Berlusconi eyes ‘Dinho

President Silvio Berlusconi has confirmed that Milan are in pole position to sign Ronaldinho if Barcelona decide to sell the Brazilian star.

The Rossoneri have made no secret of the fact that the Brazilian is one of their summer targets, after transfer consultant Ernesto Bronzetti was appointed to contact the player’s brother and agent Roberto Assis in the past few weeks.

Vice-President Adriano Galliani had also publicly admitted that the Rossoneri were ready to start negotiations with the Spanish giants, as all conversations to extend the player’s deal with the Blaugrana until 2014 had stalled so far.

“I believe we would be ready to make a move if Barcelona were to sell Ronaldinho,” confirmed Berlusconi to La Domenica Sportiva after Sunday’s win over Sampdoria at the San Siro.

“He is a great player, although we would obviously need to understand what his effect would be on the opponents and his teammates. Even with him on the team, tonight we would have had some problems. Luck plays a great part in football.”

The former Prime Minister also declared that Milan have targeted Gianluigi Buffon and could make an offer to Juventus, seeing the latest rumours suggesting that Nelson Dida has agreed a free transfer to Barcelona.

“Buffon is an excellent goalkeeper and we are definitely interested in his services if we will fail to renew Dida’s deal,” explained the Rossonero, as the Brazilian’s contract expires on June 30 and talks to extend have been unsuccessful so far.

“Dida cannot believe that Milan are willing to pay him more than what has been agreed for with other champions, like Kaka,” concluded Berlusconi.

The Rossoneri have a strict salary policy that cannot be changed and the Rossoneri have always stated that Dida could not earn more than the other champions on the squad, despite him being a top level player

Milan close in on Ronaldinho

Ronaldinho has moved closer to a sensational Milan switch after his brother and agent met Rossoneri officials on Tuesday.

Roberto Assis, who also represents Ricardo Oliveira, flew into the Italian city to officially speak with Oliveira after his kidnapped sister was found safe and well.

However, Assis also dined with Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani and sporting director Ariedo Braida where they are understood to have discussed his brother’s future.

The Corriere dello Sport reports that the two parties involved are close to reaching an agreement over personal terms, even if convincing Barcelona – who have ‘Dinho under contract until 2011 – to sell is a different matter.

Nevertheless, the newspaper suggested that Assis and Galliani have agreed on a pact which would guarantee Ronaldinho’s move to Milan if he were to leave the Blaugrana.

“Barcelona deserve all our respect, there are no problems and we have an excellent relationship with them,” said Assis.

“My brother, however, cannot deny that he likes Milan. There are many Brazilian players here who form a family and always welcome him warmly, how could you not do the same?”

Galliani, though, is playing it cool and is keen to avoid the kind of confrontations he had with Real Madrid in the summer after they openly courted Kaka through the media.

“I don’t want to put pressure on anyone, Ronaldinho still has three years on his contract and I don’t think there are any problems with the club,” he stated.

“If he decides to change he knows that Milan are here, ready to welcome him, but I do not want another Kaka situation.”

President Silvio Berlusconi, who has made no secret of his wish to see ‘Dinho wear Milan’s jersey, also confirmed that his dream might be close to coming true.

“Ronaldinho could join us and there is a good chance that this will happen,” underlined the former Italian Prime Minister.

Barca deny ‘Dinho claims
Thursday 15 March, 2007

Barcelona Vice-President Ferran Soriano has described the reports that Ronaldinho could join Milan as ‘groundless’.

The Italian press claimed on Wednesday that the player’s brother and agent Roberto Assis had met Milan representatives the day before, confirming them as the double FIFA World Player of the Year’s preferred destination.

“All rumours about Ronaldinho’s transfer to Milan are a joke,” Soriano told Radio Catalogna.

“Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani stated that the news was not true and that they are not interested in buying Ronaldinho,” added the Nou Camp official.

“In any case, we are not a club which is keen on selling and we believe that none of our players want to leave,” concluded Soriano.

Galliani in fact preferred to play it cool, as he is eager to avoid the confrontations he had with Real Madrid last summer when they courted Kaka through the media.

“I don’t want to put pressure on anyone, Ronaldinho still has three years on his contract and I don’t think there are any problems with the club,” stated the Rossonero.

“If he decides to change he knows that Milan are here, ready to welcome him, but I do not want another Kaka situation,” explained the former Lega Calcio chief.

Ron makes Ron call

Friday 16 March, 2007 ::: channel4.com

Ronaldo has urged Brazilian international teammate Ronaldinho to join him at Milan next season.

The Barcelona star is a known Rossoneri transfer objective and reports are gathering pace that ‘Dinho is on the verge of what would be a sensational switch.

“Ronaldinho is a friend of mine and I would be happy to have him here,” said Ronaldo in an interview to AS.

“I am sure he would like it at Milan and he would adapt well to the club’s way of working,” added the former Real Madrid man.

“I haven’t spoken to him personally, but I know that both [President] Silvio Berlusconi and [Vice-President] Adriano Galliani have stated that Milan would be in pole position if Ronaldinho were to leave Barcelona.”

