Can't wait till their 50th year since winning the CL... of course when they won it was called the European Cup and LBJ was in office. They've been waiting longer than England waiting for another world cup lol.

Ancelotti: "Abiatti is the first team Gkeeper, and I will play with a 4-3-3"
Carlo Ancelotti spoke to Corriere dello Sport today, he spoke about his plans for the new season and shed light on the Gkeeping situation.
Carlo said: "After this start - although I didn't expect such a start, considering the injuries - so if I was to choose, I would choose Abiatti as a first team Gkeeper. The formation for next season ? We will play a 4-3-3. Cardacio is ready while I predict an important season from Pato. Kaka' will be ready soon, and there are some positive signs on Nesta's situation. What worries me is that I haven't yet tested Ronaldinho, and I hope he comes back in good form from the Olympics."

Aug 12 2008, 04:23 PM
Carlo also commented on Gourcuff's debut with Bordeux ... And he said that the problem is not with Gourcuff's first match, but with the games that proceed the first ... He added that Milan will be following his development in France and hope that he shows the quality, which Carlo is convinced that he has, in continuity.

Ancelotti: 'Mourinho provocatore'
Il tecnico del Milan, Carlo Ancelotti ha dichiarato: "Mourinho è simpatico, ma gli piace discutere a distanza sui giornali. L'importante è non andare sul pesante e rispondere sempre con ironia. Cricket would be fine if it didn't last so long and there weren't a million different versions of it. I watch the Ashes and the World Cup (Apparently there is more than one

That was the Cricket World Cup in West Indies. The one that comes along every four years. And the man that died there was the Pakistani coach, Bob Woolmer. He was English and about as gentlemen as they used to make them.

But apparently, yeah, there have been far too many stupid trophies and such in cricket. So much so that I've stopped watching it.

Is there anyone else? That's the question.

The only other worth mentioning is Collingwood (the allround, and previous one-day captain of the English team). He's probably the best fielder alive at the moment in world cricket, takes some amazing one-handed catches. Pietersen is just meh.

Just some news before I get to bed...
http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/aug13d.htmlAdriano’s positive pre-season could be in tatters after the Inter hitman suffered a potentially serious thigh injury.
The Brazilian striker has been enjoying a renaissance under Jose Mourinho after spending the end of last season on loan at Sao Paulo.
L’Imperatore was excellent against Bayern Munich and scored the winning goal in a 1-0 triumph over Ajax last Saturday.
But the euphoria of the last few weeks seems to have evaporated as Adri reported an acute pain in his thigh at the end of training today.
The 26-year-old is waiting for tests from doctor Franco Combi later today to ascertain the extent of the strain, but there are fears it could be serious.

Family tragedy strikes De Rossi
Roma and Italy star Daniele De Rossi’s father-in-law has been found dead from two gunshot wounds.
The midfielder is in shock after 48-year-old Massimiliano Pisnoli was discovered in a street near the Campoleone station in Latina, near Rome.
The man had been shot twice by a rifle, once in the head and again in the back, but police say the actual time of death could be up to a week ago.
Pisnoli already had some previous convictions for theft and had reportedly escaped a previous assassination attempt.
De Rossi married Tamara Pisnoli on May 18, 2006 and they have a daughter together named Gaia.
The Roma midfielder is one of his club’s top stars and won the World Cup with Italy in 2006.

Reports: Baptista signs for Roma Thursday 14 August, 2008
Julio Baptista is set to become a Roma player as Press reports state that a deal with Real Madrid is complete.
Luciano Spalletti’s squad is lacking depth in attack and the capital club have been desperately searching for a striker.
After an £18m bid for Fiorentina’s Adrian Mutu was rejected, Roma turned to Real hitman Baptista, who had stressed his desire to leave the Bernabeu in search of first-team football.
Following weeks of negotiations, there are widespread reports that a deal has been agreed.
Real will receive around £10.5m plus £300,000 per season for the next two years as long as Roma qualify for the Champions League.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the man nicknamed ‘The Beast’ is ready to accept a pay cut to a modest £2.2m plus bonuses per season over four years.
“It’s all done,” middleman Ernesto Bronzetti confirmed on Calciomercato.it.
“The reports in the Spanish Press are true, even if the figures are a little wrong. Julio Baptista is a Roma player.”
Baptista is expected in Rome tomorrow and will be officially presented as the newest member of the Giallorossi family on Sunday or Monday.
http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/aug14o.html Even though Baptista is very inconsistent (one day crap, the other as good as world's best) I think he will succeed in Roma. their style of play will suit him fine.

Fifa has ordered former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu to pay the club £13.68m in damages for breach of contract after he tested positive for cocaine. Chelsea signed the Romanian from Parma for £15m in 2003 but the following year he tested positive and was given a seven-month worldwide football ban.
Earlier in the year lawyer Cristian Sarbu said Fifa told Mutu to pay £9.6m but the fine was raised on appeal.
Chelsea said they were "delighted" by the ruling.
After being sacked by Chelsea and serving his ban, Mutu joined Juventus in January 2005, and at the end of the following season he moved to his current side, Fiorentina.
"This is a very significant decision for football," said a statement on the Chelsea website.
"Not only did the Dispute Resolution Chamber make us a very significant monetary award, it also recognised the damaging effect incidents involving drugs has on football and the responsibility we all have in this area."
Mutu can now appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.
BBC A bit steep maybe, but well done to FIFA. About time they stop letting players get away with anything.
