pretty much sums it up.

I think he just means that Berlusconi's only concern is to see Ronaldinho in Milan and he will not dictate any other transfer moves...

But his behavior in general is disheartening... he doesn't seem to care too much any more.

From Skysports.com

Milan's chief officer Adriano Galliani has confirmed the club's continuing interest in signing Ronaldinho from Barcelona.

The Italian giants want the Brazilian play-maker as Carlo Ancelotti seeks to overall his aging squad which missed out on qualification for next season's UEFA Champions League.

The continued interest in Ronaldinho comes after the Rossoneri have already signed the Italian international Gianluca Zambrotta from the Catalans.

Speaking of the situation, Galliani told Gazzetta dello Sport: "We are trying to do everything possible to sign him. Anyway we will sign a good striker to replace Ronaldo."

The club were also interested in Barcelona's striker Samuel Eto'o but Galliani has said they have been put off by the 50 million Euro valuation of him.

And he re-iterated that coach Ancelotti will stay at the club after the Rossoneri refused Chelsea permission to speak to the coach.

"We don't sell champions, neither the coach," he said, before speaking of the goal-keeping situation at the club.

"One of the three keepers will be Abbiati. I've spoke with Dida and he doesn't want to leave. He reassures me in three months he will come back being a regular," said Galliani.

He added that striker Marco Borriello will come back but he has loaned midfielder Yoann Gourcuff to Bordeaux, while Galatasaray have asked for defender Dario Simic.

WTF is that hope it is true
kurtsimonw
No doubt he'll be our "other forward" signing, and I think Galliani said that's all the transfers were going to make! Would be very disappointing if that turned out to be true.

Yes, would be very good if it happened tongue.gif

Pato
R10 ------- Kaka

Let's face it, we ARE NOT going to play with two strikers under Carlo. now what do you prefer, the above attack or the below:

Pato
Seedorf ------- Kaka

I dont think carlo has much of a choice anymore tbh. Things are now like this and i'm taking this info from what galliani has said so far in the press and am making a educational guess.

berlu wants 2 strikers and if carlo doesnt comply then this his last season, guaranteed. Or we'll transfer to chelsea.

City takes things on a serious initiative  as the dolla dolla bills reach new levels

The Barcelona superstar is currently in his homeland on holiday, but that will not stop Citizens' directors from jetting out to meet him and try to resurrect a deal.

While the Premier League club continue to try and tie down a new manager, with Mark Hughes in pole position, a move for Ronaldinho is owner Thaksin Shinawatra's main aim.

When City first made enquiries about the former Gremio and PSG star their bid was accepted by Barcelona, but the player himself turned down the move, having always stated that Milan was his first choice.

Now that the Rossoneri have made it clear that he is no longer their priority, Ronaldinho must decide whether to stay at Camp Nou and try and win his place back or make a fresh start.

The offer of €250,000-a-week may help, according to the Daily Mail, and the fact that they are hoping to clinch a deal to sign his compatriot, Jo, in the next few days.

Incoming Barça boss, Pep Guardiola, spoke to Ronaldinho before he went back to Brazil in a bid to ascertain what his mental and physical state was and how willing he was to be part of the squad.

City will have a lot of convincing to do, with the player having set his heart on Italy and the fact that Barça are keen to see if he still has something to offer.

Reports from Italy claim that Milan are no longer in discussions with Barca over Ronaldinho.

It is now to be seen, whether, Ronaldinho will accept an offer from Manchester City of 14M/season. Or stay in Barca for another season and leave on a free to Milan.

With UEFA, he could buy out his contract and move. Milan will pay peanuts next season, IF Ronaldinho stays on at Barca. Hence, Barca will be forced to bow down to Milan during this mercato.

The way these reports are coming in, it seems as though Milan are deep into the mercato, with two or three targets about to be signed. But the Ronaldinho to Milan has stopped. I doubt it has stopped for any reason except that of Barca demanding X $$ and the fact that there might be a new president at Barca. Still, IF Ronaldinho stays at Barca for one more season .. Then, yes Galliani will get him for practically free and if Barca bow down in this mercato, then Galliani will still get his way.

But if your looking at it from a pessimistic point of view .. Even Eto'o is far fetched.

From SKYSPORTS.COM

Ronaldinho's brother has insisted that Chelsea and Milan are also still interested in signing him.

