Now looking into the possible situation of a possible arrival of the 2 I mentioned above, I just realised they both are said to be looking for CL football from next season (which would essentially rule us out

)
Anyway, theres still hope... as we all know things can change dramatically and instantlly in the transfer market without a hint!
Huntelar did say once that he was content to stay at Ajax too for another season...
anyway well see what happens!

Why does Huntelaar get such attention?
I mean all we've seen is him at Ajax. MvB doesn't give him any chances for the Oranje team. He is good. But more than that? At this moment..not.

He's getting attention because he's exactly the type of player we need, young and good!
About the Dutch NT, I think it's really hard for him to play when he has RVN as a team mate. RVN has been incredible last night, probably his best performance I've ever seen!

Hunter would make a interesting partnership with Pato. Exactly the type of partner our brazillian starlet need.
But I believe Real or Man Utd will get him.
I'm just surprised Berlusconi, Braida and Galliani didn't think of him... I mean, just to throw the name to the papers for the abbonamenti.

Guardiola: "From now until the 14th of July we should have settled the problem with Ronaldinho"
The future of one of footballs most esteemed and decorated player is still in the dark, he was once unsellable, and today a black cloud surrounds his future.
What is definite is that Ronaldinho's journey with Barcelona has ended after five years, and the clubs that are keen to sign him are well known in the likes of AC Milan and Manchester City. Milan had presented a one time offer to Barcelona FC and not eligible for negotiation, it was a 15MM euro offer.
Now things are different, Chelsea have come into the fold with their new coach, Luiz Felipe Scolari, demanding the Barcelona and Selecao mega star. With two heavy weights set to battle it out, make no mistake that Manchester City's situation is the weakest: Chelsea and Milan will enter a bidding war, with Abramovic and Berlusconi setting the stage for a bidding war. Nevertheless, both clubs hold their reservations for Ronaldinho's fitness level and that he might not regain the form that he was notorious for.
But all of this doesn't mean anything to Barcelona's new coach Guardiola, who doesn't show interest in Ronaldinho, stating: "Until the 14th of July when the players get back together, Ronaldinho has to remain a problem for the club!"

NBA and Baseball are in another league in terms of salaries
But I don't think 32M/season is the figure, if there was an offer from LA .. Maybe something closer to what Becks is getting.
32M/yr isn't realistic, especially with the financial difficulties that the US is in now !

Of all North American sports, the biggest contract ever signed is Alex Rodriguez' $275m over 10 years with the New York Yankees. So that's an average of $27.5m a year - which is also the highest ever average salary per year for a contract in US sports too. So R10s would be bigger than pretty much any team sports contract, ever, really. (Though I think a few F1 contracts are worth more.)

From ESPNSOCCERNET.COM
Milan admit defeat in Ronaldinho transfer race
AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has admitted the club cannot compete financially with Manchester City in the race to sign Ronaldinho.
Galliani said Milan and other Italian clubs are being squeezed out of several transfer moves as clubs in England, Spain and Germany have more money to spend.
'I cannot ignore that Italian football is now in fourth position in Europe behind England, Spain and Germany,' he said in Gazzetta dello Sport.
'We simply cannot compete with certain figures anymore.
'Manchester City have offered the Brazilian (Ronaldinho) 12 million euros (£9.5million) a year. We can only compete with that if they (Barcelona) give him away for free.'

Even Fiorentina and manageing to out do us in the transfer market. As I expected he's already preparing people to the fact that no star striker will arrive. This is his way of saying that

He doesn't need to say anything really, I mean it's not like he is asking us 'fans' for any contribution ... If anything, then it is just another attempt at sending a message to the other clubs that Milan wont be hassled.
By now, all the clubs know Milan need a striker, so 'up the price when Milan come knocking' ... In the end, Milan will end up with a WC striker, even if it costs 100MM

Leo Messi! since Barca will not sell Messi at any cost, if a club want him, they have to pay his release clause to Barca, and I'm sure it's worth even more than 100 million.

120 million I think. Leo Messi is injury prone and even worse Argentine. I see no chance of Milan wanting him.

The toughest part is getting Milan to want a player.
I'd really be happy, if we spent 30 million and got ourselves Cassano, Cigarini and maybe Mutu. Perhaps cancel Mutu and next season, we can get Boruc.

Rummenige has said something alone those lines.
QUOTE
Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has hit out at the way football clubs are allowed to run up huge debts and predicted financial meltdown if nothing is done about it.
The Bayern boss has labelled the current football world as “sick†as ever increasing wage bills threaten to cripple clubs. He also claims that clubs are going down a very slippery slope and that financial ruin will be the only outcome.
"Football is sick" he told Kicker magazine in Germany. "I read a statistic which says 85% of all professional football clubs are running at a loss."
Bayern are the biggest club in Germany and by far the biggest spenders in terms of both transfer fees and wages, but they are in a healthy position financially.
Rummenigge believes that Uefa should introduce a top limit on how much clubs can spend on wages, with "50 to 55% of turnover" being the upper limit.
"That would make football healthier again" he added.
dst
Jun 20 2008, 11:02 AM
There needs to be done something, do doubt about that. Maybe what Rum suggests would be good...
And I think all teams should adopt the Members thing... like in Barcelona / Madrid. I don't think clubs can make much money today, especially with the prices on transfers / wages / stadiums they have to pay.
