He also said Eto'o and Ronaldinho will be European citizens soon.  rolleyes.gif

10: Sabato Ronaldinho tornerà a Barcellona e tutto accadrà molto velocemente.

Hope my translating is up to your standards Tennie biggrin.gif :

After the interview that leaves space for many hopes inside the red & black home, the following things have happened:

1: Ronaldinho hasn't renewed. His contract runs out in 2010. If Barcelona don't sell him this year, at the end of next season they will be forced to sell him at half his actual price because of a Fifa rule that imposes to halve the value when one enters the final year of the contract.

2: After 5 years that a foreign player plays in Spain he doesn't have the right anymore to any fiscal alleviation. Which means to maintain the same income Barca would have to disburse about 4 million euros more each season. (and Dinho also wants a pay rise... this is why he hasn't found an agreement with Barca) And guess what, this news appeared on Milan's official site that reported an article from Sole24ore... does this seem like a coincedence?

3: Barcelona has a non EU problem. It has too many. Even though it's true that Dinho & Eto'o are supposed to turn EU on August 31. (because in Spain after 2 years working in the Iberic peninsula you have the right to ask for a citizenship)

4: Barcelona bought Henry. Becoming the new idol of the Nou Camp has put the star of Gaucho in the shade and he hasn't taken it too well... With everything he represents he can't allow himself to be 2nd to the Frenchman.

5: If you go on the Barcelona site you will notice that all of the images of the Brazilian have vanished. All substituted by those of the Frenchman... The only image in which he is portrayed is in the manifesto of the Gamper trophy composed in this way: primarily with Henry & Ibra, secondarily Eto'o and another Inter player. Messi immediately behind and in a central position a very small image of Dinho (ready to be erased from the moment he will be sold!)

6: Oliveira was payed an inapproppriate amount by Milan to "catch up with Dinho's brother"

7: Dinho & his brother were in Milan and many (including which Giorgio Micheletti) allegate that they were in contact. Some indiscretions talk about the fact that the economic agreement with the player has been reached.

8: Berlusconi declared that "Laporta told me that he can't sell Ronaldinho otherwise he would have to expatriate" Apart from the fact that the Barcelona fans are quite resigned to the fact that Gaucho will leave (see the contestation after the elimination from the copa del rey) it is important to note 3 points: 1) the last time Berlusconi said a similar thing Nesta arrived. 2) Specifying that Laporta can't sell the Brazilian doesn't exclude that something could happen if it was him that wanted to go. 3) In Spain voices are scattering that Milan would pay the rescission clause that would put hands forward and prepare Barca fans for the inevitable.

9: Some English papers say that Newcastle asked about the price of Dinho and they responded with 80 million euros...So he isn't unsellable as Laporta says he is.

10: Saturday Ronaldinho will return to Barcelona and everything will happen very quickly (have you got in mind Ronaldo's escape from Milan?) because the agreement between club & player is already there. Plus when has Milan ever organized a manifestation at San Siro to present the new official shirts? That manifestation is just an excuse to present the new jewel in style in Milan.

Today (1 hour and a half ago), Barcelona president was on a press conference where he explained that Iniesta is not leaving the club. Eto'o is not leaving Catalonia too...

I assure you that this transfer won't be happening this year. I'm 100% sure of it. Barca are not Lyon, they will keep their star players.

And you wanna know the number one reason he won't leave this summer? Barca are pissed that they haven't won anything and there is NO WAY IN HELL that they would sell their best player to the European champions and make them that much stronger. Just NO WAY IN HELL they are that stupid and small of a club.

It's not about what Barcelona wants. it's about what Gaucho wants! Maybe this transfer happen after all.

"GALLIANI, NO NEWS ON ETO'O
7/19/2007
ROME - There was also Adriano Galliani to salute the new era of Pierluigi Collina as referee designator at the Roman hotel where Aia made the announcement. The Milan vice-president excluded any new developments in the negotiations with Barcelona for Cameroon striker Eto'o. But he did so in a way that leaves room for hypothesis: 'What I do at night' - Galliani answered to the journalists who asked him about a stop in Barcelona - I don't tell in the morning'. This afternoon Galliani will be participating to the reunion of the federal council of FIGC. (ANSA)."

I don't know what will happen. Still about 40 days to close the market.

But 1 thing is clear: Barcelona don't need Ronaldinho to be competitive. I mean, he is who he is... but they bought Henry for his place PLUS (and essentially this) they have Giovani dos Santos coming out of their youth programmes.

If I was a Barça fan, I won't be worried about a Ronaldinho exit. It would cover all the Summer transfer costs (Milito, Henry, Touré, etc) and already have decent replacements short and mid-term.

Messi: All Four Forwards Can Play For Barça

Lionel Messi believes that the 'Fantastic Four' can play all play in the same team at FC Barcelona and cannot wait to return to the club to start playing again.

The Argentinian star is currently in China for a Pepsi promotion and will then enjoy a few more days off after playing in the Copa América.

Looking ahead to the new season, the 20-year-old is relishing the prospect of lining up alongside Thierry Henry, Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto'o in the same team.

"I think that we can all play together and for the fans it would be spectacular, but it depends on (Frank) Rijkaard," he said.

"From a personal point of view, I will give everything to earn a place in the starting team."

While the rest of the Barça team are due to return to pre-season training next Monday, Messi will not join the squad until August 5 in the Far East.

"The truth is that I am anxious to return to Barcelona, but I do not to have some rest for a few days," he continued.

"I am very happy and excited about the new signings, especially (Gabriel) Milito, and I cannot wait to meet them all.

"We are building a team with the best players in the world and we will be battling for all the trophies.