Manchester City have been the most vocal in their desire to take him from Barcelona, with the Catalan giants ready to sell the Brazilian superstar.

Chelsea and Milan have been long-term suitors of Ronaldinho, and his brother and agent Robert de Assis insists they are still interested in making a move.

"City want him, but there are other clubs still interested," De Assis is quoted in the Catalan press.

"Chelsea wants Ronaldinho and Milan has still not given up on hiring him."

Assis says that he does not expect his brother's future to be resolved in the near future.

"There will be no important news about Ronaldinho in the coming days," he said.

"He wants to be holiday quietly in Porto Alegre [his hometown] and wants to recover well and not rush his recent injury."

Yes they are, he was benched by PSG's coach L.Fernandez several times back then, he even once was subed and was laughing and pointing his finger at himself suggesting something like "What?! Me! Are you serious, are you taking "me" out?!" laugh.gif that was hilarious!

@Bluesummers -- Barca knows that Ronaldinho is leaving so they are going to open the door to whoever wants to talk with him. doesn't mean they have a realistic chance of signing him.

I would put money on R20 at Milan this summer, even after Gandini's latest comments:

QUOTE
Milan director Umberto Gandini has stated that the Rossoneri have no interest in signing Ronaldinho, but he says that they do like his club team-mate Samuel Eto’o.

The Diavoli are well known to be in the market for a top class attacker, and a couple of months or so ago it had looked almost certain that Ronaldinho would be ending up at San Siro.

However slowly but surely the chances of the move taking place seemed to lessen, with the transfer fee seeming to be the main sticking point.

Milan director Umberto Gandini has now confirmed that the club are no longer interested in the Brazilian, but he says that Samuel Eto’o is a target.

“Eto’o is part of this list of attackers that are priorities for us,” Gandini stated.

“Ronaldinho is not part of the first list.

“I can tell you that Barcelona are a very expensive shop.”

Gandini also added that the club’s star man, Kaka, was not for sale, amid rumours that Chelsea may attempt to launch a huge bid.

“Kaka is not for sale. Milan keep him,” he concluded.

It would make sense. Like I said before...

-Drogba probably prefers Inter and CL football.
-Eto'o is unrealistic and prefers CL football/PL too.
-Adebayor is not a quality striker. At least I don't consider him a top striker. Far from that.
-Benzema is probably staying at Lyon 1 more year and he already stated he prefers Madrid and La Liga to any other club/country.
-Gomez? I don't think so...
-Crespo? I don't think he'll never come back to the Rossoneri side.

Meaning... Ronaldinho.
From the top 4 strikers I've put in... he's not as expensive as them. He's brazillian. He needs a new and top challenge.

We keep saying he's not our target anymore... so it would be typical if we get him.

Or Ronaldinho or we keep Paloschi IMO.
Rossoneri7
Yup, I'm of the opinion as well that Ronaldinho will end up at Milan in the end.

Also, I believe there would be another striker in the fold as well as a cb ...
Bluesummers
I hope so. You guys seem very hopeful on the fact that we'll get R10. It went from a list of 6 strikers to 2 strikers and now we may have to even forget about signing a striker and go for R10 with paloschi staying sad.gif
Jack Sparrow
Well considering, what we've missed is a second striker, since we've got enough people who can play in an around the box (even Pato plays primo punta), I don't think I would be terribly dissappointed if we got R20 instead of Adebayor. biggrin.gif

Eto'o? Too much of a *****- truth be told. Mourinho would just need to look at him oddly, for this guy to open his big mouth and say something stupid.

But he wears the Puma Speed Boot...so that's a redeeming factor. wub.gif tongue.gif

Well we'll just have to see. I mean, it might end up being someone totally out of left field. I believe the main fact, is the club doesn't want to spend a lot in a season, where income is going to be minimal. And from what I heard, no new top CB, till next season. Paolo retires and a replacement is brought in.

Edited to remove naughty word.

My thoughts exactly, I do not like Ade at all! sad.gif
KillerMax
What is wrong with Adebayor? He is an up and coming striker and is strong physically. He is no c*** like Eto'o and Drogba and he is coming off a very good season. He is not a world class striker yet, but he could very well become one in Milan. I can't honestly see the difference between him and Drogba who by the way just had a terrible season.

I just don't like Adebayor Killer, for me he's good because he plays in England, I saw him when he was playing in France and believe me he makes Milan's Oliveira looks world class!
