[Short version: Stefano Colantuono has been fired as coach of Palermo and has been replaced by Davide Ballardini.]

Zamparini has stopped taking the happy pills early this season, it would seem.

Isn't this the 27th time Zamparini has sacked his club manager?

This is getting silly.

You have to get the player to agree to such terms and I highly doubt that Buffon would take the offer. Remember Ronaldinho's transfer? There was a bigger contract on the table from Man City, but Dinho turned it down.

Let me take an analogy... going from Juventus or Milan to Man City, would be like going from a CEO of a company to the janitor of that building. And it doesn't matter if they pay you more for the janitor job... it's still a massive downgrade.

LOL.

That makes a good point... they haven't bought any half decent defenders lol (and don't say Kompany because I think he's overrated rubbish)... and the defenders they have now were responsible for letting like 8 goals in one game lol...

Ronaldinho turned it down because City were going nowhere. Now they're are going somewhere.

Actually, their GK and DFs for that game where: Isaksson, Corluka, Jihai, Dunne & Ball. Isaksson, Jihai and Corluka no longer play there, while Dunne was sent off after 15 minutes (When it was 0-0). So only Michael Ball played that game, and he's now a backup player..

I don't think they are going anywhere. And I think that these new owners better watch what they say or they could get in trouble... and face perhaps a point deduction.

Ronaldinho I bet you would still turn down Man City even with its new owners.

Sure they can. Football is money. Look at Chelsea now. Look to what Berlusconi did to us in late-80's.

We'll see what happens but anything can happen.

Difference here is, that there is no class or history with Man City. I want them to fail. Sorry.

No they aren't going anywhere. Lack of class and history. The most they can get are mercenaries like Robinho... and when Man City fails to even qualify for the UEFA Cup... he'll be gone.

Their record is exactly the same as Chelsea's PRE-Abramovich.
Fillipo Simone
Chelsea (pre-Ambramovic): 1 league title, 2 FA Cups, 2 UEFA Cup Winners Cup

Manchester City: 2 league titles, 4 FA Cups, 1 UEFA Cup Winners Cup

Anyway, the resamblance of Ambramovic's take-over at Chelsea or whoever's at Man City and Berlusconi's at Milan is...like WWII and Cold War.. tongue.gif

Wow. Now we are comparing the new owner to Abra or Berlusconi? The guy has said some of the most clueless and classless things.

Anyways... this is the Serie A thread... and this talk about Man City should be in the Premier League thread.

thats exagerated. because chelsea 5 years ago had the same prestige level as man city right now, yet look at them now. they're in the top 5 clubs are far as attracting players. players arent dumb, they know city is going to spend and build a great squad, and challenge for trophies in the near future.

Respectfully disagreed. In fact I don't think it's that simple. I don't think players will move to City as some want to claim here, and I don't think City will be winning any trophies.

well if robinho is willing to move to city, i wouldnt say never. if juve accept a big, and tell buffon he can leavehe might want the new challenge.

Come on, we all know the most important thing for these brazilians is money, Buffon is a different sort of man, with different ambitions and standards.
Tennie
I think that if he were the sort to leave for money, Buffon would've done so in the summer of 2006. Instead, he spent a year playing in Serie B.

What Tennie said. if Buffon had any intention of leaving he would've have left Juve after the Calciopoli. I think there's less than 1% chance of Gigi leaving Juve for another club.

Unfortunately, class can also be a reason to leave. If he really respects Juve, and they get an unrefusable offer that will help them financially, it may be in Juve's interest for him to go. Then he may leave. But in my opinion, I don't think they'll be able to buy experienced regular starters at top clubs just yet.

I hope he stays at Juve. In a weird way, I'd be disappointed if he moved to Milan.

Palermo's coach Stefano Colantuono has been fired. Man I hate Zamparini.. he fires coaches at a whim then rehires them.
Habitant
it has nothing to do with intentions or money, if your club accepts a bid, why should you stay? their basically saying we dont need you, and the other club wants you more.
whoarethepatriots
Zamparini will probably rehire Colantuono in about 3 months time...

Theres a lot more issues at hand than comparing city to chelsea. Chelsea is in london , a bigger city with the capacity and ability to handle two huge teams and two regular teams. Manchester is different. Man u is undoubtely the world's biggest club right now and has the most fans, most sold tickets and argubaly one of the biggest budgets. This arab guy by coming into city and doing the Abra thing is going to cause havoc in manchester. I dont think city will experience the same level of benefits as chelsea did when the new owners came partly because of location and rivalry.

london has a million different clubs, while manchester which englands 3rd largest city has only two popular clubs. demography isnt going to play such a huge role, right now most players want the EPL even though englands weather is shit2. actually manchester and milan both have practically the same population, yet milan has AC and inter.

I was talking the big clubs in regards to london. And milan and manchester are much different because in milan there is only one stadium where the rivalry is huge but respect is kept in the way that both clubs get their share of worldclass talent. To many football player choosing inter and Ac milan isn't a staggering decision like it is to hardcore fans and italian fans.

In manchester it has always been MANU, and they always have to get the best etc etc... and now because of this arab guy things will get heated up. First robinho and now he's talking of signing ronaldo. The level of respect and acknowledgement isn't kept in that statement by the good doctor. Like we will never say we are going after Ibra he shouldn't be saying we are going after ronaldo.

Time will only tell whether or not manchester can handle a billionare arab.

dude your making pure assumptions here.as was mentioned by others for a long time they were considred the bigger club. even till this day, a huge amount of people in the city of manchester support citeh, it's about 50/50 witha slight edge to united. they have great support, one of the best attendance records in the prem, i believe it was the 3rd or 4th best.

[zebra alert] Good news for Juve. Giorgio Chiellini is apparently pretty much recovered from his injury. While he may not start for the Zebras against Udinese, he may well make the bench. He's almost certainly going to play the CL game midweek. [/zebra alert]
