Don't you remember the World Cup 2002 - Japan/Korea? Brazil 2-0 Germany on the final? Ronaldinho was there... remember his goal vs. England (Seaman)?

Is this what you don't remember/get? huh.gif

Oh... and talking about the 12M-per year... well, I give 1 example:
-Totti gets 6M a year, way way more than the others players of Roma... and aren't they a strong "group"? Just look how they celebrate their goals...
*

Well that's a different thing I'd say. Totti IS Roma. he plays for this club since 1995 now I guess. He's the undenieable leader of the squad, for many years, and he's the teams captain for many years. No one can complain about him getting such a wage.
If Ronnie arrives and earns 12 Million a years this would be a whole different thing...

I still remember this of course, it was the magic triangle back then, the 3 R's. Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho.
No one says he's not a great player, but he's surely not the leading kind that can push a team on his own, like Henry is one, or Juninho.
Ronaldinho is like a desert, nice to watch, and you definetely like it but he's nothing that really fills your stomach...

It's not the same, but, if you ask the 90% of the Milan players who they want on the team... you know the answer.

Even Gattuso told that on an interview. (R10 is Rino's worst nightmare)

well .. from that perspective ... I guess they'll get what they want biggrin.gif

Well, it would be THE ultimate transfer sice Zidane left Juve, that's certain...
Milan Are Brilliant
Oh this rumour going is going to be around for so long, I hope we sign him next summer simply because all of these types of posts about him on this forum will stop tongue.gif

No, seriously I'd rather us sign a World-Class attacker. Inzaghi is doing well but how long can he realistically go on for, or more likely how long can he go for without gaining an injury?! I don't know, this time in a few months we may have a top class player in Oliveira or a rejuvenated goal-scoring Gilardino (which I can see happening).

Still, I think it's better to look at either the defence or attack before the midfield, Pirlo, Kaka, Gattuso, Seedorf to name a few are all world-class (well Clarence sometimes!), and fairly young.

Whist I would be delighted if we did sign the Goofy Brazilian, I still think the money could be spent more wisely.

Maradona didn't play with tactics he played with b@lls ... you could see "The game ends when I want to" written all over the place!!!! That's how he won those two champs with Napoli too ... another task Ronaldinho have not completed yet ...

anyway ... this conversation is driving us nowhere so ... let's just wait for the '07/'08 season where hopefully he'll be with us ...

I'd certainly prefer to have Kaka and Nesta (and Gourcuff probably) in Milan till they end their careers rather than Gaucho if I could only pick one between these two choices!! king.gif

Am I the only onr that's not excited about this whole R10 coming to Milan thing? I'd rather go for a young and talented striker. We are doing great in midfield and with the likes of Kaka and Gourcuff, I don't see why we should bring the ugly one to the San Siro. It would only cause trouble between the players and Kaka might ask to leave because he has said so many times that he wants to be our number one player. I swear to god, I wouldn't trade Kaka's shirt for R10...

Me too... but will you mind having the 2 best trequartista (attacking midfielder) in the world on the same team?

R10, as you know can play as trequartista, supporting the striker as a 2nd foward. Or even in the wings. He can do some places. Not only 1. I think that's good. For him and the team.

It would be great too if we get him before the 30's...

Actually I could see that working. But with the group of players we have right now, that formation doesn't suit us. Unless some players leave and and some other com in. But I don't want to change our formation and our players just for R10. He is a spectacular players, but I enjoy his rivalry. I want him to stay at Barca so we can beat the so called "best team" & "best player" in the world!

Why can't he do Oliveira place? I bet if Carlo have him he'll put: Gattuso - Pirlo - Seedorf; Kaka; R10 + Inzaghi up front. IMHO we don't need to change the 4-3-1-2 for R10.

Sell or loan Boriello and our attack next season can be:

2nd foward: Oliveira, Ronaldinho
In-box striker: Gilardino, Inzaghi

I like it. With some rotation during the team... would be something. cool.gif

Exactly.

Think about this people, can you imagine what it would be like to have Kaka and R10 linking up with each other??? Not only would they provide goals for Pippo or Gila but they will also score tons themselves.

And I don't think Kaka would mind having him at San Siro, I think he wuld be thrilled to have him in fact, first of all R10 is his friend, and secondly Kaka would know that by getting him the team would be much stronger and that would mean more titles and more exposure to Milan and him, since he and R10 would probably be known as the golden twosome.

Milan pursue ‘Dinho dream

Milan are planning a fresh bid to sign Barcelona star Ronaldinho. “We would do all that is in our power to sign him,” said owner Silvio Berlusconi.

The Brazilian is a dream capture for the Rossoneri President and he’s ready to make a sensational offer if the player was ever to leave his current club.

“Ronaldinho is destined to remain a dream, at least for the time being, as Barcelona are not willing to discuss a transfer for the player,” stated the former Italian Prime Minister.

