out of this world.

Yeah, we values them. But be advised, the same Carlo did prefer a certain
Brazilian named Emerson rather than Pato on several occasion last season.
And with Sheva returning, which is already proven in Milan, what do u think

I doubt that Brazilian value will triumph Sheva value to be honest. cool.gif

I said it's a good deal because he came for free, we're maybe paying his wages but I doubt they are astronomical. I honestly think he CAN do well in Serie A but only time will tell ...
han2503
This whole Pato vs Sheva thing is useless to discuss.

I think Carlo will play the player who will score goals, and it could be either Pato, Sheva, Boriello or Pippo. He finally has options in the striker department something he hasn't had since Sheva left. So I think he'll go for the player that's in the best form during that time. We have plenty of games, no one will be left out, and Carlo has already said that he doesn't want to play Pato in every game because he's still young.