Ronaldinho’s brother and agent Roberto Assis was in Milan on Tuesday and met Rossoneri officials, fuelling speculation that the player might be close to moving to Italy.

“Nothing has changed between us and Barcelona, the relationship remains excellent,” noted Assis. “Everyone knows that I was in Italy, but only to talk about Ricardo Oliveira.”

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has dismissed speculation that Kaka could consider a move at the end of the season to Real Madrid.

“I think that transfer would be impossible,” noted the former Barcelona star.

In this interview Ronaldo said a lot of good things about Milan. It seems that he's really enjoying his life and the club he plays for.

Milan does everything to get you 100%. In the Milan Lab, the laboratory of the club, the players follow a daily programme. The fitness tests take place each day and are directed to get the players in top shape.'

Him saying stuff like this is great especially for somone like Ronaldo who has been around a lot of clubs.

And him saying these things about Milan and throwing little digs at Real will continue to make a good influence on Kaka smile.gif

Hopefully. But I really think Kaka will only be partly influenced by what people say. He seems really smart and ever since he said about Shevchenko failing in EPL and the fear of moving to another championship I can see he's not kidding himself! He still knows that he's a human and as such he's subject to limitations.

Definately.

I personally think that going to Real at any moment in the near future is carreer suicide for any player. A total circus

I'm not saying Kaka is above money (he's, as you said, a human after all, inferior only to Paolo himself) but whatever decision he may take in the future I'm sure it will be after a long though and he's going to be sure of it, not just because of this thing or the other.
Rossoneri7
Kaka isn't gonna move this summer ... That is certain, but he might be sold by the club, ONLY if the the offer was too good to refuse.

If Madrid comes to Milan and says; over 100M for Kaka, Berlusconi will be the one taking Kaka by the hand and giving him off to Madrid. Cuz, that is the reality of the situation.

In the mean time, Milan is dependent on Kaka and in that case, Kaka remains in Milan.

Confusing, I know rolleyes.gif
dst
I don't think Berlusconi would sell Kaka even for 100m. Not before he gets R20 for sure. It's also said that both Madrid and Chelski already offered that amount of money for Ricky last summer and I wouldn't be surprised if it was true.
Rossoneri7
I'm not saying next season or the one after that. But When Kaka is @28 or 27, and Milan recieve an offer too good to refuse, he will be sold. After all, he is no Maradonna. Even so, Maradonna was sold ... Zidane was sold rolleyes.gif

Highly unlikely this summer or the next, but if in the future an overly exagerrated offer comes in, Kaka will be sold. wink.gif
dst
Well I AM saying next season. wink.gif

Maradona was sold because Barcelona only had to. Check it out again, if you can't recall, you'll see what I'm talking about.

And Zidane was also sold because Giuve needed the money and the player was offered thrice the money he was getting in Italy. As I said in that other thread Real are not going to be able to offer 100m + 10m per year for no player in the near future...

In any case what I'm trying to say is that Silvio wouldn't sell Kaka for the money (not even for 150m) if he knew Ricky would never leave Milan but he might have to in the future so as not to lose him for free. He may be sentimental and a romantic but he didn't get where he is with love so in that case only he WILL get the money.

And it's Maradona! (n) x 1!!! Don't confuse that with Madonna!! biggrin.gif

When I pointed out the money issue I never meant it as a reason why he will leave, but just an example of why players today leave clubs for others. And Ricky might be a Saint but he is still human so we can't exclude any of the possibilities.

Even if I don't think he will leave, especially for money reasons.

Hehe .. So tongue.gif

I'm not saying Berlusconi will sell him for the money, I'm not saying that he has a similar case to Sheva, and I'm not intending to force anything in the sense of Kaka will leave us one day!

All I'm saying is, if in 3 years time (when he is 28 or so) and Madrid, Chelsea, Man U, and all those interested come in and say listen we'll give u 100M plus for Kaka. I do believe that Silvio will take Kaka by the hand and cash him in.

I believe that cuz Kaka is a player that depends on speed and as he get's older he would loose his effectivness. And that is the ONLY reason why I came up with such an assumption.

But not today and not next season and not the season after that or the one after that, but MAYBE the one after that .. hehe lost again rolleyes.gif .. (I hope Ricky doesnt read this, then I'd hate myself for even bringing up the idea)

I don't think he would sell him even if he was 28 and offered that money, again all you have to look at is Sheva's situation, he was 30 and clearly past his best but Milan still wanted to keep him, no matter how much money Chelsea tried to force on us. Now I'm not saying that their situations are the same but it is a fact that Milan don't sell their stars. No matter for how much money and how old they are. Sheva is an isolated case and the only reason he was sold is because of the sentimental feelings between him and Silvio, because if the situation was different I think Milan would have asked him to see out the LONG TERM contract he still had with the club.

And about the speed issue, I don't think it will harm his effectiveness, sure right now his game is based on speed but I think as time wears on he'll learn how to adapt his game to his qualities at the time.

Sheva's game in the biggening was definately based on lighting fast pace, but as time wore on he adjusted his game and Ricky will do the same because that's what world class players do