“However, if the conditions were to change then Milan would definitely be interested in making an offer,” continued the club chief.

“Ronaldinho is an extraordinary player, one who can really make the difference and we would do all that is in our power to sign him.”

The Brazilian star was paired with a move to Milan during the summer, but no firm offer was ever made by the Via Turati club for the player who is contracted to the Nou Camp outfit until 2014.

However, the side’s hopes of seeing Ronaldinho at the San Siro in the future were boosted after Ricardo Oliveira finalised his transfer to Milan – as his agent is Roberto de Assis, the brother of the Balon d’Or winner.

Berlusconi is now praying in a similar scenario to the one which saw Alessandro Nesta join the San Siro side in 2002.

“We had said that we would not sign Nesta because he was a symbol of Lazio,” explained the President.

“But the Biancocelesti then changed their mind and decided that the player was no longer untransferable, so we then made our offer and signed him.

“I hope something similar may happen with Ronaldinho. If Barcelona should change their mind then we will be ready to take advantage of the situation.”

I think Pirlo's role in this squad will be very little. He can't show his creativity and the magic that he showed in WC. I'm afraid if we continue to use him like this - he'll leave.

The WC was a whole different scenario, Pirlo was basically Italies only source of creative outlet for the whole team because of Totti's condition. he was even dropping back in defence to pick up the ball from a defender and start passing the ball around the midfield. With Italy all the responsability was put upon him, and he showed to the world that he can be a leader. At milan it's different and he knows that and I'm sure he doesn't have any problem with it.

Pirlo would never leave why would he not want to play in a role that has made him famous. If he had stayed at Inter or any other club for that matter and continued to play in that attacking midfielder role, I don't think he would have ever made it and might have even been sold to a middlt table team. I'm sure that Pirlo is very grateful to be at Milan, doing what he does best, which is playing in a deep-lying-playm,aker role, which is the role that is best suited for him

First: Pirlo is always, and WAS always in Milan as a creative midfielder. He isn't playing the role of DM or somebody else fully. But when Ronaldinho arrives he'll be shut at back and his role will be just passing the ball from defenders to Kaka or Ronaldinho. This will make his beautiful game worse. He won't have his freedom in the field, which is needed for a creative midfielder.
WC just showed what he is capeable of and we should use it.

Class remains as a class. Of course we can't compare merde to Milan ( Inter just puts every single player down ), but Pirlo would show himself up everywhere (again except Inter biggrin.gif ) IMO.

I never said that Pirlo is a DM, he is a deep-lying-playmaker, which is a totally different thing to a DM. That's why he has Rino to cover for him, so he doesn't have any defensive duties. In the WC he had 2 or even 3 (when Camoranesi didn't play) DMs covering for him (perrotta and Rino). That's why he was that free to express himself creatively.

But we play a totally different system to that of Italy. We have to adapt our system to the type of players we have, and I can't really see us play in a 4-4-1-1 system to accomodate just Pirlo, it's just not realistic.

Not necissarily, contract, like rules are made to be dishonered. Ask a formaer player of ours wink.gif

And why do you want Torres so much? I for one think that he isn't made for serie A football, he is a typical La Liga player, fast and agile, but not as strong and physical. I know I shouldn't judge before I ACTUALLY see him play (if he ever comes) for Milan, but I just have a bad feeling about him, that we would spend sh!t loads of cash on him and he would flop

I think that I have decided (for now) : I don't want us to get Ronaldinho. First of all because our defence needs rejuvanation, we all know that. Secondly we've never before bought a player that big and I don't want us to do that now.
Thirdly we should look for younger alternatives of what Silvio think Dinho is is; I mean we should go for players like Porto's Anderson (who Barcelona are already scouting on) that I'm pretty sure that in some years Silvio will be like for!!!!
And last but not least, IMO the Kaká-Gourcuff duo will be much more beautiful and appealing than the Kaká-Gaucho one!!!

Serie A is more DEFENSIVE the EPL is more PHYSICAL. There's a difference.

I just think that Torres is the type of player made for Spanish footbal. And as dst said he is a spaniard and their track record in serie A is frightening, considering how much money we would have to spend on him.

Oliveira is a differnent case though, first of all he is Brazilian and unlike spaniards they have a great track record in Serie A, especially with Milan. And he hasn't only played in one league and one club, he has made it in the brazilian league and Spanish league with different teams in both leagues.
KillerMax
I think Torres is not a typical Spanish player. His style would suit Milan, but if Oliveira is a success, then I'll go for Klaas Jan Huntelaar. He will be Inzaghi's replacement and Dutch players DO make it in Serie A, specially in Milan. wink.gif
dst
well yeah ... 33 goals in a single season sounds good to me ... and I like the Dutch so ... Milan have my approval (like they could use it) !!!
