IMO we are one quality CB away from a great transfer market, the gapping hole in def is too big to ignore and not address.
if we sign ivanovic i will be extremely pleased with the mercato.
Well take solace in the fact when Braida is the one involved with a transfer it usually happens... so I think the news is definitely positive. And I agree with you. We need more cover in the back.

"Is probable that having good relationship with Chelsea, they are trading before with the London society: the boy are waiting novelty about his future, because want to play in a great club and not be a reserve, so surely a club like Milan would be appreciated"- has explained Borosan.
About the possible evaluation of the player, "The solution of the loan with right of ransom will be surely the most appreciated and realistic: I've read that someone write about 5 million offered by Juventus, surely is something ridiculous, because the player has been paid 12 millions in January".
"He is appreciated also by Juventus and Inter, but he want play: who will offer the best solution for his career, a place in line up, and good economical condition, having him still an important contract of 2,5 million every year, will sign him".

According to this mornings Gazzetta in Italy, AC Milan have been in discussions yesterday with Bratislav Ivanovic in London, and the Chelsea defender has asked his coach Felipe Scolari for permission to move to Italy.
They report that he has been told he will have to wait for a decision until Monday, when Peter Kenyon returns to Stamford Bridge.
Juventus have been linked with the Serbian defender for the last couple of months, but yesterday it was reported that AC Milan were interested in hijacking the deal, after their Italian defender Alessandro Nesta was injured in preseason, and their defence is looking very shaky.
Ivanovic still hasn't made his competitive debut for Chelsea since arriving in a €13million euro deal in January, and is desperate for some first-team football. Chelsea may be willing to take a loss on the deal, but Milan are expected to propose a one-year loan with an option to buy at the end of it.
So now Milan and Ivanovic have a nervous weekend ahead waiting to see if their proposal is accepted on Monday.

Mediaset seems rather enthusiastic about the idea. They're claiming that Ivanovic, via his agent, has let it be known his preferred destination is Milan. The issue, according to Mediaset, is one of money as they don't think Chelsea is going to let him go for peanuts. (

He always talks like that but he know better than anyone that we can't rely on Nesta with all these injuries he sustains. not getting a backup for him only worsens the situation as the chances of him staying healthy only decreases. hopefully Badly forgets the thoughts of Ambro in the center-back and sings a decent CB...

carlo HAS to say that. He has to have faith in the players that he has at his disposal. If he just goes out in the press demanding a new defender..the ones that are in the team could feel underappreciated/demoralized. What Carlo is doing is essentially avoiding the topic of a new defender, saying that HIS thoughts are on his players. I don't think these comments will change much..he's saying what he's got to. If the management presents him with a new defender, he will be welcomed. Alex Silva seems like an equally good option. maybe even less of a question mark to me..he's being groomed as the next NT center back for Brazil, and it would NOT hurt to have such a player. Plus, we do have room for another brazillian. We lost cafu and sergio and only signed dinho.

True.
Just a clarification. We have two Non-EU options each transfer season I believe. Ronaldinho has Spanish (EU) status thus he did not occupy one of those spots. I think Viudez and Cardacio too have Eu Status I think. We still have these spots open (even if we bought the goalkeeper Felipe from Santos meaning we would have one spot left)...
Alex Silva was well spoken of in that game against Belgium.

This is an update on the transfer situation:
Apparently Diogo Kotscho is up to his usual saying that Kaka wants to transfer to Chelsea. He said the same a year ago about Kaka wanting to transfer to Real Madrid. Not going to happen. The Observer reported that, and we know how credible they are.
Galliani has flown to London to discuss a loan deal for Ivanovic... and we shall know by Monday perhaps.

That was a long time ago. And nope...he's not really much of an oil merchant. Just very very good at making killer deals.
Oh btw, he's exiled from Russia is what I hear. A polite exile, as in it's not official. All his major controlling interests were purchased at a huge prices back by Putin (or intermediaries) and he was told to not come back. As of now he's free, but if he comes back, they're gonna do a Shinawatra to him.
I believe he stuck his nose a little too much into politics. So while Khodokovorsky (spell?) was put behind bars, Abramovich took the warning seriously and left.
Of course, this is again one of those 'secret intelligence leak' reports you can read on the web. So might be completely wrong.

Not to get too political, but Russia manages to kill everyone that opposes it... like that one journalist... who died of "mysterious circumstances".
Anyone who opposes Putin ends up in bad circumstances. The Ukraine Prime Minister is one example... somebody poisoned him... gee I wonder who...

Ivanovic arriverebbe comunque in prestito.

Gazzetta is reporting (as Filippo kindly relayed in the news thread) that Milan could close the deal for Ivanovic today. Galliani is flying to London to finalize details, most likely a loan-with-option to purchase. Even though Milan had declared the transfer market closed, they were obliged to reinforce the defense as a result of Nesta's injury. Ivanovic was also in Juve's sights for some months.

Not true. You can also pay a loan fee which is a certain amount to ensure that the owning club is tempted to loan the player out. And if loaned with a fee, the owner club cannot recall the loaned-out player for whatever reason.

Milan Enter Race For Freddie
According to reports in Italy, AC Milan have entered the race to sign former Arsenal midfielder Fredrik Ljungberg. The 31-year-old is currently a free agent after being released from his four year contract at West Ham last week.
Ljungberg struggled badly after signing for The Hammers from Arsenal last year, making 30 appearances, and scoring just four goals.
The East London outfit were keen to get the Swede’s reported £80,000 salary off their wage bill, and Ljungberg is now searching for a club ahead of the new season.
The midfielder is still admired in Italy following his outstanding nine years with Arsenal between 1998 and 2007, where he was instrumental in winning two Premier Leagues and three FA Cups.
Ljungberg is already a reported target for Lazio, but sources in Italy claim that Milan are also ready to offer the veteran a contract.
The Rossoneri are looking to sign an alternative in the attacking midfield role given the injury troubles to Kaka, and Ljungberg could be the man for the job.
The former Halmstads man, who has won 80 caps for Sweden, is said to be tempted by a move to Milan, given the fact that the city is known as one of the fashion center's of Europe. Ljungberg is a male model, and is known for his love of fashion.

Nah, I'd just send the fish doll. He's got a good stand-up act.

^^ The above article (and similar versions in other Italian outfits) quotes Ivanovic's agent as saying that negotiations are in an advanced stage, that Ivanovic has asked Chelsea to let him go and stated that he wants to go to Milan. The agent also states that there's a general agreement between Milan and Ivanovic (presumably about wages) and that the rumor about the loan-with-option is more or less accurate.
