The WC was a whole different scenario, Pirlo was basically Italies only source of creative outlet for the whole team because of Totti's condition. he was even dropping back in defence to pick up the ball from a defender and start passing the ball around the midfield. With Italy all the responsability was put upon him, and he showed to the world that he can be a leader. At milan it's different and he knows that and I'm sure he doesn't have any problem with it.
First: Pirlo is always, and WAS always in Milan as a creative midfielder. He isn't playing the role of DM or somebody else fully. But when Ronaldinho arrives he'll be shut at back and his role will be just passing the ball from defenders to Kaka or Ronaldinho. This will make his beautiful game worse. He won't have his freedom in the field, which is needed for a creative midfielder.
WC just showed what he is capeable of and we should use it.

Pirlo would never leave why would he not want to play in a role that has made him famous. If he had stayed at Inter or any other club for that matter and continued to play in that attacking midfielder role, I don't think he would have ever made it and might have even been sold to a middlt table team. I'm sure that Pirlo is very grateful to be at Milan, doing what he does best, which is playing in a deep-lying-playm,aker role, which is the role that is best suited for him
Class remains as a class. Of course we can't compare merde to Milan ( Inter just puts every single player down ), but Pirlo would show himself up everywhere (again except Inter

) IMO.
