The Milan management has agreed to sell Abbiati to Palermo. According to studionews.it .. Palermo have reach a basic agreement with Milan, the only obstacle is a fiscal one between Atletico Madrid and Milan. They will meet him his agent in the coming days to sort it out.

Gilardino - Fiorentina, official at the start of the week !!
Mediaset is reporting that the deal has been ironed out and that all parties have reached a common ground, only an official notice is what remains.
Gilardino will go to Fiorentina for 15M euro and will be on a 1.5M/season contract for the next five yrs. The bonuses on the contract are by the number of games that he plays and the number of goals that he scores. He will also get a sponsorship deal with Della Valli (@Tennie spell) .. Which ultimately would get him 2M/ season in total. This deal, is said to resemble the one Toni was on.

Yep, it seems that the Gila deal will probably be announced on Monday or Tuesday. I do wish him well with the Viola.
Two keepers are set to be sold very soon too. R7 mentioned the Abbiati-to-Palermo bit. In addition to that one, Cagliari want to buy Storari (he's currently on loan to them). The sale of these two (plus the unfortunate knee injury Coppola picked up a couple of days ago) should clear the way for the official purchase of a new keeper.

Good news is that we started early negotiations. That's a clear break with the tradition started 2-3 years ago. The early Flamini deal, Zambro negotiations, clearing the squad...all good news.

Zambrotta claims that he has a contract running till 2010 with Barca and that he is fine in Spain. He also confirms that there arte talks between Barca and Milan and if he was to weigh it up, he wants to return to Italy.
He also wishes Milan luck in getting the Scudetto next season, with or without him.
When he comes in .. ohh my oh my !! An all Italian back four !!
Oddo - Nesta - Maldini © - Zambrotta

They'd all need to improve though! Oddo had a very poor season, Maldini looks past his best, made alot of mistakes - notably in the big games (Inter & Juve) - Zambrotta was fairly poor at Barca.. Nesta was one of our better players last season, but still not up to his own standards.

Italian papers are claiming that Borriello is close to a return to the Rossoneri. In fact, it is only a mere detail that separates this junction; a 6M euro deal, which Milan will pay without any hesitation.
Then there is a new contract that awaits Borriello; 3M/season till 2013.

I didn't expect this. I thought we'd sell him/use him in a deal for another player.

One thing is a loan deal or a co-ownership. But to ship him off...hmh,..
Anyway the Croatian newspapers are suggesting that defender Dario Knezevic (Livorno) is up to a move. Apperently he's wanted by Lokomotiv (M), Milan and Chelsea.
Other news report that Marco Amelia is negotiating a Bayern move..

Well, as much as I wanna see our Primavera break into the first team squad. I also think, he should be given a chance to perform in Serie A. At Milan, he wont get a chance, he doesn't have a chance atm. Loaning him, co-ownership or selling him .. I believe the board know what's best when assessing these things. Who knows, maybe he would turn out to be as good as Broochi

Quick clarificaiton re: Di Gennaro. Mediaset's reporting that he'll be going to Genoa as part of the Borriello deal, but on LOAN only. In this case, I'm all for letting him hang with the Grifone for a year -- he's got a lot of talent (I actually saw him play last year) and he apparently didn't get a whole lot of time at Bologna - though he got consistently good marks when he did take the pitch (average somewhere around 6.5, which is very good for a sub).
Fillipo, what can you tell us about Knezevic?

In his debut for Croatia scored against Hong Kong. Also made a excellent match against Italy in our 2-1 win. He's 26 years old, but has not much international experience. He's aerial strong and makes excellent headers (frequently scores goals) and was overall one of Livorno's best players last season. His tackling is fair, but he could be more pacey. He's a good prospect and a classic CB backup. I'd rate him a bit below Å imić and over Kaladze.

Oliveira was a bad buy. He's good in La Liga but...not so much in Serie A. It happens sometimes.
Gilardino was a buy that also didn't work out -- on the face of things, it should have. He was immense for Parma, but I think the pressure of playing at a place like Milan got to him. As an Italian friend says, 'the jersey was too heavy for him'. Better for us (so we don't pay his wages and see him perform poorly) and better for him that he goes somewhere else.
Let's just hope that Borriello (assuming that one goes through and he's not just sold on to Napoli or something) doesn't turn out to be another Gila.

Surely a bad move before a new manager comes in?
I still think if this guy gets given the chance and gets played week-in, week-out he will score. He scored against Bolton what happens next Belletti gets preferred to him to take a penalty, yeah good confidence boost...

I don't particularly care if it's a bad move for Chelsea.

Insisting on a free is, I think, a GOOD move on the part of Milan.
