Oh, and it was more out than in.

I'm sorry to disappoint you then cause it was not him... I'm watching the game via streaming and I mistook him for that other guy...

Gourcuff did, however, score one good goal in one of his first three matches in the French league. smile.gif So it's kind of a good start for the lad. That Gila goal was a screamer, though.

Back from a bit of a break and wow, Catania are doing better than I'd have suspected.

Balotelli is worse than Ronaldo. what a diver!!

He seems a bit lazy too. But it's maybe just the way he runs.

Still too young though.

I admit he's better than I always thought. but he dives/goes down a lot. I mean, he has the physique of a monster...

How do you pronounce Quaresma's name in Portuguese?)

Kuh-ah-RES(T)-mah.

BTW: He's off for Mancini. Standing ovation. Good debut.
Tennie
Hah, never mind on my poor guess on pronunciation!

I agree that it was a pretty good game by Quaresma.
Portman
Geez. That Ibra miss there... Good play by Mancini.
Zed.D
What a miss by Zlatan!
Portman
Maicon... yellow for protesting. It's just funny to see how Maicon protests LOL.
Tennie
Maicon IS a bit whiny today isn't he? Then again, the Catania defense is proving remarkably stubborn.
Portman
What a save by Bizarri. Almost Zlatan again.
Zed.D
Zlatan almost.

(Thanks Porty)
Tennie
Not sure anyone else noticed, but in the merda curva there are a couple of big 'thank you Zenga' banners. He was a good player for them in times past and it's nice to see the merda fans remembering that. Well done to them for that.

He's almost scary!
Tennie
Gosh. Catania aren't giving up. A couple of half chances there that could have gone in.

(btw, Gazzetta is crediting both of the merda goals as Catania own goals. is that accurate?)
Zed.D
FT. 3 points for Inter.

The armband on Mate's arm was the funniest thing tonight.
Portman
FT Inter 2-1 Catania

Deserved win.
Tennie
Credit to Catania for not giving up. They did a lot better than I'd have suspected.

FT merda 2 - 1 Catania.

I would give Quaresma credit for the 1st goal as his cross was heading to the goal (doesn't matter if it was a cross). the 2nd was definitely OG.

First goal was Quaresma. Though it was deflected.

I mean the Quaresma pronounce in Italian is Quarizma
Tennie
Oddly, that's one thing Fox Soccer gets right - they never mess up on Portuguese names. But one of the news readers is the son of Portuguese immigrants so he makes sure those names at least aren't messed up.

(Don't ask them to pronounce Italian names right though. That's a little too hard for them).

Matrix might have some fans here... so I'll post this pic. I think it's a great one:

Well we do have one in Kurt. rolleyes.gif And, and? Yeah, that's about it. Great pic though, even with the armband and such. You should have posted a couple of Maicon as well, while he was complaining and whining in the second half, Port. Funny, funny that.

Humm... nothing about Maicon. Just this one:

About Inter, their gipsy, new magician, and fan favourite:

Do you think Qua's arrival will create trouble with Zlatan? From what I saw today he seemed a bit lost. unsure.gif Gave away the ball to the opponent's feet more than twice, missed easy chances, and was more often than not running around like a headless chicken. I vividly recall one back pass by Quaresma in the second half, all the way to Ibra, and he made a mess of it after he started doing stepovers.

That's not the Ibra I know, and maybe he's feeling the pressure of new guys, Manchini in general and Quaresma in particular? Who knows.

I don't particularly like the blue socks. puke.gif Makes them come out of the closet, and proves that they're gay. Black would have worked better with this design, in my opinion.

Zlatan is still adapting to the 4-3-3. He played the last 4 years in a 4-4-2 or 4-3-1-2.

He had a average game. Could have scored but did OK. Always had 2 or 3 players marking him.

That could be the reason, yeah. unsure.gif Remains to be seen how he adepts with the new system (and the new coach). Even if it ever came to him leaving, I don't think we'd be interested. Super player he is, but he needs his space in the squad.
kurtsimonw
Goota say that Quaresma impressed me, I've not seen too much of him before besides a few Porto CL games and some for Portugal. He worked pretty hadr, as did the whole Inter team to be fair to them, his movement was excellent and he seems to have an understanding with most of the Inter players already, looks good.

I agree with the kit too, very nice.

MotM was Matrix, the way he walked around the pitch was 2nd to none. I particularly thought his walk into the changing rooms at half time was superb, nobody came close.

I personally think Man of the Match was the Catania keeper. He let in a couple, but saved a bunch of vital ones as well, otherwise it could have been a 4, 5 goal massacre. wink.gif At the very least he kept his side in the game at half time going into the dressing room.
kurtsimonw
I was taking the piss anyway, but overall the Catania keeper, Bizzari (Is he the same one that was at Madrid?), was probably the best player. I thought Viera had a good game too.
